But if that Bee blows my mind, especially for the transformation, I may consider it.

I have it, and while it wasn't a great price, it IS a pretty awesome set. Hopefully this one is as well.

This one is probably going to be a pass. Just based on looks alone I would have preferred something closer to the original toy or the cartoon. This looks like Lego Titans Return Bee which wasn't a great design, mostly because of those weird arms. Even looks like it transforms the same way with the arms becoming the back of the car and the backpack filling in the space between.

More interested in the life sized Lego cat at about the same price...

It's OK, but I've never liked the arms on it, felt the alt mode was too far away from a Beetle. It was good at the time, but I upgraded when the Takara version came out (as well as picking up RoadBurn) and upgraded again with the Netflix figure. Looks like I'll be upgrading once more when the A Level figure is released.

SkyFire Prime wrote:Honestly the best Deluxe Bee is Legacy Animated. People have slept hard, the G1 Bees keep giving Bee clown shoes
That's because he's often drawn with clown shoes, though ironically when Animated Bee was revealed a lot of people complained about his feet being too small.
As long as nobody is drawing him like Pat Lee we're all good.

Because the original toy had big feet made from the entire front of the car. It just sort of became a thing that Bee has big, round feet. Cliffjumper got lucky (sometimes) since he has flatter, more angular feet.

We have one such video below which includes the transformation and an interview with the designers. The transformation is far more involved than Optimus' but it also has partsforming. It should be noted that while Optimus' designer used to be a Transformers designer at Hasbro, Bumblebee's designer was not. Still, it is very impressive to see the lego set go from car to robot form with such minimal partsforming.
There is no preorder, the set will simply be released July 4th for $89.99. It can be ordered on the Lego site then, which is a good option for more expensive sets since they often have gifts with purchase: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/bumblebee-10338

In any modes.
The Optimus was okay, but that Bee is horrendous.

I'm still getting it, but will wait and hope of a Christmas time sale, like they did do for Prime last year.
