While we already got in in box images of the TAV toys, the pictures were a bit crowded. Fellow Transformers fan Matt, sent us some pictures of some toys he picked up which give us a better look at the toys in packaging as well as the back of the packaging.

One is a two pack of Bumblebee and Steeljaw (previously called Steeljoe according to google translate) and the other is Dreadwing which is a redeco of Beast Hunters Dreadwing.

The artwork on Dreadwing is really odd looking.

"Steeljoe" was always a mistranslation. The Katakana for "jaw" (ジョー "jō") can also equate to "joe", but Google defaulted to "joe" instead of "jaw" because "joe" sounds closer to "ジョー", even though it's meant to be "jaw"

In all fairness, some official sources have likewise been guilty of Engrish names. The most recent of which being "Gregevor" for Greejeeber. ;)

Which is a whole other can of worms. As a translation, "Gregevor" is as valid as "Greejeeber" given English's flexibility in pronunciation, like "ghoti" for "fish".

Following up from our previously reported Amazon listings, Takara Tomy designer Hisashi Yuki (or TFYuki as we've all come to know and love) is once again in the sharing mood and brings us some dynamic shots of upcoming Transformers Adventure figures TAV-13 Nemesis Prime and TAV-14 Ultra Magnus. For fun, Yuki had TED-05 Junkion stop by for lessons on being a blue and white truck. With a little hammering, he learned: be more red! Anyone who missed out on the excellent BH Ultra Magnus might go for that one. The richer colors and that golden hammer really make it pop.

But that Nemesis Prime... Man, I WANT it! :x

This show-accurate Ultra Magnus is not a part of the actual Transformers: Prime toyline. Seems a bit backwards.

Just a warning: that one doesn't have Prime's smokestacks either, like the original BH Ultra Magnus.

Nemesis looks tempting, but he's no real priority unlike the Armada one.

Not when one considers that Japan never got season 3 of Prime, and likewise never got the toy in the Go! toyline.

That's true! That really seems like a weird decision in retrospect. The Go! toyline really didn't have much in it. Well I say that but the awesome repaints and heads for the predacons and the really cool Go! Prime sure were worth getting. Everything that was new and unique to the line was kinda dull though.

Compare that with Beast Hunters here, which had this Magnus, and Shockwave and the surprisingly neat Sharkticon Megatron.

I mean, they rolled the dice to come up with something different, but I just don't think they won out on this bet.

Beleive me I really looked into the combiners. I will be arsh here but I think they all suck really hard. And not in a pleasant way. First of all, I just hate combiners made out of 3 members where one dude just serves as a backpack. What is the point of that member? Just make Energon Power Links featuring duos. This will be far better. Also, the individual robot and beast modes. Good lord, kill them with fire. The overall combined mode look nice, but the flaws far outweight the good. My 60-100$ will be better spendt on Combiner Wars.

BTW, Railraicer have the same problems as the GO combiners. That's why I never bought the team. Even for cheap.

I can't wait for Nemesis Prime and Junkion. The Junkheap mold is fantastic and I would say the best AOE Power Battler.

Indivudually, they kind of suck. But that should'nt stop you from getting them. The Ninja team imho translates better in combiner mode.

Epic quoting to say that I vew some video reviews and I didnt liked what I saw. Most reviewers seem to force themselves to love the whole thing.
For me, if I spend big bucks on a transformers, it's to love the WHOLE PACKAGE. I want to enjoy the figures fully. Only one nice mode out of seven is unnacceptable.

That's why Combiner Wars rock so much. I havent bought anything yet, but from what I've seen, all the figures work perfectly as stand alone figures and the combiner rock too! That's a 11 great modes out of 11 perfection!

BTW Will, if you happen uppon a GO! team live and they are dirt cheap, go for it. For the sake of curiosity alone. They could go well with your Railraicer. ;)

The problem with those is that you'll usually find 2 out of 3 that are cheap and the third is either not available or more expensive. So I can wait, you never know. I never expected to get so many mint Beast Wars neo toys for so cheap.

And I never did find my railacer ;)

Oh? Roddy had a Railraicer for sale for like, 30$ for ages. And when I said if you happen on a GO! team, I mean a GO! TEAM. Meaning all 3 members in one... go! That would be the only reason to get a team because the individual bots are totally worthless.

