Burn wrote:Can you use money to upgrade your intelligence in the real world?
Thought not.
And yes I realise HMW isn't the real world, but again, that's giving one class of person an advantage over another.
People need to suck it up and earn xp the old fashioned way, by working for it instead of looking for easy ways out.

Experience is the summary of everything you learn from the victories and defeats of war, and that can't be bought.

any takes on this?
Someone else brought this up a few pages back I believe. I think it was another Autobot player actually...
Bad idea because those with the most energon to spend are the ones with the most XP already, which would just make it easier for the haves to continue gaining.
Maybe he is suggesting we spend REAL money to buy XP - not spend energon for XP.
This would bring the site more money and maybe with the influx of dough we can get the code fixes/changes we need/want done.
I'm willing to donate some big bucks for XP.
In all reality though, I would like to be able to have the option to spend EXTRA energon to shorten the CR time.
Maybe pay 10 times the cost to shorten CR chamber time to half?
This way people eat up their extra energon quickly - as opposed to those who are patient/broke.
Then again make it VERY spendy to half the CR time like:
(10x(normal recharge cost)) x character level
Something that's expensive, for only a minor benefit - but could be used wisely to get a small advantage for any one of yer characters.
Absolute Zero wrote:I've seen what happens when you use real money to buy things in a online game. The teens and those with good jobs who have a lot of cash to blow are the ones who do it. Mean while, those without the free cash to burn stagnate. The point of the game is the slog through missions and the arena earning XP.

Burn:Anyone notice how much of a boring party pooper N_V is? He doesn't join in the fun, he's spent the last few years with dodgy builds feeding XP to the Autobots, and he sure as heck doesn't spam.

Sure you can.
Have you ever paid to goto a university? Even if someone goes to a college and flunks out - they are even marginally smarter than when they went in.
Thats just one example.
Many folks pay to learn a new trade, take a cooking class, buy books to read, all of these in effect raise one's intelligence. Marginaly - sometimes and only in a specific field - but acuiring knowledge is best through study. Studying is hard work - yes - but it is also NEVER FREE.
Aside from that - keep in mind, TFs are robots. Upgrades are part of the entire storyline. I can spend more money on my PC and upgrade my ram and motherboard. To earn energon *IS* doing the hard work portion of the game.

Hellraiser44 removes Bruce Lee mask to reveal he is really CHUCK NORRIS and OBLITERATES burn and his stupid signature.
