Sao far, all of Hasbro's Selects have only been redecos with or without new heads, not extensive retools like Takara's Selects.
Yeah that caught my eye as well. Maybe it'll be an Arcee redeco like that one they did at Botcon. yes, I know that was a different Arcee, but it may homage the concept of an Arcee being turned into Transmutate.
Or they could pull out the build-a-figure they released in the BW 10th anniversary line.
Am I the only one seeing Transmutate out of Paleotrex?
This is what I was thinking, too, if it's real. Makes the most sense.

-Deep Cover we already have a Netflix listing for, so unless he got moved like Barricade allegedly has been, that's not right
I probably come across as a broken record, but I think Netflix wave two Soundwave, Elita 1 and Bumblebee were intended for Earthrise before COVID screwed things up. Probably Deep Cover, Barricade, and I've been guessing Soundblaster since he's actually in the cartoon, got bumped to Selects (or Netflix wave 3) if that box really does belong to Barricade, there's been a lot of debate about that. WFC as a whole has been a bit of a disaster. The figures have been great, but the segements have been a rollercoaster. First Siege gets extended using figures intended for Earthrise, then Earthrise gets cut short because of the pandemic, then a bunch of figures intended for part 3 get shifted into Studio Series '86 when they decided to do a last minute Beast Wars theme. And that's just the confirmed changes, added in my theory above and it's been a bit of a train wreck. Thankfully it doesn't seem to have resulted in too many outright known cancellations (Polarclaw!!).
Nemesis Primal wrote:-Transmutate could maybe work as a Paleotrex repaint with a new head, but none of the Modulator repaints so far have new heads,
The Modulaters don't, though Greasepit did get some new parts not found on Ironworks while three of the Weaponizers got new heads as the Powerdashers.
Nemesis Primal wrote:-No Cores in Wave 4 doesn't feel right, WFC as a whole has yet to skip a wave with the $9.99 price point
This isn't entirely true, Earthrise Micromaster wave 3 is just repacks, no new figures. Same could be true for Kingdom.
Nemesis Primal wrote:-Don't the Commander and Titan usually come out with whichever wave hits in the summer, which would presumably be Wave 2 again this coming year and not Wave 3?
No, they usually get released late summer which is around wave 3 in a normal year that starts with wave 1 in late December/early January, wave 2 is usually around April.
Nemesis Primal wrote:-We're supposed to believe that Hasbro is going to reuse the Ramjet-specific Conehead tooling twice before reusing either of the other toolings? That doesn't really sound like a cost-efficient split
Whether Hasbro uses two molds twice or one mold 3 times and another mold once it's all the same to Hasbro. A G2 Ramjet will have a lot more recognizability than a yellow and black SG Dirge or Nacelle (who might be tricky having a regular head with Thrust's wings), which could still happen since we got a character as obscure as G2 Sandstorm.

I wouldn't be against them slowing things down a bit.
