I still like him. Still glad I got him. I'm not one for changing my mind after a purchase. If you look at pics of him next to any given character and you still think he looks good, get him.

As for height ... you know, that depends on you. They're big guys. Int he movie's famous "universal greeting" scene. they were half Kup's height, so they are bigger. Actually, I kinda like them bigger - kind of like enforcer type characters. But it's up to you.

I had him down to take pics with the new Sharkticons from just a bit ago. He's fine, though I still think he's rather big. (There are some photos I took at the top of the page showing some scale.) Nothing's broken. He transformed fine. Not the best engineered figure, but hey, it's the only one in existence, right?
Thanks for the tips! Specifically, I'm aiming to learn if you guys have had QC issues, if the plastic quality is OK, pose-ability, etc. Bummer to hear about the engineering, but that's passable given he was intended to display with both G1 and Classics.
I don't mind the height; I plan on displaying my UT Sharkies with a few Sharkticon Megatrons anyway, so I can appreciate the height difference. Helps gives the group an angry horde vibe. Worse comes to worse, Alicon can be displayed in beast mode - I think that's his strongest mode overall anyway.
Does anyone have a shot of UT/iGear Sharkticon, Sharkticon Megatron, and Alicon all together?

He's pretty nice. His "Shark-tooth Spear" weapon is even nicer. I find he makes a great Sharkticon squadron leader.

Just saw the sale at BBTS. Then I went to Youtube to check out videos on these toys.
Still,No Thanks. I need full 90 degree movement in the forward hip legs on the Tetra jets. Love the Voyager scale but the Alicon is too ugly for me to buy.

Alicon's sold out too. I checked yesterday and it said it had over 14 in stock, so I thought I had a bit of time to mull it over.

Impossible Toy's Alicon hails back to the 1980's WWF action figures - bulky, limited poses, and simple gimmicks. It's too bad they couldn't have brought the design up 30 years. I personally think Alicon is a great character choice for a 3rd party, but the execution of this toy makes it hard to fit it in with any collector's line up. He is too big for G1, and too G1 looking and simple to fit in with Classics.
I understand Impossible Toy's love for G1 styles and simple transformations, but I think that is what has cost them over years and why sales of their toys just are not where they want them to be. I own their Quints and all of the Quint guards. I love the Quints but the guards fall terribly short like Alicon.
I wish them the best of luck in the future, but I would really like to see another 3rd Party take a stab at the Alicons and do them justice in design.

There's one last push at BBTS with a clearance sale that includes the Alicon and the Seekers. I decided that, yes, I do want three Alicons and that the price is just about right for their Seeker mould. It won't ever be part of my main collection, but it's nice as a curiosity piece.

Actually... with the current 3rd Party boom, that's not such a distant possibility.
At any rate, now that Alicon is back on preorder, I ordered 3. Figure I have more time to make a final decision, and it doesn't hurt to reserve them.

Exactly. When it was actually in stock, ordering them constituted an actual commitment. With the preorder, we can still go either way with it.
