What G.I. Joe crossover?

Might have been speculation? not sure since there has been that many ideas thrown around since the Delorean/back to the future.

There was a GI Joe Transformer set of some variety in the leak list from a while ago that included Exhaust, Greasepit, Hubcap, Rotorstorm, Thrust, the Cyberverse sets that just got found, and the other Selects figures we haven't seen yet.

EDIT: Link to our news team's article on it: https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-toys-found-on-toysrus-system-with-thrust-hubcap-exhaust-g2-megatron-bugbite-and-more/44559/

Normally we get our first preview of the next line at SDCC, though Siege bucked that trend last year by extending Siege with an extra wave which was shown instead last year. Earthrise wasn't revealed until NYCC last year and with all the delays caused by Siege and COVID I'm thinking we'll have to wait until October to see anything official from Kingdom. It's fine, we still need confirmation of ER wave 4's contents and whatever is happening with Studio Series.

So, I have no actual source for this outside of a tweet from @damnyouwillis on Twitter so if anyone knows more about the actual leak, feel free to give more details, but there's this "leaked list for wave 1" and uh... Welp, I'll just post the image
Image

I doubt that the list is real outside of the ones we know are coming in Kingdom, but I think it's still worth at least mentioning. Most of my skepticism is due to lack of a proper source, but if there's any actual merit, that'd be cool. I've been hoping for a new Tracks (and Road Rage) for a while since the last one is a bit too chunky

Apparently that particular list/screenshot came from 4chan, which already makes it questionable, but it also reeks of someone taking the stuff we know is coming, making up some fake pun names to be potential Fossilizers, grabbing Tracks because they're incredibly likely to show up somewhere, and smashing them all together and calling it a "leak". I don't even know what a "Mutant Rodimus" is supposed to MEAN....

That being said, if Tracks doesn't show up by the end of the trilogy, with Road Rage and hopefully Loudpedal in tow, I will be shocked.

I think the "Mutant Rodimus" is the person's guess at what the credible leaker's hint about Leader Rodumus being "contentious/divisive" (paraphrasing, forget the exact wording) in some way will mean, assuming it'll mean some kind of Beast Rodimus.

Personally, as much as a Beast Rodimus would be awesome, I don't think Hasbro's gonna be turning any G1 characters into Beasts, aside from possibly Optimus/Megatron. My guess is it's gonna be to G1 Rodimus what Earthrise Optimus was to G1 Optimus: a direct update of the play pattern, with an Optimus-height Rodimus figure with a "trailer" that turns into a battle station. It being "contentious/divisive" in my prediction is just the fact it'll probably be a tad bit cheap, like Earthrise Optimus' trailer admittedly was.

Hopefully Roddy will actually be a little taller than ER Optimus. I look forward to him in any case.
Also, with him I think the battle station will be less underwhelming. It won't have to be as long as Optimus' since it's a camper shell rather than a semi trailer, freeing up mass for better uses. There's less complexity to risk loss of in the adaptation.
Also, Roddy himself shouldn't gobble as much of the parts and engineering budgets as ER Optimus' cab robot did.

Yeah, the credible leaker said that Rodimus has a trailer, so it'd be pretty weird for him to be a "mutant".

Unless... Unless it's some weird homage to Mutant Beast Wars in that Rodimus actually has no robot mode and transforms from vehicle mode to beast mode.

Somehow, I highly doubt we'll see an homage to the Mutants. Those, after all, were just a way to salvage investment in molds that had been developed for the stupid Animorphs line.

My biggest question is ..what's the Core prefix mean?? And if G1 Inferno (a toy we already knew was bound to happen) is going to be in alongside Beast Wars characters, then a Leader trailer-ed out Hotrod makes perfect sense

For the time being I'll say that 4Chan "leak" is fake, but I'll admit the name "Byte Marx" did make me laugh. Is he like Sky-Byte but instead of breaking out into poetry and haiku he quotes the Communist Manifesto?
As for Rodimus Prime, I agree with others on here that it's probably going to be just a straight update of the G1 toy with more advanced articulation and a cartoon accurate robot mode, and the "divisive" part will just be that, like most of the War for Cybertron Leaders, it won't really be worth the $50 price tag.

It's still a Leader's worth of mass and parts, which seems to be the main thing Hasbro cares about. I think it'll work out better for Roddy than it did for Optimus, since Roddy's camper shell has less to diminish than G1 Optimus' trailer.

IMO it's a better use of the class than the likes of Combiner Wars Megatron and Thundercracker; it's the problem with the Leader class in G1, you didn't have a whole lot of big individuals. I'd rather have "Voyager with extra crap" Leaders than "Dynamax Starscream" again, especially when the original toy came with extra crap that's been left out on the newer ones.

Nah, see, he's Byte Marx because of how, one morning, he bit a Maximal in his pajamas. How the Maximal got into Byte Marx's pajamas he'll never know. ;)

Apparently it's basically just so they can have a another new Optimus and Megatron without taking up a slot in a larger class.

I guess I just need to stopy worrying about each figure making sense in relation to the accompanying fiction. Sometimes it's just a tiny Optimus.

I just hope they have some sort of awesome paint apps to make them different. There will have been 3 Megatrons (and even more Primes) available before the core one. 4 if you count the 35th Anniversary version.

Yeah, like, the DOTM toyline even had a Deluxe class Optimus when he towers over most other Autobots in the movies.

Isn't Sentinel only slightly taller than Optimus? Not so much a size discrepancy to justify making a Deluxe to go with a Voyager. Best I can tell looking around Optimus is 28' and Sentinel is 30'.

Core class, a new size class replacing the Micromasters, akin to the old Basic/Scout/Legends class size.

Well, then how do we go from a Voyager Prime in ER to a Core Prime in Kingdom? Does Megatron find a shrink ray or something?

Apparently it's basically just so they can have a another new Optimus and Megatron without taking up a slot in a larger class.

I just hope they have some sort of awesome paint apps to make them different. There will have been 3 Megatrons (and even more Primes) available before the core one. 4 if you count the 35th Anniversary version.

I think the size difference will make them different enough ;) These are going to be much simpler then they voyager forebears. Maybe like the Legends class of old.
