sambotroy wrote:Two things to remember
1. The Bay Transformers sometimes look like their G1 counterpart and sometimes they have absolutely no resemblance at all in alt mode or face (Megatron and Soundwave for example) so comparing this dude to a G1 cartoon does little good.
2. The movie story lines are new but the backgrounds bear a resemblance to G1 storylines.
There are a couple of deactivated Transformers in the trailer and the storyline of the ark plus introduction of Shockwave as the main villain means that those on the ark are in fact the Dinobots, moustache man is likely to be Snarl, although he looks a lot like the Dinobot combiner too.
Bay had mentioned he wanted to introduce the Dinobots eventually and the Pretender Alice in ROTF was to show robots can have a living skin on the outside of metal.

"Dinobots!" Orci added. "I think, eventually, the Dinobots are going to have to happen."
Plus Bay always says the opposite or changes his mind to divert attention

Sort of.
Remember, 4 million years ago there were no Dinosaurs on Earth, but in the Marvel Universe there is the Savage Land.
Shockwave had arrived on Earth and landed in the Savage Land. The Ark, sensing Shockwave, repaired and reformatted thev Dinobots to combat Shockwave.
Bradimus wrote:Ah. Thank you for the plot note. Unfortunately I have only read a few Marvel comics, so the only things that stand out to me are the difference I've learned via reading character wiki threads or discussions with those who read the line.
I guess that's why sambotroy is seeing a movie Dinobot connection to Shockwave.
[/quote]Oh well, missed opportunities happen all the time. I still enjoy the movie, and maybe I won't have to wait too much longer to see something like that happen in a later film. I mean, what's another 25 years anyway?

Lets just hope that he's not gonna be jerk-like like in Animated. He was cool, but his personality, most of it was ... unpleasant. The only thing that was wrong with the character.

I seriously doubt this will be the case. SP in the Animated series..just looked like a jerk. Movievese SP looks like he'll be a strong leader full of wisdom. I don't know how to explain it, he just has the mature face). Animated SP just looked like an arogant showoff.
