I finally found Gears at a local Walmart today! No sign of Warpath, though. I wonder how short packed those two are, honestly. The pegs had several Bumblebees and Swerves, but just one lonely Gears, which I bought, of course, and no Warpath. The hunt continues! I hope Soundwave and his minions won't be as hard to find when they're eventually released.
I also picked up the reissued Optimus Prime a week or so ago. I like the shades of red and blue used much better than those on the 25th Anniversary edition from the Universe line. However, the stickers are very disappointing. They are thin and flimsy. One of the knee cap ones tore as I was peeling it off the sticker sheet. Luckily, I was able to get the other piece out without difficulty and mostly line it up so the tear isn't very obvious. Hot Rod and Starscream had nice thick stickers that were sturdy and would remain rather rigid while you applied them, making it far easier to line them up correctly. Hasbro has obviously cut costs on this reissue line already. I will say that these thinner stickers at least stick very well. I haven't had any peel up yet. I struggled a bit with Starscream to get some of the torso stickers to finally stay in place. One advantage the 25th Anniversary reissue of Optimus Prime had was the tampographed Autobot symbols on his shoulders, instead of stickers. The ones on this new one are, as I said, very thin, and the molded rivet detailing under where they are supposed to go crinkles them up. They just don't look good. I think thicker stickers would have solved that issue too.
