While that's a cool idea (I'd love it) I do believe that Hasbro will stick to their formula. I guess 1986 was a scary year for Hasbro.

Yeah it seems like when Hasbro's got it's mind made up,their really stuburn about it. they don't budge.

Honestly the only way veteran TF fans get their TF wish list filled. is when Takara goes ROGUE & does TF stuff on their own. like those masterpiece TF toys & other TF side projects they do from time to time.

Come to think about it, Takara is the more experimental party. In terms of toys and show ideas.

-edit-

Hasbro does listen to older fans and fill our lists. Look at CHURUG (we need a better word for this, people). Takara is just more diverse, models, 'candy' toys, crossovers, kits and so on...

their is honestly no way to know which company is responsible for CHURUG. Hasbro & takara might be 50/50 on it. or one company might be taking the lead a bit more.

I'm gonna guess that CHURUG was takara's idea & takara keeps pushing the envelope to create more new molds.

From my guesses,All hasbro likes to create these days is ugly movie styled TF toys. or playschool styled animated/TF Prime toys.

I could see Hasbro running more than one series (shows) and more than one main toyline based on those series now that the movies are done. There's a huge space in the marketplace to be filled once all the DOTM/movieverse hype/collecting (by kids, not us since we make a small dent in sales generally speaking) and Animated fits the bill nicely. It has familiar characters, is more child oriented (Prime is a bit dark).

They have Rescuebots or whatever, but I doubt that line will ever take off too much, maybe with the preschool crowd if Hasbro does an early morning show for it or something.

Either way, I think Hasbro can profit from running concurrent, unrelated TF shows and toylines based on them now that the movie line is coming to a close. I'm sure they'll start focusing again on Generations/RTS (or whatever they chose to call it next), but that has always been a background line targeted mainly at us collectors. 2 shows with 2 separate toylines would likely make a lot of money for Has/Tak at this point.

CHURUG is a 50-50 effort I'm sure. Which company did what is guesswork at best, so claiming that Takara pushed it is a longshot, especially considering that with both the Classics line and Universe 2.0 Hasbro was way ahead with releases. Takara didn't release anything up untill Henkei, even. And consider that Hasbro released far more toys in to that line then Takara did. Think about Skullgrin, Thunderwing, tank Megatron and those 'special editions'.

Takara sticks to the better known characters (for their market at least) and gets creative with a more select number of characters.

Plus, keep in mind that design esthetics are a matter of taste.

I might have been DREAMING but I could have sworn I read something on the internet around the 2011 june/july month. regarding derrick wyatt's secret animated project he was working on for Hasbro. I & others guessed that derrick wyatt was working on a season 4 & 5 animated cartoon series that was going to be airing on the Hub network. I was kinda hoping that if this happened we'd get a few animated season 4 & 5 toys out of it in various toy sizes like deluxe,voyager & leader sizes.

I don't remember this. I DO remember Wyatt saying that he'd love to do Season 4 as a comic format, though, when he was interviewed in the TFCC mag.

Also, RHA, your sig image is VERY distracting and makes me wonder how I'm going to explain what I'm doing if my wife looks over my shoulder while reading the boards.

dont worry that megatron fig will probably be a tfcc exclusive for around 500$ 8-}
then hell be a bbts exclusive for 59.99

or hell be a takara exclusive for 150.00
and then a little while later hell be on amazon for 59.99
8-} 8-}

on a serious note that was a fantastic looking mold and it is a shame we never got it.
come to thik of it he does share some design cues with tfp megs so who knows maybe unicron beefs him up and this becomes his new form.i could see it. :-?

I'd love to see something completely new, similar to beast wars. Though hasbro seems to determined to just, reinvent the wheel over and over. Honestly, it is pretty tried to see a new variation of prime, megatron, soundwave, starscream, bumblebee ect. over and over again.

I feel like transformers is falling into this norm though. That we are always going to just see reimaginings of the same thing over and over again. Nothing fresh or unique. I think people might freak out if things dont transform into cars though. It'll be ruined forever all over again. I say, oh well. I hope the next series isn't yet another g1 re-do.

Well, I'm in full agreement with alot of you! look back at RID and Armada, Energon, and Cybertron! Not a Bumblebee for miles! Granted, there was HotShot and Sideburn, bu they didn't get 20=repaints a line, and they were always unique! That's why I like the anime versions of Transformers (oh, and beast wars and beast machines) Original!
A New series like RID can come along can't it? A mixture of Autobot, Decepticon, and Predicon would be pretty cool by today's standards. They would find a way to throw in bumblebee, but at least in prime, he's not the CONSTANT Spotlight, right?

Going back to what Burn said- I agree- it would be nice for Transformers to move forward with something fresh for a change.

What else is new?
People always get upset pretty much no matter what. Even if they adhere to the standard formula. It's always "ruined forever"

I doubt people would mind if they moved on with something fresh and new so long as they didnt completely leave behiend the oldies. I am of the opinion that once they give us all our generation oldies people wouldnt mind if they put out an entirely new show/figures and changed everything including the main two.Maybe they wouldnt even have to call it transformers.
Personally I think toys and toons are a dying breed and we should feel damn lucky that our favorite line is not only still around but has somehow managed to stay on shelfs and t.v. stations in one form or another since the eighties. Most Other brands have made their comebacks and sank or never even managed to tread water but transformers has been a constant and shows no sign of going anywhere in the near future.
You gotta believe that it has alot to do with characters that are so strong that they continue to entertain new generations of children while keeping the attention of older fans. Maybe the big brass are of the opinion that in such a fragil time if it aint broken why fix it?
Having said that I still maintain that most would embrace a new direction so long as the oldies stay in some form and so long as the fresh idea that is supposed to inject new life into the series dosent end up killing the whole damn brand as dramatic change has done.....well....EVERY TIME ITS TRIED as far as I can remember.
