According to his post, TF Wiki claims that the 3rd cycle (purple bike) Autobot name is "Flare Up". See the link below:
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Flareup_(ROTF))
Real Devastator also stated that the Transformers Hasbro Panel also confirm this at the San Diego Comic Convention.
More information on this revalation as it becomes available.

If they make a female movie Decepticon, first off it should N OT be another effing spider. Second, the names they should use are Strika, Flamewar, or Shadow Striker. Those are all very good female decepticon names so far. Yet they keep rehashing spider forms and the name Blackarachnia. If they're going to give us a spider-bot in one of the movies it had better be Tarantulas.

.... but the red one should have been named Firestar.
HASBRO can't use that name due to trademark reasons. I think Marvel comics is still using the name.
But I knew her name was going to be either Firestar or Flare Up. I've been telling my friends about after the movie premiered.

yeah...when are we gonna get more female Autobots toys anyways? i think it's about time Chromia and Flare Up had toys.

@Mechastrike: Hey you mentioned that you knew in advance that the name "Flare Up" was going to be that purple Arcee bike. When did you first hear of the name? Did one of the writers decide to just come up with any name post-movie release after seeing me posting in the Seibertron.com forums? I'm really annoyed by this. If they did take the idea from me, I wish they would have at least kept the name: "Flare" and not make it sound repulsive.

There is no hyphen. Who said there was?

I actually knew her name was either gonna be Flare Up or Firestar because she was RED.

They can't use Moonracer. It's trademarked. And so is Firestar, which is why they used Flareup instead.

The combination was mentioned in the novelization. The toys are/were supposed to be able to do it. It was, however, dropped from the film.

But Chromia has an unused combination peg in her back, that's completely pointless in either mode. Arcee has one too, if I'm not mistaken. The combo might just be some kind of triple bike thing, not a whole new robot like people automatically think.

Why whole Devastator and Constructicons being seperate entities happened. The Jetfire-Prime fusion was more prime steal choice parts than a true fusion heh. (mind you Jetfire was just too huge to merged via armada style, as I pictured that looking rather dumb, so Im guessing why Prime only took a small amount of him.) Whole combiner idea doesnt seem be all its cracked up to be in the live action series.

"Flareup" has been around since 2005. And it is rather egotistical to think someone based a name on your screen-name.

My semi-educated guess? Sponsorship deals with the cycle manufacturers in question. I show the '07 film when I teach Mass Media to demonstrate all forms of product-placement, and my students really enjoy the 'scavenger hunt'--how many licensed products can you find in this five minute clip?' So, new sponsorship from the bike manufacturers, new designs.
HK, I do like a ducati. Strangely, all of MY bikes have been *boys*.

I think he is talking about the fact that 07 Arcee was an actual humanoid design as opposed to something silly like it turned out to be. I really don't think he means the actual brand of motorbike. Just a guess.

we will ALL have time to confirm the name and bio while it's shelf-warming itself next to chromia and wheelie..
and i agree, the earlier humanoid look from 07 movie arcee is better than.. whatever this is supposed to be...
would be ok with it if it was just an attack mode

I'm afraid I don't really see your point. Of course the change in manufacturer would open the door to a redesign. Say GMC pulled out of the deal, and so we had to find a new vehicle for Ironhide. Let's say, for the hell of it, and because I like kitsch, a VW Thing. You don't think they'd redesign his robot mode too? They'd have to, to get the vehicle parts to reflect the new vehicle mode. While doing that, why NOT tinker with other ideas as well?
As to why the cyclebots are non bipedal, why not? I actually think it's kind of a neat idea. Admit it: it's a WEIRD coincidence that all Cybertronians from the first movie just *happen* to be bipedal with bilateral symmetry in robot mode? I liked them stepping away from that with Demolishor, honestly--a robot that doesn't look like a wanna-be human. Why not with the cyclebots?
HK, or maybe it's just sexism. That's my standard fallback.

Actually I'd kinda like to see this happen with a few characters, just to see what WOULD happen. Though we didn't get much change with Bee, that could be down to him just getting an upgraded vehicle mode really, the parts would all be similar I assume?

I totally agree with you! Are we, as a race, so arrogant that we believe all alien life forms should look like us?
Barely 10% of life on earth resemble humans (here meaning bipedal, four limbed, etc), I'm sure really that number is a lot lower but for the sake of it lets assume it's 10%. Why would the ratio be any different universe wide? Why would every Cybertronian resemble human kind? Are we saying humanoid design is BETTER than the speedy, manoeuvrable, flexible bodies the cycle bots have? Because, while they seem to lack fire-power (and screen time) the bike bots seem to do a lot better at chasing Sideways through those streets, buildings and alleyways than the rest of the team would have done. And they didn't tear up half the place doing so. Sideswipe only did so well because he's so damn good XD
hellkitty wrote:HK, or maybe it's just sexism. That's my standard fallback.
Easily one of your best sign off's yet XD

My general thoughts are:
1) I appreciate, intellectually, the fact that she's not bipedal, lacks bilateral symmetry, and just in general is going with a less humanoid look
b) She looks gorgeous posed next to Chromia, be it in bike mode or robot mode, and not too shabby next to 2007 movie Arcee
gamma) She's not very fun. She really isn't posable or all that flexible, so you can't really "play" with her (says the 33 year old), just kind of pose her next to other figures, and leave her there
finally) Still not even coming close to how the three sisters will combine, based on these first two
By the way, anyone looking for more wheeled robotic fun, check out "Rideback." One of the most thoughtful, gorgeous, and underrated anime in a long time.

I don't get why they're waiting so long to release her. Maybe, despite the concept art, they're still trying to come up with a transformation for her that would allow all three to combine?

That, or maybe Hasbro don't have enough "new molds" for a new wave to release along with her.

What worries me there is that we've seen pics of a next wave of toys (prototypes), including Human Alliance Skids and Mudflap, movie Lockdown, and a bunch of others, but not even a prototype shots of Flare Up.

true, and I sure hope she doesn't end up to be repaints of Arcee or Chromia.
