Profile
How Mosurah arrived on Earth is a mystery. All that is known is that she arrived on Earth a long time ago. It has been speculated that she is a lost protoform from the Axalon, who was somehow missed by the advent of the Beast Wars, or that she was a part of the Ark’s crew who was in some way jettisoned during that ships fateful crash. The facts are muddled, as she adapted to an organic alternate mode but is too big to be a post-Great War Maximal, yet there are no records of her ever being on the Ark, and the crew of that ship don’t recognise her.
Whatever the case, Mosurah ended up in what would become ancient Japan. Adapting to the local wildlife when she awoke, Mosurah chose the form of a moth. An unfortunate glitch in her chameleon circuitry however meant that her mass conversion system did not kick in, and she remained at her robot mode size in beast mode. Fearing what damage she could do to the fledgling humanoid civilization if she remained, Mosurah fled to a remote island in what would come to be known as the Pacific, and shut down all her essential systems, waiting for her fellow Transformers to find her.
The years passed, and human life emigrated to even this remote patch of land. Eventually humans, primitive even by their standards, found the sleeping Autobot and began to worship this giant moth that they discovered as a God. After many years of this, Mosurah was awoken when two psychic minds, probing her subconscious, triggered a defence reflex. Waking to find herself surrounded by prostrate humans, and twin voices talking to her in her mind, Mosurah decided that her best course of action was to play along with the humans until she worked out what to do next. And so, Mosurah became the ancient protector of Infant Island, driving off all evil influences, while explaining about who she really is to those twin psychics, known locally as the “Cosmos”.
Recently, the Cosmos disappeared from Infant Island, and Mosurah left to find them. Encountering the Autobot team The Angels of Absolution, and hearing of all that had transpired in the universe since she vanished, Mosurah agreed to join them, with the proviso that her quest to find the Cosmos would be her priority.
After the dissolution of the Angels of Absolution, Mosurah returned to Earth in a fit of depression. In her absence, Infant Island had been claimed by the UN and all of the Earths benign Monsters had been transplanted there. Some months later and an explosion of Matrix energy in the atmosphere changed the other monsters, giving them new robot modes. Adopting the name “Spectura”, she revealed herself the other monsters, and took it upon herself to guide them in the ways of the Autobots. However, for reasons best known to herself, she elected to call the faction Maximals, and restricted their operations to Earth and it’s local space. She still hasn’t forgotten about the Cosmos, but refuses to search for them again.
Abilities
Spectura has average strength, below average firepower, above average intelligence, and is capable of flight in robot mode. She is a reluctant fighter, but can hold her own against most other mid-size monsters. In robot mode she carries a laser pistol, and can fire lightning rays from the antennae over her shoulders. As a giant moth, she can reach Mach 1, use her lightning rays and can create massive gusts of wind by flapping her wings at speed near the ground. Her experience is a good guide for the rest of the Kaijubots, although she refuses to take command unless Gojira Prime is incapacitated.
Weaknesses
She not particularly manoeuvrable, and her wings are easily damaged, making her beast mode useless. Currently, she is under a cloud of depression, although she tries hard to hide it. Her greatest weakness is her devotion to the Cosmos, and this can be used to goad her into ambushes or other difficult situations.
