Eeyup. *facepalm*Sabrblade wrote:It's probably just flipped around backwards, with the white inner robot's waist facing forward.blackeyedprime wrote:Ultra Magnus has lost his G1 style belt/waist.
Once again, we disagree.Rodimus Prime wrote:Hmm. It's gonna be tough to choose between Siege and Kingdom Magnus. I'm buying figures mainly to display on robot mode, so the Kingdom version looks better without the greeble, and I also like the truck mode better.
No, the trailer is also a bit tweaked. It now has imitations of G1 Magnus' trailer pillars, and the shoulder pylons mount further forward so that the cab sticks out instead of being partly covered by the upper deck.Rodimus Prime wrote:But that smaller robot looks atrocious. I'm guessing the trailer/armor is the same, only the small robot/cab got reworked.
Actually, the sides themselves are a little less open, because the RiD Magnus open grating has been covered on the frontmost and rearmost panels by imitations of the G1 trailer's pillars. The extra openness comes from the cab protruding more.Hellscream9999 wrote:Omegatron. wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I'm guessing the trailer/armor is the same, only the small robot/cab got reworked.
The trailer has been modified, but only slightly. It's not that obvious unless you have Siege Magnus next to him.
yeah the sides are way more open, there might be more but that's the first thing I noticed
Magnus' transformation has been altered. The only mistransformation is failing to flip the codpiece around in armored robot mode.Overcracker wrote:Magnus is very mistransformed.
It's been changed so that the cab sticks out more, in an attempt to make him look less like RiD and more like G1. It may still be possible to connect it like the SIEGE version was, but the way it's shown is a deliberate change.Overcracker wrote:The trailer should peg in a bit further forward, to cover his inner robot arms and hands. His trailer should start over his shoulders (the red part), not back by his legs.
The SIEGE ones are equally G1, these just look more like the animation model (which had a flat, smooth right shoulder so they could put a faction symbol on it, and a dumbed-down version of the toy detailing on the left shoulder) than the toy.Overcracker wrote:Also his shoulder pieces look retooled from Siege/Netflix to be flatter and more G1
They didn't remove the frontmost panel; they replaced the frontmost and rearmost panels with new ones that have representations of the G1 toy's trailer pillars.Overcracker wrote:And it looks like his trailer panels have been retooled to removing one hinge and the front most panel. Not sure why they would do that.
For the most part, he already is. Aside from the failure to collapse the inner robot chest inward in one shot, and the failure to turn his codpiece around.Overcracker wrote:Magnus should look much better when he is properly put together in all of his modes.
No, but that's not the case here. The stock photo, the back of box photo, and the actual drawn art show it like that.Overcracker wrote:blackeyedprime wrote:Overcracker wrote:

Back of the box art shows the trailer to be that way so it is how it has meant to be attached
And the back of the box has never been wrong?
No, that's where it attached on the SIEGE version. Like I said, he's been reworked in an effort to make him look more G1. Part of that is that the shoulder pylons, to which the cab attaches, are now connected to the forward-middle trailer panels.Overcracker wrote:Nope, its definitely wrong. The red back panel attaches over the shoulders and around the smokestacks.
What you can actually make out is the forearm covers, pegged in exactly where they should be. The chest is pegged in exactly where it's supposed to be. If anything, the blue part projects downward a bit more, but that's because it's been changed to be slightly more like MP-22 than a flattened version of the G1 toy.Overcracker wrote:You can just make out the chest piece dipping down into the trailer when it should be straight when correctly transformed and pegged into the trailer side panels and the top of the shin panels.
Oh really?Overcracker wrote:The picture on the back of the box is clearly missing the shoulder pylons that attach underneath the trailer and onto the inner robot's lower leg peg.
No, I'm afraid that would be you. You are the one who is incredibly wrong. You're so wrong about this you remind me of me circa 2011-12 on certain forums...Overcracker wrote:The back of the box in this case is incredibly wrong.
Perhaps because it doesn't slide up particularly well, at least in my experience.Jeddostotle7 wrote:why does everyone seem to forget the "butt" bumper slides up to be a backpack on Siege Magnus, and thus also will on Kingdom Magnus, especially given that's what the back of the box shows is true for the latter

True, but he seems to have always had these weird ET-like fingers in the show. The sculpting of fusing them together just makes them weirder.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
The fingers themselves look straight, the "L" comes from them hanging down at a right angle to the palms.Rtron wrote:GeekyGamer Gal wrote:-Crossfire- wrote:Dinobot is kinda bittersweet for me. That, and that they seem to be sculpted in a permanent, fixed L shape.

Dinobot...
If a figure design from 1996 had the sense to bend his legs in on themselves at the knee to streamline the Beast Mode. How does a figure from 2020 botch that?
This is Masterpiece Blackarachnia all over again. I've even read those defending it in the last few pages. Just like BA... Sigh
When correctly transformed...Gauntlet101010 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's mistransformed.Gauntlet101010 wrote:Did ... did they really think giving him that big butt would be alright?
Oh, yeah, it liftes up.
That makes it a little better. Although it's still not great.
