As found on Variety.com, BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) have posted their nominations for the 2008 Orange Rising Star Award to be given out at the British Academy Film Awards, to be held on February 10th.

Shia LeBouf has been nominated for his performance in the Transformers Movie. The other nominees are as follows:
- Ellen Page (“Juno”)
- Sienna Miller (“Stardust”)
- Sam Riley (“Control”) and
- Tang Wei (“Lust, Caution”)

The Award will be decided by a public vote.

for what movie?
I think he's a great actor. he could be the next Harrison Ford or Tom Hanks.
but he was in Penguin, Scary and Giant Robot movies this year. You don't need to work very hard for roles like that.
You won't beat Ellen Page.
And she's really good at acting. And her movie was about Teen Pregnancy not surfing penguins.

He is a promising star. He had a strong year with Disturbia and Transformers.

as far as I know he played/stared in.Transformers,Disturbia,Surfs Up,Holes,I Robot,The Greatest game(It was a golf movie).

I remember Shia LaBeouf when he was playing the trouble making little brother in Even Stevens, never did I think he'd go this far. Now, I thought he was great in TF, Disturbia, Holes, and Tru Confessions( TV movie he did years back) but this? Sorry but I doubt he'll win for TF. Compared to those other nominees, yeah he most likely won't even get near that award.
