Damn, there's so much win in this line.
But... but... I'm a SERIOUS, passionate, RRRREEEEAAAAALLLLLL collector. I shouldn't like these. Rrrrriiiiiiight?

This may be the line I'll be buying the most from this year.
No joke.

I don’t know about the line in general, but I’m loving that Insecticon

The Skybite-mobile is just so adorable, I may have to bite.
And as big a mess as that Grimlock is, I kind of like the idea that he turns into a throne/power-loader for Optimus Prime that looks like it could eat him. A play pattern intended to homage conflicts the two have had over the generations? And could making Grimlock and Scorpinok counterparts be an homage to Maximum Dinobots?
Not sure I'll end up buying anything from this line until I find it on clearance, but I'll certainly watch every tiny episode ASAP!

Elita-1 as a Riptide pretool is awesome, glad we might finally see him!

I wish that was true for everything in life.

There's a lot of really nice creativity here. And if the line catches on a bit I think there could be even more oddball designs and repaints coming.
For several years now I have been really focusing my collection on the Generations G1 cast and strictly new characters from other lines such as Earthspark and Cyberverse. Last "kid line" I went all in on was RID 15. I bought all the warrior class figures and while yes, they were simplified compared to Prime they were still really good designs and figures.
I also can't help but see this line as a "catch all" for Hasbro. Take a bunch of designs that were intended for other lines and mix them together into one big line. That off road bee sure seems to fit the Reactivate Bee look for example.

I dismiss the elitist opinion about how "awful" and "useless" this line is. They tend to forget that G1, after the initial Diaclone reuses, was all about experimenting with weird and fun gimmicks.
So, lines like these are indeed essential for Transformers to keep fresh and to experiment with new gimmicks and characters.
I can't wait to get my hands on most, if not all of the Cyberworld toys.

His price is just a 5/10$CAN above the leader price. I don't know how huge he will be, but I find the figure pretty exiting. I preordered my copy.

Meh, I'm forgiving it for the huge, gimmick filled nonsense that he is.

He doesn't even have a wacky new altmode that leans into the "fun" of the line like Megatron, Snarl, and others do. He's just "Wheeljack, but he's shaped like Jazz for some reason".

There are more pics in the link, but these two are the ones with Wheeljack.

He looks more Jazz simply colored like Wheeljack, complete with his helmet colored like Jazz's (with black painted around the ears so it looks like a Jazz/Wheeljack fusion helmet) and a front-bumper chest.

Why articulation are limited?
2 reasons.
First, it make transformations easier.
Second, il lower the parts count by a lot, thus reducing the price of the toys by a significant margin.
Also, this line is not meant for collectors, but for fun and quick play. This is the main point of the line. Going WOOOOSH and BAMBAMBAM, then transforming in 3 seconds for more WOOOOOSH and more BANGBAMGVANG.
That's it.

So they get to make these again in Studio Series in a few years. Hasbro always have a way to bleed your wallet dry if they didn't get you the first time.
Seriously, EarthSpark's warriors weren't bad to begin with, yet Hasbro followed up w/ Deluxes for many of them, and they were great figures. So we might have a chance to get these designs in Generations.

The best proof are the Rescue Bots in Legacy and AotP. It took years, but they did came.

I know people are mostly thinking "black Optimus", but I really hope it's a big blue and white ship. G1 Scourge already looks the part of a pirate captain and has the name to match.

This series blends a lot of aspects from all over. Bumblebee sport his Prime headsculpt and Reactivate alt mode while Elita 1 is based on IDW Riptide and Chop Shop is based on Beast Wars Insecticon.

Fingernail clippers and they are all gone. Nobody would really want these but still, it's that easy.

I mean, it took them until just this year to make Studio Series boxes that can't be opened simply by pushing in on the bottom of the box, no need to cut tape or anything. They are very slow to catch on.

Meanwhile, for over a year, I saw the same SS86 Ironhide without a head on the shelves at Walmart. I kept reporting it, they kept putting it back. They have zero fawks to give.

The one feature I like the most about that Grimlock is the pilotable "mech" mode. I tried 3 riders:
First, the authentic "scout" one. He cannot truly sit, but it works.
Then, the Classic deluxe. Nope. It doesn't.
Finally, the G1 Pretender. He cannot sit at all, but the fit is PERFECT. Pretender Grimlock's feet fit snugly on the seat, and his height is tailored to him. Bonus points, his gun can be pegged on almost all ports.
For around the price of a deluxe, this big Grimlock is a ton of fun!
