Tankor is different. He has believable modes, and the figure has tone of poseabililty, it just lacks a neck. I tried to see if there was a fix, but from taking him apart mine had QC issues. The hole serated blade shield is nice. I have the Universe version, but I want a Henkei version to see if the QC issues were corrected.

get Tankor, trash Galvatron.

Gotta disagree. Tankor's truck mode is crap, plane mode is half-*ssed, and bot mode is average at best. Galvatron's bot mode and alt both look worlds better. His parts may often come off during transformation, but Tankor has a part that you have to take off and put back on for both transformations, so what's the difference?

I actually passed on Tankor without a second thought. That sucker just looked cheap and bad in the package. It looked to have the quality of a turd when I saw it in-package.

On the other hand, Galvatron was never my favorite character at all, so I didn't worry about the toy. Then a lot of people started talking about it being (at least) an interesting TF. Still glad I passed on both of these.

I own both. I dislike both.

Galvatron is lovely in robot mode, but once you get him there, keep him there. His transformation process is infuriating. He does compliment Universe Cyclonus well.

Tankor (his package is wrong. He is OCTANE.)is garbage. I picked him up on a recommendation from a friend and was disappointed with him the moment I removed him from the package. BOTH alt modes are awful (the plane is better than the tanker, that is for sure, but both DO suck) and his legs are so floppy in robot mode he uses his melee weapon as a crutch! Aside from the QC issues, the proportions of the robot are just ugly...no neck, a squat, boxy torso, a touch over-kibbly, and way-too-long legs....just bad!

If you must chose between the two, Galvatron is the clear winner.

Oh, but I dissent! And I'm glad I see others do, too!

The toy has a bad rap, but beside from his kibbly legs and backpack, he's great modern update to Galvatron in the deluxe size. $17 doesn't seem so bad when you consider that buying him online, you'd have to pay for shipping.

Plus, you can do this .

And listen, guys, just because we have an inferior deluxe Galvatron now, doesn't mean we won't get an awesome Leader/Ultra/Voyager neo-G1 Galvatron further down the road. Or hell, go crazypants and buy the $150 Energon Galvatron. But damn it, I like this deluxe toy. Don't ruin him for me! :CON:

That image is so beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I actually like my Henkei Galvatron, and am glad I bought him.

Heh, and just a few months ago I picked up a complete Energon Galvatron for $45. One of the best days of my collecting life! :D

TFU Galvatron should be bigger. And less kibble. I was throughly satisfied when someone figured out the hidden cannon alt mode. IMO not a totally bad figure. I have a love-hate with Tankor.

The only reason I thought about getting Galvatron was because he seemed to go well with Energon Rodimus. It would be displayed in robot mode only next to Teh Rod. Seemed like the same size...

Yeah, what is Rodimus without a Galvatron?

Also, somebody mentioned his third walker tank mode. It actually looks more interesting than the tank mode itself, and does add more play value to him.

I was actually thinking of picking one more up and kitbashing him into Guzzle.

Thanks! I found him in a tiny collectible shop, which I suspect doesn't get a lot of traffic. I expected him to be missing accessories or busted in some way, but to my amazement he was in perfect condition, if a little dusty. :D

Nice to see an official image of that, thanks. I tried to figure it out on my own, but nothing looked right to me, and this explains why. It's a cool idea in theorty but looks absolutely terrible.

Check out KOtoys. They have oversized versions of bith toys for a cheaper price.

I have Tankor/Octane. The head is slightly different but more reminiscent of his Marvel look with the goggles and he needs to be repainted but I love him.

I'm getting a friend to repaint him AND he's as big as G1 Ultra Magnus in both robot and truck mode.

I'll definitely pick up oversized Galvatron at some point.

While at Botcon, I was chatting with two gentlemen who swore the oversized KO Galvatron was better than the original. Make what you will of that. Unrelated, I may have flabbergasted them when I said I prefer Titanium Ultra Magnus to FP City Commander. Make what you will of that, too.

Does anyone know how large the oversize Galvy is? I checked on KO Toys, but they don't have any comparaison pics, nor any pics of Robot mode. I'm not in the market for one, since I already own the official one, but I'm curious just how big the oversize KO is.

Thanks.

My thoughts exactly!

I would assume that they are mis-transformed, because the feet aren't even facing forward.

The legs on those KOs are transformed correctly. Hence "simplified."

Titanium Ultra Magnus is the best "representation" of him. We know in the show he never trnasformed to his cab mode, just straight into armor mode. If you look at clips from the '86 movie, UM's transformation is almost identical to how the Titanium version changes. I have an incomplete one as a stand in, and a complete one in package. Titanium version suffers from faulty limbs, and a funky disconnected alt mode.

FP's version like everything has that spin where it represents, but is different enough so they won't get sued. I feel the same way about FP Warbot (Springer) too. He's good but not quite what it could have been if Hasbro might had done it.

So I agree with you on Titanium UM 100%

Hmm... granted they look like crap now, but with a little work they could actually be made into good toys. Are the Legs the only simplified part?

If so, all they need is an exacto saw, a drill bit, and a few good screws to fix the legs.

The oversized Galvatrons seem unsalvagable unless you have good kitbashing skills. Even the head is a seperate accessory! Whoever liked those better than the regular version probably just likes wacky KOs.

As for Titanium Magnus, it's a disappointment. It COULD have been good. Certainly Magnus never transformed into a "white Prime" in the toon. Although he's rather out of scale in bot mode, considering how much scale shifts in Season 4, it might not be too bad. But there's just too many tiny flaws in the bot mode and huge flaws in the vehicle mode that ruin it for me. But, I guess it has it's fans. It's definately better than some of the other Titanium molds.
