All depends on where the facility is. The package absolutely has to go through a shipping center near the delivery point before being sent there. Most times when it's coming cross country it's on a giant semi, not a little UPS truck. Sucks I know.

The amount they charge you is usually greater than or equal to the tax and duty! Meanwhile if someone ships to Canada using USPS, they use Canada post to do the duty/taxes and they do it for free.
