BACKGROUND:
Phantomstrike is one of two survivors of what was once a Decepticon stronghold sector, called Phantom Zone. After one of Optimus Prime’s successful offensive campaigns against the Decepticons, Phantom Zone was destroyed. In that defeat, which led to many more, laid only two damaged warriors, named Phantomstrike and Phantomfire. Phantomstrike was in stasis lock by the time a team of Decepticons, led by Treadware, but the stasis lock was not enough. He needed immediate repairs. Since the command center was destroyed, there were no readily available spare parts and energon to use. The maintenance soldier had no choice but to salvage parts from the dead Decepticons. Treadware donated some of his Energon to Phantomstrike so that he would not fade into oblivion. Ever since that day, Phantomstrike has pledged his loyalty to Treadware, and vowed to stay alive in memory for all his fallen comrades, since he carried within him the “souls” of many Phantom Zone soldiers.
