Aite, first off I'll admit I don't browse the forums much, so if this has been brought up before and buried somewhere, please don't hurt me. I'm fragile and easily scared off.

Anyway! Something I've found myself wondering about - what is the STORY behind the reset, if there is any? HMW's been around a fairly long time, and a lot of us have developed stories for our characters and teams in the HMW universe. What I'm curious about is if there'll be any sort of HMW-verse explanation for the reset - a vital Cybertron-wide reformat for some reason, alternate universe, some sorta omg-EMP blast, Primus sneezing too hard, anything? Maybe we could use this thread to toss around ideas and such, if nothing's been planned yet.

Somewhat related - there was a thread sometime last year, I think, regarding the possibility of a HMW-based RP board. I remember the idea getting a fair bit of support, but as far as I know, nothing much came out of it. Any plans to implement anything like that at all?

A voracious computer virus developed by the decepticons as a means to destroy the autobots is unleashed when an autobot raid on the facility producing the virus causes a loss of containment. It's spread is rapid and despite the best efforts of all concerned, unchecked.

100% infection achieved 23.46 hours after initial exposure.

yeah Yeah, and all sides hurried heplessly to their medbays, further spreading the chaos Effectively blowing ALL of Cybertron back into the Pre-Industrius Era Save a few annoying Unkowns.(beacause their bound to exist in the opening of V2

There is an official story behind V2. Myself and Seibs have actually talked a bit about this. We both want to stay somewhat true to canon with the overall story arc so new players won't feel lost. We also want to avoid fan fiction in general with the overall story arc of the game (as much as we can, at least).

The new game will have Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, Predacons, Masters and Minicons involved in a war for Cybertron.

In order to fit all this in and remain fairly true to canon, the game will be set in between Beast Wars and Beast Machines. A political time of unrest where multiple factions could wind up at war at a moment's notice. The war for Cybertron won't end up like it did in the end of Beast Machines, it will be up to all of you how the history of Cybertron will pan out by fighting for Cybertron with your own teams.

Love the official idea. Sounds like we'll have a lot to do with the outcome of things storywise. I like that.

OS, that sounds pretty nifty! Will there be a write-up of the official story at some point? And will it include anything about HMW v1 and an explanation of how everyone wound up reset, or will it be assuming HMW v1 never actually happened? Starting from a clean slate, so to speak?

Also, any official word on the possibility of a HMW-based RP board? Yes, no, maybe in the future? Since we have an official story to work with, I think it'd be fun to be able to play with it.

Hehe, fair enough. Any word on my first question regarding a possible explanation for the change from v1 to v2?

I'm seriously starting to think I should only put one question or topic in each post, heh. And I thought -my- attention span was bad. XD

There was never an "official" story behind HMW. There was an unofficial one that followed the Universe line, I believe. But there is nothing in the works for the transition. I am not working with anyone, nor do I have plans to work on a story for HMW-1. Time is of the essense to complete HMW-2.

If you guys decide to do some sort of story, all I ask is that you please steer clear from the era between Beast Wars and Beast Machines since that is going to be the official storyline.

EDIT:
Curious to know, with the fighting for terrain, etc, how is that going to work? I just recently discivered this online game; Battledawn where I have just started practising tactics on fighting for terrain. Will it be a similar structure in appearance to this? I know this is in Flash, and V2 won't be, but will it be something we can actually see, or moreso text based?

Woo, HMW-RP board! That's good news. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

Nothing in the works for transition, aye? Hmm. I s'pose my question now is, will V2 be acknowledging all that's happened in V1 and continuing on from it at all, or will it be a clean slate, fresh start thing?
