BACKGROUND:
With new technologies being developed on Cybertron, Treadware convinced Megatron to allow him to build a prototype warrior. This new technology will allow a Transformer to have extra armor, a shell essentially, to aid the warrior in battle.

Taking notice of more underwater Autobots being created, Treadware fashioned this new protoform into a Earth-styled submarine. Phantomfire used the human's fear of sharks to design the shell. In which Sub-merge could pretend to be a sea creature, travel faster underwater, take more hits, and have his personal decoy.
