I'm gonna watch Thew's review in half speed as many times as I can with the good old steadycam transformation!

I fiddled without the instructions and figures about 75% of the transformation out myself. The rest flow d really easy after that. The trick is to not let it intimidate you.

I really am so totally confused by this, the figure just came out and has it's issues, and is having a second run that is only slightly higher than the 1st run...who in the heck would be 200+ for this figure on ebay when you can get it at retail...oh well if someone buys it for that price, god bless.

You should check out Paik4Life's review he has two one to gun mode and the other to bot mode they are longish but informative, IMO.

In other news, I got my shipping confirmation today so I am stoked that Polly will be here on Friday

So I didn't watch the review again, just went ahead with it and figured it out myself, like the old days took 30 minutes, and I found a leg panel that has a screw that would work better as a pin, but he's AWESOME in gun mode!! Some gaps here and there, but awesome!!

So he's back in bot mode and the hips don't stay locked in to the pelvis, the flappy piece on the right leg seems to be worse, and the leg panel I mentioned above on the outside of the left leg (pistol grip section) will not stay screwed in. I think I may be sending him back

Did you pull the tabs out on the crotch that tab into the hip flap , i didnt notice they fold up make sure they are pulled out and it should be fine just make sure you have both tabs clicked in

Its almost a solid unit. my big gripes are the shoulder fix being too tight and some dodgy paint here and there nothing to major i guess

edit. i do feel there is some really flimsy plastic in parts mainly the trigger inside the legs those could snap off easy

Finally got my hands on him, no QC issues on mine, everything goes where it's supposed to a couple of paint nick's here and there but nothing I haven't seen on a Takara figure. Overall he's a great figure, he is not a home run however, the transformation is kind fiddly and somewhat reminiscent of MP-09 (which is a figure I really like BTW), the gun mode was a little gappy during the first transformation, but I think I just need to get used to the process. The paint overall seen fine to me, however there is some small chipping on the head and gunbarrel due to very fine tolerances during transformation. Bottom line for me he is still a must buy for Masterpiece collectors, however Quakewave still holds the 3rd Party MP crown.

Orange plugs, the metal barrel one just pulled out, it didn't appear to have any glue in it, the silencer barrel however was glued in tight, the hitting it on the floor on top of a screwdriver method worked for me, it took 2 or 3 whacks but no damage to any parts in doing so.

AG: I'm pretty sure I had those extended but I'll check again when I get home. As far as I could tell, there were at least two tabs on the hip side plugging into the crotch piece that just would not stay.

X: He is so damn awesome looking. I really can't find any paint issues with mine, and maybe some clear polish will help that panel on the right leg (part of the front strap of the gun mode) stay back in robot mode and help those tabs if they need it, and maybe I can find a longer screw for the grip panel on the left leg. I'm REALLY trying to convince myself to keep him. After changing him to a gun (and I know you like the gun Megatron like me) I had a "holy shirt that's mother flippin' Megatron" moment (replace words as you see fit )

I've also noticed after transforming (a transformation which I was VERY slow and deliberate with) there are some stress marks on panels. That said, I went from robot to gun and back and he can stand on his own without a lean, even if the hip un-tabs

Also, considering this is my first 3rd party figure, I wouldn't be opposed to buying more 3rd party figures of this style. Warts and all, he's no worse than TRU MP Rodimus.

He is at least as good as, if not better than, any of the recent non-masterpiece offerings from Hastak. especially when you consider that is made by a company that is not a major global corporation. i've put them in his rightful place on my masterpiece shelf, and you can't tell he's not from the same company. The only issue mine had was the blue shoulder joints, which was a known problem before hand, and a fix was provided. And boy howdy is that new shoulder joint tight.

You're jumping to conclusions. None of what I've read in this thread leads me to believe this figure has problems that rival their Huffer/Pipes figure, or say KFC figures.

So BBTS is going to pull some parts for me whenever they become available to replace my loose flappy dealie thing on the right leg and the outer panel on the left leg. Their customer service is AMAZING. If that doesn't work out, exchange/refund. I wouldn't be able to justify having TWO Megatrons with issues (MP-05/Apollyon)

I am going to double check to make sure the tabs coming from the inside of the pelvis are tabbing in to the hip panel. I'm beginning to think I forgot about them.

I forgot about them first time I changed him back to robot mode.

Mine has no QC issues. Transformed the toy back and forth a few times while watching video reviews.

Think X-T Apollyon is a far better toy than MP-05 and TW Hedgemon.

About Ten years ago this would have upset me. but nowadays I simply don't care.

This statement might be justified a bit. If one didn't think TW Hedgemon was still the supeior gun bot G1 Megatron update toy in existence.

Their are forums threads on different sites full of QC problems that TW Hedgemon has. So far X-T Apollyon has galaxies less QC problems than Hedgemon has.

The sculpting on Apollyon looks more like G1 Megatron than Hedgemon does.

That piece is for the 'second configuration' of the Cannon mode for the spare gun parts when in robot mode. KIND of like it a little better then 'first configuration' and I let Frenzy sit there, but it needs Megatrons arm cannon to look right and he's usually using it

my arms pop off just by looking at them funny, but haven't worked up the nerve yet to try replacing them yet. Also having that hip problem mentioned above... may have to look for hidden tabs or something when I get home tomorrow. THOUGHT I was doing it right...

I REALLY had a heck of time getting his hands out. I pushed one in so that the thumb part was on top (if that makes sense) and those ultra articulated fingers got caught inside the arm gap and it took Forever trying to get them out... ended up popping off ever finger and scratching up some knuckles (mine and his) with exacto's and tweezers... but finally got it free. instructions show to keep the fingers facing out... I had more luck with back of hand facing out... but that 'inbetween' top of fist facing out is just WRONG... did not work at all.


I'm torn on the figure itself. The robot looks awesome. and he turns into the gun I know and love. However, the transformation is so figgedy, I REALLY don't see myself transforming him very often.

The only other 3pp I have is Gcreations Thunderous (sludge) and I love him... Had a few tricky parts in transforming, but I've changed him back and forth a dozen times now and love it. Apollyon? I don't see that happening.

Now as a robot display? He's glorious. For $150? it... is questionable.

Accessories? I don't know, I'm not usually the one wanting LESS accessories, but I think the ones we got were pretty lame. The Asteroid chest panel and the helmet were so obscure I can guarantee I'll never use them. The gun and lightsaber barely stay in the hands (WAY too articulated fingers... no grip there!)

The mace/flail and key to vector sigma? I love these! Got both on display now. May try to use the lightsaber later if I can...

Overall, I'm glad I got him. He'll look better when I have my MP-10 Prime rerelease... but Looks awesome as is

In the meantime, I also swapped the two screws on the outer gun grip panel on the left leg. Seems to hold slightly better, so now my only issue is the flap on the inside of the right leg!! Woo!!

Apollyon looks great. Better than that other one. I see everyone's mad because it didn't meet their expectations, describing it and making it seem as the figure has the same quality as an Age of Extinction toy. I don't want to think about it.

He does look great. SCREAMS Megatron. As far as aesthetics go, I don't see where they really could change him to make him "better". The tolerances on some parts are stressed but the way it all comes together is remarkable. Personally I was just worried the things I needed to fix wouldn't actually get "fixed" and I'd have another MP-05. That doesn't seem to be the case for most, which is awesome.

Did you end up getting one too?
