You know they won't give us a new line until ROTF is finished with and how is Takara repainting three Mini-Cons in some way detrimental to a new line from coming?

Looks like I'll be taking your spot in line.
(You know, as exclusives...they just give these away in Japan with purchases you're already making.)

Yes, it's really annoying how a representative from Hasbro comes to your house and forces you at gunpoint to purchase everything they make, especially when these mini-con repaints are the only figures they're making this year.

Serious question time here. How many mincons are there?
I mean if Armada was Transformers Pokemon, how many entires would the pokedex have?
Awesome!

Well, I'm not entirely sure how many Mini-cons there are, although I'm frankly sure they might outnumber the number of Pokemon out there, which is 493. It would have to take me some time to calculate just how many variations of mini-cons there are, although I'm sure our good friend Counterpunch can help us out.

Are micromasters their forefathers? Are the various mini-bots of the movieverse, All-spark infused consumer goods, housewares ,Scalpels and dare I say? Wheelies their children?

I like how you say that as if summoning him. As if he's:
nearby.
*ducks around the corner, transforms to Punch*
...Real nearby.

Anyway, I don't have the chunk of change required to pull a ball of yarn from Japan! Disappointing, since I love that police car in those colors. I want that mold so bad. I don't have the original Classics mold, a.k.a. Strongarm, Universe Flatfoot, or any of the other repaints. However, does anyone remember that Wal-Mart exclusive 10-pack we heard about alongside the Universe Basics? Hopefully, I'll be getting that.
Mini-Cons are the coolest, because they give other Transformers their power! Awesome! Without doubt, the Mini-Con Strongarm mold is my favorite, right up there with Over-Run, High Wire, and Sonar.

I feel like i need a shower after watching them.
Posted by Sabrblade on July 14th, 2009 @ 6:14pm CDT
In the Armada/Micron Legend cartoon, they were creations of Unicron's cells. In Cybertron/Galaxy Force, they originate from the planet Gigantion/Gigalonia, which serves as their homeworld. In the Classics comics, they were created by the Last Autobot. In other fiction they appear in, they're just there with no explained origin.Primus C-00 wrote:What defines a mini-con?

What would happen if they were to stop producing Mini-cons? Would CP go nuts?
I think I'll be buying these. I've been wanting to find a way in to the Mini-con hobby and this should do nicely.

You're absolutely right, no one is making anyone buy these, and that's totally what skywarp-2 was implying - that these are the only option out there right now for purchase rather than a tally mark on the repaints for more cash list. Totally. I mean it's not like the company actually expects the buyers of its target niche in the market to lay down cash for these grabbagged Micromaster wannabe molds slapped with whatever paint they had leftover for a pricetag much higher than such items would have received as is seven or so years ago, which is why they made them. Sometimes its not about the money, I mean clearly they put higher pricetags on little trinkets like this in order to defer fans from purchasing. skywarp-2 totally had it wrong when he said, and I misquote, "Gawd I'm tired of them forcing us - barrel to temple - to dish out for the rediculous prices they've placed on this garbage". He should have posted something different, something speaking/implying of this notion that they have an expectation of their usual suspects of collectors will buy anything they repaint, and at higher prices.. ...though that would totally have been inaccurate as well.
Right?

That probably thinking of Micromaster Combiner Pipeline, a repaint of Grit. He's partnered with Gusher.
And the Mini-Cons keep just on coming. Can't wait to see what they'll look like. Hopefully there are some molds previously unreleased in Japan in there; Broadside, Firebot, Oil Slick and Grindor.
And guys, you're forgetting this is Takara and especially Japan! Japanese love small and gimmicky collectibles (or so I think), this has absolutely nothing to do with the US directly. Sure, they're no better than us when it comes to cashing in on a hype, but you guys had better start worrying when they actually start appearing in Wal-Mart

Yeah I remember that.. IF you live in Japan, but the real question is, do they charge online buyers extra for them??
MAN I WISH I COULD GO BACK TO KYOTO.. that was a fun city..
I miss going to the grocery store to get milk, eggs, butter, and a 1/100 Gundam kit, or a few bazillion Takara Transformers! you walk in and half the store is food, the other half chojokin! with extremely manicured shrubbery adorned throughout the entire store..

I don't know man. There are a lot...and a lot of variations...and single production pieces...
The number of unique molds is probably something that can be discerned.
I added the first page of the Linkage story. It's kind of the Side-B, official story from the Micron's perspective.

yeah, cause I was totally saying that hasbro/Takara Forces us to pay lots of money for crappy figures, or we get thrown into a prison and tortured..
actually, I don't understand the instant reaction to someone who isn't interested in paying 35.00 for a set of Minicons?? It's my choice, and I'm not like dissing them, all I said was that here we go again..some people like them, that is fine..I prefer the slightly larger Henkei minibots teams.. those sets I like because they are good reminders of the G-1 days..
I never said a word about a Hasbro representative with a Gun?? I don't know how far out of context my original quote was taken, and I sure as heck don't think that I implied any of that...

In conbinis? Sadly, no. COD retail seems to have become more popular. So you go into Lawsons, or whatever, and use their in-store computer to order your lovely exclusives. Then it comes to your door three months later. Maybe Kyoto was different, I'm a Tokyo boy through and through.

I still need Twirl and Fracia from that set you're referring to. I got Combustia at BotCon.

I'd just about kill for the Aqua Raider team. Pirate minicons FTW! Indivdual names are awesome too (Freeboot, Bilge, and Sunburn).
