About Nitrobots

The Nitrobots, originally dubbed the Novacons, were built by Shockwave and Soundwave in secret to serve the Decepticon cause. The Autobots learned of their creation due to the valiant effort of a group of spies. The incomplete Novacons where stolen from the lab where they were awaiting the sparks that would bring them to life and taken to Alpha Trion, who reprogrammed them to serve the Autobots, and renamed them. Thus the Nitrobots where created.
It was during a major engagement between Megatrons forces and the Autobots on the outskirts of Iacon that the Nitrobots saw their first combat with great success. The Decepticons had the Autobots on the run, forcing them ever closer to a crushing defeat. Just as all hope seemed lost the Nitrobots arrived. Carried into battle by Celestian the Nitrobots dropped into the middle of the Decepticon battle line and systematically destroyed whole squads of Megatrons army. They where relentless and merciless in their carnage, destroying any Decepticon that got in their way. It took several minutes for Megatron to realise what was happening, and seeing his forces being decimated he ordered a full retreat. After the battle Optimus Prime met the Nitrobots in the centre of their slaughter. Fearing the worst however, he had brought his best warriors with him. The Nitrobots leader, Land Raider, however greeted Optimus Prime like a long lost brother, and when told how Alpha Trion had given them life and trained them, Optimus Prime welcomed the Nitrobots to the ranks of the Autobots.
