Remember back in 2009 when iGear teased us with loads of cool self-designed products we all loved so much? Remember how we got kind of tired with their KO products? Well guess what, iGear seems to be finished with their KO phaze, because fabexmax dropped by to share with us images of two upcoming iGear products!

HOLY COW!!! How many more designs do you think iGear are sitting on?

These are pretty nice. Will probably skip Spray as I spent quite a lot acquiring both Hasbro's and Takara's HFTD Seaspray, plus I can't help but imagine that his robot mode would look very similar to a version made from LEGO.

Rager? (First off, how are we pronouncing it? Rage-er or Rag-er?) I don't know. We need a Classics Huffer, and this would work very well. But there's something about it putting me off. Think I'll go stare at the images for a while....

Lets just hope they follow suit, not like the last time where they got bored after 4 releases and started producing KOs instead.

Wow those look very very nice.

I'd love them to be deluxe sized though to get the scaling right, but they are nice.

Look to fansproject for Powerglide, also Fansproject Seaspray > igear Seaspray.

That huge noggin on powerglide just looks wrong. Not a fan of any of these new 3rd party minibots.
Also I-gear's Seaspray seems to have better articulation than the fansproject one.

Tired of scrolling back and forth to compare the two seasprays so here they are in both bot and alt modes.

Now to see how the actual figures turn out before pulling the trigger. My money's on iGear's at the moment, surprisingly..

The iGear Seaspray, and to a greater degree Huffer, seem a bit small ... more like legends class than scout class in size.

They come just to the knee of Voyager classics Prime:

I think (but it is a bit hard to tell) the FP minibots a closer to Scout class:

the g2 prime there is a deluxe (granted, he has some gloves on and stuff) but they only come up to his thigh. I'm not sure there will be a considerable size difference between these different sets of mini bots.

Attempted translation:

The Minbots (which is what he meant; minibots and minicons are NOT the same thing) are all very disappointing in my opinion. I'd be happy if someone would make them all the same size (Deluxe) as Classics/Henkei Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. Fansproject motivated me to hunt down Cliffjumper on account of their upgrade kit, which I have. I was also motivated to hunt down Bumblebee on account of their G3 Trailer. The Fansproject Minibots, however, seem very low quality compared to their past products. I MIGHT just buy it if they sell more at a time rather than separately. They seem about the same size as Perfect Effect Rumble and Frenzy. Still, I think I'll cave if they release all the other G1 Minibots and sell them as a set. It all depends on who does it first: iGear or Fansproject.

[Disclaimer: I agree with next to nothing said here.]

I bet the FP ones are closer to scout size than you think. Remember how much height the Protector armor added. Regardless, I think the FP Seaspray looks better and will most likely be cheaper. I'll pick up iGear's Huffer though. I'm glad to see some third art competition.

Ummmm......what about PCC Huffer? Is he not G1 enough for you? He fits in just fine with my Classics collection. What we need is a scout size Gears or Brawn. Then I will be excited. Especially at igear prices. I'm sure these will run north of $50 each minimum....

Minibot lovers rejoice! If the news that iGear was planning on releasing their own versions of Huffer and Seaspray didn't get you excited enough already take a look at the latest image they've posted to their facebook page. The images show the two previous mentioned versions of Seaspray and Huffer dubbed Spray and Rager respectively, as well as silhouettes for six other Mini Warriors. The image is mirrored below for easy viewing.

I'm thinking the top row is Beachcomber, Brawn, and Windcharger. The bottom row is fairly obvious, Pipes, Powerglide, and Cosmos.

So I'm guessing :

Seaspray (revealed), Beachcomber, Brawn, Brawn repaint
Huffer (revealed), Pipes, Powerglide, Cosmos

Looks like we'll be having a dual of the minibots coming up!

I'm OK with this :)

gambit020480 wrote:What we need is a scout size Gears or Brawn.

I'm using Firetrap for Brawn and he works really well.
I unscrewed the snowplow, and it works even better.

I'm still waiting to see how PE's Wheelie will look. Less G1 probably, but so far I love their redo of some characters. Liking what I do see and have seen so far from the con. Only going to be getting what I need however. I won't need any Seaspray's or Powerglides. Hasbro/Tak has that covered.

Wheelie being the top right

Wheelie was my second guess behind Windcharger. Which would be fine by me since WC already has a nice classic incarnation.

I hope the top right is Wheelie instead of WC since Hasbro has already taken care of him. (He is very nice btw :P)

Is PE still planning on releasing their take on Wheelie? It was teased with the Laserbeak mold but I dont remember seeing anything else about it.

I'm hoping they do actually. But like you also, I haven't heard anything since the original news about it. Since then, it's been hush hush. I still think it's coming since the lineart looked like a finished prototype. But what the hell do I know. :???:

I think "MakeToy" is FansProject side/sister company. I believe that they did this because MakeToy will probably be really close to IP infringement and should something go wrong, it's still a separate entity from FansProject.

I may be passing on MakeToy's stuff since so far I don't need Seaspray or Powerglide.

I'm having a Dejavue moment from 2009 here. Let's hope iGear won't get bored from designing all this stuff and then not producing it in the end like the last time they announced so many products in one go.

I don't think so, they where just displayed together on a TFSource table showcasing 3rd party products, if you look at the pics you can even see iGear's MP Ramjet boxes next to FP's Insecticons, and the BTS stuff like the matrix pack.

But these are both too small for the scale of my collection. I hope the next few are appropriate at their size.
