A whole new class centered around the Triple Changers, however instead of having two alt modes they'd function like a jet and ground vehicle.
Just some examples;
Astrotrain, Sandstorm, and Springer.
These guys function mainly as jets but have wheels when on the ground, but don't move as fast when grounded.
Broadside, Blitzwing, and Octane.
These guys function as tanks/trucks but can boost in the air like a jet, but have no maneuverability while 'gliding'.
They could be called Transporters (in honor of their main function in G1).
(If you want I could open a similar thread in the fanart forum so you can design what they might look like).

I like your trip-c idea. Maybe, though, you could just get rid of the "special attack" in vehicle mode and replace it with switching to the other vehicle. (In other words, as a penalty for having an extra mode, you don't really get a special vehicle attack.)

Sounds good to me.
Though its the Helicopter part that has me at a loss, how do propellers function in space.

They probably wouldn't make Springer a helicopter, but some kind of cybertronian jet....and tbh, it's not like Transformers have ever paid any particular attention to real life physics.
But that's a class idea if ever I heard one. XD

Perhaps an omnibot class is in order?

Lol yeah that would be awesome.

Thats what I was thinking actually;
Jet types land and morph to have wheels but lack the same speed as when airborne and don't have the boost when grounded (kinda like a big heavy armored tank).
Truck/tank types have flip out wings but aren't as fast in the air as they are on the ground and lack the maneuverability of other jets and can't boost in the air, but can boost from the ground into the air (like big bulky transport ships).
The only reason for the lost abilities is to make it slightly more fair in combat, I mean its hard to be driving after an enemy only to have them turn into a jet and get to where you can't get them. Also it provides a unique challenge to the player and allows them to be able to figure out when is the best times to use the 'Third Mode'.

i like the idea of having it instead of your vehicle ability but i think like a vehicle ability the 3rd mode should be limited and have a cooldown time..it's annoying enough as it is chasing down scientists i dont need be flanking a tank in vehicle mode and have him just transform to a jet and zip away for half the game like normal jets seem to do
