Hm... If at all possible, maybe bulk him up a bit more, too? You know... Put him in some proper proportions and all.

Hmm... I don't know about that, but please make sure you tighten the legs a bit, they tend to plop down instead of staying posable.
As for ideas, why not make him anime accurate with a white instead of chrome paint? Also, are you planning on sculpting the head and seeking better hands?

The white you see in cartoon (actually light grey) is supposed to represent the metallic finish he would have in real life. The character isn?t actually grey, he?s metal. If you look in the movie, he is much shinier and more reflective. because of the added level of quality done in the colors available because of a larger budget and more time a movie production has over a half-hour episodic cartoon, particularly back in the early-to-mid 80s.

i dunno about the paint, he doesnt even have a gun barrel lol, i just wanted to try out some mods, id seen a few from the patent with a folding trigger so i wanted to see how it would work,

he also has a bit more height and articulation if you shave a bit of plastic down inside the leg, but it leaves them a it looser

Looking good.

The crotch area would see a big improvement if you could get the front of the trigger piece to fold down somehow.

thanks again guys,
i wish i had better tools for this but its ok for what i wanted, im going over all the rought bits with putty to fill them in if it gets finished
this folding trigger was how the toy was ment to be before they decided on the firing bullet mechanisum i think,
ive been trying to find the designs all week but had no luck so he might not be exactly the same, i saw it when everyone was looking for patents a few months ago

if i could lower the sholders and add some elbows id be soo happy but right now all i can think of is how to extend the arms

pre microman/meggy before some mold changes were made to release it, like a fold up trigger part

That also explains why Frank Springer originally drew him as he did... Pretty cool.
