Wanna share? I'm curious.

MAN I am so sorry, I got this thread mixed up with a TFW2005 thread since I'm always going back and forth between them.

Let's see if this works, this is my first time attaching an image on this site.

I found the image when it was shared by xd Accrocate on the TFW2005 forum called RUMOUR: BEAST WARS IN WAR FOR CYBERTRON PART 3, page 552.

Some disagreements among forum users regarding those Selects figures, hahaha.
Enjoy!

Transmutate is probably the most suspect of them since there's not really any good mold for it to be redecoed from.

Sao far, all of Hasbro's Selects have only been redecos with or without new heads, not extensive retools like Takara's Selects.

Yeah that caught my eye as well. Maybe it'll be an Arcee redeco like that one they did at Botcon. yes, I know that was a different Arcee, but it may homage the concept of an Arcee being turned into Transmutate.

Or they could pull out the build-a-figure they released in the BW 10th anniversary line.

Am I the only one seeing Transmutate out of Paleotrex?

Its got the build a figure motif already and with a quick head swap, its not too far off. Think gold and blue and your more than half way there.

Yup, its looking very likely to be a new mold.

sol magnus wrote:There's no need to retool him. They're using engineering tricks to effect the transformations without sharing molds now.

They share parts if not molds per se.

Even the heavy retools we've seen from Prime and Megs, kept some parts from the original mold. Oddly enough Leader EarthRise Prime keeps not only the shins and feet from WFC Prime, but also the actual hinge for the rear tire transformation although its rendered immovable on him by the back of his shins.

I guess It could be en extensive re-engineering like Prime and Megs, and only keep the Windshield chest engineering if anything.

Sunstreaker and Wheeljack have roughly the same transformation, but share none of the parts. It's more like they share a principle of engineering. I think they've been doing a great job. While not exactly the same, I thought the Datsuns were particularly well done in the same character, totally different toy using the same principles department. I don't see any reason why Tracks would break the 'mold' so to speak. Tracks (before Road Rage), Wheeljack (before Exhaust) and Sunstreaker (before the other ones) were all 'unique' within the Autobot Cars and so far, Sunstreaker and Wheeljack have retained that. I'm betting Tracks will, too.

True. Its looking like Prime levels of new parts and engineering for Tracks if not a new mold entirely, and they can get at least 2 more uses out of it for Selects.

Thoughts on these wave listings:
-Deep Cover we already have a Netflix listing for, so unless he got moved like Barricade allegedly has been, that's not right
-Transmutate could maybe work as a Paleotrex repaint with a new head, but none of the Modulator repaints so far have new heads, we don't yet know if Hasbro intends to release any non-fossil-colored Fossilizers, and Transmutate would be the ONLY BW character from past season 1 so far when said season 1 cast isn't even all accounted for yet, so that seems highly questionable until we see it
-No Cores in Wave 4 doesn't feel right, WFC as a whole has yet to skip a wave with the $9.99 price point
-Don't the Commander and Titan usually come out with whichever wave hits in the summer, which would presumably be Wave 2 again this coming year and not Wave 3?
-None of the leakers have talked any details about Huffer yet but one has mentioned Tracks' proportions, which makes me think the release order displayed here is incorrect/will be reversed
-We're supposed to believe that Hasbro is going to reuse the Ramjet-specific Conehead tooling twice before reusing either of the other toolings? That doesn't really sound like a cost-efficient split
-There is almost guaranteed to be more Selects than just those

It's not impossible for this to be right, but it definitely feels like someone taking shots in the dark with the listings we have and hoping for the best.

Seems like a heap of bullocks to me. I speculate that Tigatron is wave 2 (I know he’s being made in Vietnam in late June/ early July), and I don’t think a Transmutate is in the works

I'd say the toy colors Galvatron redeco is the most believable thing in that listing, since it was hinted at before.

Am I the only one seeing Transmutate out of Paleotrex?

This is what I was thinking, too, if it's real. Makes the most sense.

Nemesis Primal wrote:Thoughts on these wave listings:

I probably come across as a broken record, but I think Netflix wave two Soundwave, Elita 1 and Bumblebee were intended for Earthrise before COVID screwed things up. Probably Deep Cover, Barricade, and I've been guessing Soundblaster since he's actually in the cartoon, got bumped to Selects (or Netflix wave 3) if that box really does belong to Barricade, there's been a lot of debate about that. WFC as a whole has been a bit of a disaster. The figures have been great, but the segements have been a rollercoaster. First Siege gets extended using figures intended for Earthrise, then Earthrise gets cut short because of the pandemic, then a bunch of figures intended for part 3 get shifted into Studio Series '86 when they decided to do a last minute Beast Wars theme. And that's just the confirmed changes, added in my theory above and it's been a bit of a train wreck. Thankfully it doesn't seem to have resulted in too many outright known cancellations (Polarclaw!!).