The TfGO! line.........again, a real weird animal. The Ninjas combiner looked great but individually, looked all pregnant

The Samurai figs, indivisually look much better but combined, mixed bag. The first mode with the police car has a design flaw in his fists that can't close. But love them just the same.

In 2ndary markets, the blue lion is hard to find.

Woot! I got my first batch of TAV figures from TFSource this afternoon. I got the two packs of Bumblebee vs. Steeljaw and Grimlock vs. "Gregevor". The Steeljaw figure has much more functional arms than the Hasbro one I bought back in December. The forearms slide easily down the bicep now and can bend at the elbow without having to use excessive force or pulling at either end of the arm as you bend. As for the others, this is my first experience with those molds. Grimlock is very fun. Bumblebee is all right, nothing too exciting. Gregevor is a pretty solid mold. I don't mind the backpack so much. The only complaint might be the blocking looking fists because of how the fenders wrap around the forearms. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to getting the Strongarm vs. "Wolf" set.

By the way, I spent part of the morning organizing and transforming some of my Transformers Prime figures, and I have to say, I think they hold up quite well a few years later now. They're solid figures and some have pretty clever transformations, especially Vehicon, Wheeljack, Ratchet, Bumblebee, and many of the Voyager molds. I'd say the line was very underrated by the fandom, and I think something very similar is happening with the warrior class figures from RID 2015.

Toys R Us in Japan has a new gift campaign for the Takara Tomy Transformers Adventure line, which was announced on Takara Tomy's website. Planned for the end of April, the first 3000 people to buy over 3000 yen (including taxes) worth of Transformers Adventure products at their Domestic Toys R Us will be getting a Limited clear EZ Collection Optimus Prime figure. This is similar to the previously announced campaign which included the other legion scale figures.

Now, that is much better representation of Optimus's appearance in the show. Either Hasbro or Takara needs to make a translucent version of the Warrior to give us a proper Corporeal Ghost Optimus figure.

Hopefully we'll get a voyager wave at some point or a larger comparable version.

I just got Takara's One-Step Underbite from TFSource this afternoon. He will not stay in beast mode at all. I've seen plenty of reports of this being a problem, but no solutions. Is mine just defective or is it fixable? Will I have to keep exchanging it until I get one that works correctly?

So the problem exists on Takara's version too, eh?

TFWiki has this to say of his transformation issue:
Caution should be used with his transformation, as many early samples would lose the ability to lock into robo-beast mode with rigorous/repeated squeezing of the haunches (vehicle is the "default" state, beast mode relies on a tensed spring to stay locked in).

Yeah, I read that in the wiki too. Mine never, ever worked correctly from the get-go, though. I'll contact TFSource and see if I can get an exchange. For now, I've got a clear rubber band keeping him mostly locked in beast mode.

After reading these last few posts mine has decided to stop working. I got it a few weeks ago and it was working quite well but within the last 24hrs no go. It's a shame because it's a cool design and fun gimmick. This really should've been thought out more.

Well, I went to TFSource yesterday to exchange my Underbite in person. We tested the new one there at the warehouse to make sure it would work, and guess what? It didn't. Same problem. After about the 50th time, it stayed put almost all the way transformed. Couldn't repeat that magic, though. So, I'm just putting up with a toy that doesn't work for now, just so I can have the character represented on my shelf. I don't have a lot of faith that there will be a Warrior class or Hyper Change version of Underbite coming.

Uh, there's a perfectly :BOT: Strongarm in the line. Are you confused with the repaint "Gregevor" as a new Decepticon character? Gregevor isn't replacing Strongarm.

Thanks!!!!!! :D Gregevor is a male?! That means Primus put a male in a female's body!Oh boy,is this weird!First BW Inferno and Waspinator, now this?!Someone please get rid of the dark energon in Primus.

Yes, Greejeeber is male. The only thing really feminine about the toy is its lips, but the toy's box art removed that aspect from the character's design, and its bio didn't specify a gender for Greejeeber, so it stands to reason that Greejeeber is male since it's based on a preexisting male character and had nothing given to it to indicate it being female.
