I think turning into a cop car with "To punish and enslave" defeats the purpose of said cop car. But who would turn into that? :-?

I think BM Rattrap was probably the most useless bot for his era in both modes. An organic punk rat ain't going to do much against big tank Vehicons and he isn't even armed with a water pistol in his robot alt. So the guy can crack a few codes but who's going to help peel him off the wall?

Then it's looking pretty dismal for the Autobots - Soundwave was the Decepticon tapedeck. Though there was the Autobot one...Blaster?

And Energon Ironhide's exposed head in alt mode isn't right by any stealth standards. Or just any standards really.

Yea I allways wondered why Soundwave can turn into a tape deck by himself but it takes 3 robots to form a camera.

Reflector definatly has my vote for world's worst combiner.

Maybe the Reflectors are just really small transformers? And I think Blaster's a communications expert, but how they get that from a stereo is beyond me.

His alt mode allows him to access Autobot City's communication array (see animated movie). Given the size of the access point it may also have been designed for humans to use as well.

As for Reflector, tiny camera = hard to detect surveillance.

Just remember this is about who has the most "useless" alt mode, not the most dumbest looking.

Huffer once towed Prime's trailer when Prime was injured and couldn't do it himself.

Being a mini-bot doesn't automatically make them small, they were only small toy wise. Cartoon/comic they were pretty much regular sized TF's and alts.

Worst alt-mode? Not counting mini-cons my money would have to be on Gunrunner. He transformers into a landing gear while his backpack turns into a fighterplane to which he attaches. On top of that, as a pretender with a jet alt-mode his pretender shell is..... a larger jet! His part in this jet pretender shell? If he isn't piloting it, he is the floor board of the cockpit. He can be the wheels for his alt-mode or the floor of his pretender, can we get much lamer?

Oh wait, he has the automobile pretender shell which he can be the floor board for. So his Pretender mode is even less useful then I thought. Yah!

TV series had a ditzy blond with an anoing voice playing the part of Trillian. I'm not sure he even read the book or he'd know Trillian was the smartest character in that series not a blond stereotype.

Oh and the series only lasted 6 episodes which covered all of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy exactly as the book had it and part of Resturant at the end of the Universe. Mostly only the parts with Ford and Arthur in them.

Anyway back to worst alt mode...

How about anyone who transforms into pants. You know, like Armada Jetfire.