Nemesis Primal wrote:-Transmutate could maybe work as a Paleotrex repaint with a new head, but none of the Modulator repaints so far have new heads,

The Modulaters don't, though Greasepit did get some new parts not found on Ironworks while three of the Weaponizers got new heads as the Powerdashers.

Nemesis Primal wrote:-No Cores in Wave 4 doesn't feel right, WFC as a whole has yet to skip a wave with the $9.99 price point

This isn't entirely true, Earthrise Micromaster wave 3 is just repacks, no new figures. Same could be true for Kingdom.

Nemesis Primal wrote:-Don't the Commander and Titan usually come out with whichever wave hits in the summer, which would presumably be Wave 2 again this coming year and not Wave 3?

No, they usually get released late summer which is around wave 3 in a normal year that starts with wave 1 in late December/early January, wave 2 is usually around April.

Nemesis Primal wrote:-We're supposed to believe that Hasbro is going to reuse the Ramjet-specific Conehead tooling twice before reusing either of the other toolings? That doesn't really sound like a cost-efficient split

Whether Hasbro uses two molds twice or one mold 3 times and another mold once it's all the same to Hasbro. A G2 Ramjet will have a lot more recognizability than a yellow and black SG Dirge or Nacelle (who might be tricky having a regular head with Thrust's wings), which could still happen since we got a character as obscure as G2 Sandstorm.

Nemesis Primal wrote:-There is almost guaranteed to be more Selects than just those

I wouldn't be against them slowing things down a bit. ;)

Agreed on both accounts.

The comments I've seen about the Barricade thing have been that the Selects box being present is/was misinformation and that one of the credible leakers says Barricade got moved to a Galactic Odyssey set, but no one has said that that Selects box actually goes to Barricade. That doesn't mean Deep Cover couldn't have been moved, but it would be odd for that Netflix wave to have just been completely cut in half, especially when it's the new figures getting cut and not the dirty repaints no one wants.

EDIT: I saw the Takara Soundblaster, but they're releasing that instead of the Hasbro version we already got with the Con emblem and the more damaged chest door, so I dunno that that means we should expect a second Soundblaster from Hasbro.

Correct, I'm simply saying we can't assume what a potential Fossilizer mold reuse will have in terms of new parts, since Greasepit was the exact opposite of what the Powerdashers made us expect from that kind of repaint by having new parts instead of a new head, then Hot House was the opposite of what Greasepit made us expect by having nothing new, and we've got a rumor of another Ironworks mold use in a GO set with no idea of it's new part situation.

Yes, but if this is supposed to be the complete wave breakdown for the line, and it includes the repacks of Arcee, Wheeljack, and Starscream, then shouldn't it have SOMETHING listed for that Wave 4 Core spot, regardless of it being a repack? I was counting ER Wave 3 when I made that statement since that wave wasn't skipped by having nothing release, it just didn't include specifically new product.

Woot! So, do you guys think we have enough to finally make a decent top 5 Wheeljack toys list?
I know what my number 1 and 2 are, just not sure where the rest come into play since they are all quite samey. And I would love to wait to see if we get one for Cyberverse.

Is it me, or is Soundblaster taking "chest day" way too seriously? :-D

Looks like he fits 2 minions comfortably.

It's not comfortable. This is basically the same toy we got through Walmart last year, which had the larger chest. And the reviews were not great on it in terms of that added double casette feature.

Fellow Seibertronian Wonkothesane has told us of some nice new images of the anticipated Beast Wars figures we are getting soon:

The 'Hobbymizer Studio' Facebook page has posted new stock photos of the upcoming Kingdom Optimus Primal, Cheetor, And Rattrap figures. Optimus Primal is shown close up and from multiple angles we haven't seen before.

Fellow Seibertronian Sabrblade shared that those photos are found on the TTMall product pages where they can be preordered for Japanese fans. We learn there that Paleotrex is a TTMall exclusive in Japan.

Arm cannons on BOTH arms? Nice.

Definitely picking up Prime and Cheetor, they'll go great with Generations Rhinox. Will probably skip Rattrap just because I already have the Generations version, but he looks like a decent version if you didn't pick that up earlier.

Now I just need to see a new Dinobot to complete the original five...

I like the figures well enough, and Primal's robot mode is great, but is it just me or is the face on the ape mode just too off? Like he has a pout/defiant look that I don't remember him having in the entire run of the show?

Eh, he's just tired of Rattrap and Dinobot being at each other's throats.
I'm more concerned about the lower abdomen on Boss Monkey as I still can't tell if it is supposed to be a mis-transformed rump, or he's taking a few design ques from Heinrad. The furry portion there just seems so out of place and hanging down awkwardly.

I am going to find a way to get the big purple dino though. I'm loving how realistic they're making him. I'm also curious on how the rumored Dinobot will look.
You know, as a kid I never made the connection between the G1 Sideswipe toy my brother passed down to me and the characters in the Beast Wars show on TV, until Michael Bay had Sideswipe as a Corvette.
