Along with the auction for the '08 Botcon exclusive Optimus Prime, eBay seller etoyshunter has always posted an auction for the Voyager-class Lugnut figure from the new Transformers: Animated series. This is our first glance at the fully-painted Lugnut figure, that was strangely absent from this year's Toyfair.

So, is Voyager Prime kind of tall, or is Voyager Lugnut kind of short, or a combination of both.

Between Lugnut and Bulkhead, those are some short voyagers.

God damnit. I thought "WOW! MUST HAVE!!", and then I saw how small he was.
They'd better make a leader of summat, because these midget voyagers are really pissing me off.

Killa!
I love this guy, must have!
But I do hope they will make a leaderclass version just like Bulkhead!

Looks nice, might pick him up. I wonder if he can use "the punch"? I'd really like to see some pics of his partner Blitzwing.

Doesn’t look bad, I think someone at Hasbro really needs to lay off the axes though.

Nice! And to scale with Bulkhead! It seems he has some trigger-things on his arms, so maybe he can do some sort of punch or something. Now I HAVE to see Blitzwing.

Well, it's smaller then I would've preferred, so I guess I'll only be buying Voyager and Deluxe classes for size issues (except leader Megatron, he was much bigger then Lugnut or Bulkhead, right?)

yeah megatron was the biggest and wow i gotta say i'm loving this toy line more and more.

He looks so top heavy. He needs to do some squat thrusts!

This line keeps looking better and better.

That said looking at the figures legs and chest area, combined with the monoeye & paint app, add his level of devotion to Megatron in the cartoon. Is Lugnut the new Shockwave?

Apparently Corey Burton is returning for Shockwave, who is supposed to appear

Can we just start informally calling this guy "Animated Shockwave" now?

I love the anime style of these figures and cartoon. Lugnut looks ****** great!

No because Shockwave himself may appear in season two.

Not bad but it just isn't enough to warrent a purchase.
Re: New Images of Animated Voyager-Class Lugnut Figure (648628)
Posted by Firebird on March 5th, 2008 @ 4:46pm CST
Looks good, a little short but still good looking.

I like how they made the rear tail assembly into an axe instead of having it hang out on his back Blackout style.
Re: New Images of Animated Voyager-Class Lugnut Figure (648629)
Posted by NuclearConvoy on March 5th, 2008 @ 4:46pm CST
Voyager Prime is really tall.
Re: New Images of Animated Voyager-Class Lugnut Figure (648635)
Posted by Overcracker on March 5th, 2008 @ 4:55pm CST
Well he reminds me of Movie Blackout for some odd reason. Still not too bad.

But I think I'll wait until I see it in person to pass final judgment.

Otherwise he does look rather stout. There will Probably be a Leader class to match up with Leader Bulkhead though.

Voyager Prime on the other hand is pretty tall, he's even taller than Classics Voyager Prime judging by the other Auction.

O.K so what about Blitzwing, still nothing even remotely resembling a prototype has been seen.
Where is he already :-?

I like him. He looks better than I thought he would. And even if he is a bit on the short side, he doesn't look squat like voyager Bulkhead.
Re: New Images of Animated Voyager-Class Lugnut Figure (648679)

I see alot of balancing issues with this figure.

I do have to say though, if they added some detailing to the sculpt I'd probably like him. Right now though he just looks unfinished like most of the bots in this line.

WOW! I thought he looked cool until I scrolled down and saw his skinny little legs.

Imo,

AMAZING!!!!
Yeah, he may have some balancing issues, but overall he looks BADASS.

I will be getting two of him for sure.
I think all of the Animated figures are looking VERY impressive--
even the few that I don't think I'll get.

Thanks for sharing.
I always get a little jolt of excitement seeing these figures.

Wait, he fires two missiles, you can see the missile hole in the last picture in his hand, which is show inaccurate?

No, because there's an ACTUAL Animated Shockwave coming.
Re: New Images of Animated Voyager-Class Lugnut Figure (648821)

15cm is indeed short, though he's very broad at the shoulders. The size isn't terrific, but it's not as bad as Voyager Bulkhead. In turn, I don't mind V. Bulkhead because he'll get a leader-class release. I doubt Lugnut will get the same, since he's not one of the main characters. The Voyager's a bit undersized, particularly next to the impressive Prime, but he'll look fine next to Starscream. It seems as if they've made the effort to release the main five 'bots in scale with each other, but that they rightly don't expect people to buy massive toys for secondary characters. Transformation looks great. I don't find the face as expressive as the other toys, but considering how many people dislike Leno chins and whatnot, I suppose that's not much of a negative.

I hate how all these big guys end up being so small. I'm definately waiting for the leader class version.

It's probably (hopefully) just mis-transformed.

YEAH BOI
!!!!!!!!

This line WILL BE awesome!!!!
(not just because of Shockwave...
I'm just excited about pretty much everything that's in store from Animated)

My only complaints right now as far as characters:
I wish we were getting all of the Dinobots, and all of the Constructicons.

But in the grand scheme, to me this is a situation where the good FAR outweighs the bad.

Good point. I think he will be something of a main character, but as decepticons get much less screentime than autobots anyway, they may be hesitant to go leader class on this one.

I'll probably be putting together 2 different scale lineups on this series, so I don't really mind. Lugnut will look big next to some activators. I'm not even sure I'd want to buy a leader class Lugnut anyway.

As for this Lugnut figure, it's alright, but there's better looking toys in the line. The shoulder area looks awkward, and maybe they should've made the legs fatter.

I'm definately picking up this one when its released. Now all I want to know is when are we going to see a blitzwing prototype, I want my blitzwing damnit. :-x

These transformers are wonderfully designed, but we could really use a Leader Class Lugnut.

Isn't it a coinincedence how Blitzwing, who is clearly the best character in my opinion and the most complex probably, is pretty much the only one we haven't seen? I have a feeling hasbro are hiding something..
Oh dear :-( ...
Also, is it only me who is seeing half a picture of everyones favourite copper-clad-klutz?

I like him, a lot! He looks really cool. You could almost buy a few and use them as some kind of Decepticon G1 sentry.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Lugnut character, I just think there is something generic looking about him, or generic enough to be used as a drone or troop builder.

Aside from size, my gripe is he doesn't seem to standout. It just looks so... plain.
