IDW Confirms Transformers and Avengers Crosssover

IDW has officially announced that there will be a Transformers and Avengers Crosssover. That is not all! The crossover is due out in July 2007. Here is what IDW postes about the Transformers and Avengers Crosssover:

Could be good. Grimlock and Wolvie? Could be Gold! Plus it'd be nice if Spidey has a feeling about knowing these guys from somewhere. Plus he'd just HAVE to call Megatron Bazooka Joe again!

Now, if only we could get a corresponding toy line or an exclusive Diamond / Wizard figure set since Hasbro is handling the Marvel toy property now. That would be awesome.

I would be more interested in Marvel doing the series instead of IDW. Neither way, hopefully it will be quality.

Still, it's good to know. I wonder if Spidey will remember any of the Transformers. I know it's been a while and he's been busy, but still, I thing it would be great if he came into this recognizing the TFs.

This could be a good story. I hope it turns out alright. I like the thought of Optimus Prime and Captain America teaming up.

To be honest the whole idea sounds stupid. I can see it now:
Captain America: "Hey Optimus can you help use defeat Kang"
Prime: "Sure!" (Prime shots Kang, Kang is disintergrated)
Prime: "Now you can help us against Megatron"
Cap: "OK" (Avanger charge towards Meggie, Meggie shots all the avangers, avanger comic cancelled)

Only interaction I want between Marvel and IDW is IDW to hand the licence back to Marvel and pick up where the G2 comics left off.
All subsequent lines could be introduce via the Cybertronian colonies where the Megatron's are viceroys and the likes of Fire Convoy and Optimus Primal are spurred to lead Autobot descendants to revolt against the Cybertronian Empire by the G1 Autobots.
Then have the likes of Predacons, Omni-cons and Mini-cons as further offshoots giving us numerous factions.
Till all are one (continuity)!!!

i think i'll wait for the trade of this one. dont get me wrong i love TF and collect new avengers (in trade form) but unless its something spectacular i cant see myself ponying up the cash when i can get it half price a few months later. the whole idea, while fun, just doesnt make sense in any obvious way.
