Yeah, I think the creators of Beast Wars even touched on that. Which is why the visuals for Dinobot and Megatron are more Jurassic Park than based on current archaeological findings. Weird that Terrorsaur seemed based on neither though. As his wings didn't seem to bend, to aid his ability to stand or walk in Beast Mode

Rattrap, Inferno, and the spiders show beast mode scale is out the window. That said, a feathered Dinobot would be interesting, as has been previously demonstrated.

This doesn't stop them from making an original character with a nice heavy retool.

Agreed. But back in '96, it would have.

Which is probably one of the most hilarious things about the BW show, whether it was intended or not.
Random side note: Sadly, Terrorsaur is the reason I can't get my wife to watch BW with me. She thinks his voice is too grating.
Which sucks because I think he's a great character, for the role he's meant to fill in the show anyway.

That's my thinking as well, probably an Amazon exclusive like Earth mode Coneheads and Ironhide and Prowl

Replaced as a scientist (Tarantulas) and as the loyal muscle (Inferno) by better characters. His inclusion here is a bit off in that respect. Then again this is the Season One cast, so he kind of has to be here. Like Airazor. I don't think either of them would be winning any fan poll inclusions otherwise.
Sad thing about that Scorponok was the only Predacon loyal to Megatron (until Inferno) and for the most part the most semi capable of his followers too -except for when he had to command. He's not that bad a character in all.

Very true. Would have been great to see him as a Transmetal in S2.

Sounds right. I think the look of the robot mode they give Airazor might resolve this train of thought?
In some ways it's hard for me to imagine it being easy to turn Airazor into Terrorsaur. Seems like they have a lot more differences than just head sculpt and color scheme, to say nothing of their respective beast modes. They are kind of opposites in terms of feathers vs scales, beaks vs teeth, claws vs wings, etc. Not that I can claim to know much about the Transformer action figure creation process.

Yeagh transformers prime. Kingdoms kind of lost the play set/bases from wfc so it would be nice if they did something and I think Tarantulus would work well with it (fractyl too but he might be a bit obscure with him being a terorsaur repaint).

Might be cool to see that web-trap + computer screen setup that Tarantulus used to capture Cheetor in "The Web" episode.

Transformation wise there's no where to stick wings in, and nowhere for the jet mode fins to come from in car mode.
Maybe he'll be a new mold. Cause from what I've seen from Sunstreaker, it doesn't look he has anything for Tracks either.

There's no need to retool him. They're using engineering tricks to effect the transformations without sharing molds now.

Yup, its looking very likely to be a new mold.

They share parts if not molds per se.
Even the heavy retools we've seen from Prime and Megs, kept some parts from the original mold. Oddly enough Leader EarthRise Prime keeps not only the shins and feet from WFC Prime, but also the actual hinge for the rear tire transformation although its rendered immovable on him by the back of his shins.
I guess It could be en extensive re-engineering like Prime and Megs, and only keep the Windshield chest engineering if anything.

That would most likely end up being a wonderful toy.
I also just took another look at the little graphic from earlier today showing what is supposed to be a leak of the contents of each wave, then realized I think I'm actually pretty excited about ol' Huffer. If he's as G1-inspired-yet-updated as all the other 'bots we've seen in this toyline, then I think he's going to be an easy "yes" for me. Definitely anticipating that toy now.
Furthermore, if anything in that "leak" image is real, then:
Wave 2 excitement - Dinobot, Huffer, Magnus
Wave 3 excitement - Tracks, Rhinox
Wave 4 excitement - Waspinator, Slammer
Selects excitement - ermm...maybe Artfire. Wish it was actually RID Artfire/Hot Shot though...I got re-heeeally excited for a second there before I realized this was just an obscure geewunner I didn't know about... -_- *sigh * I'll just have to look forward with hope towards the 25th anniversary of RID/CR I guess.
