So, in thinking about it, I realized that the lack of a paint deco running down the length of the wing is accurate...in a slavish kind of way.
I kind of don't mind that the stripe on the wing ends, but it should have ended purposely with some kind of tapering effect, not just cut off at the joint. That looks sloppy and unfinished.

They probably did intend to have it go all the way, but you know Hasbro these days. Minimal paint apps. Still a great looking toy though.

Ya know...I'm kind of tired of that (the excuse Hasbro would give, not you presenting it). The argument that a bit more paint on these figures is too much for the cost is really kind of losing merit with me.

Just picked that up yesterday. All ready had Universe Cyclonus and I have his lavender "Armada" started. Also since my Classics Rodimus is wearing the FP Rodimus Prime armor it's nice to have Hotrod to wield the FP target master.
Oh, I also used the lavender Cyclonus' Target Master for Generations Blurr. 1 or 2 pieces of electrical tape on the guns handle it fits perfect ion Blurr's hand.
Are you thinking they will do a repaint in a lighter color fr the sweeps?

This.
Really enjoying this mold though.

Not necessarily for the Sweeps, but more for a "cartoon-accurate" Scourge as an exclusive. Wish that, I wish them good luck, we all know how Cyclonus turned out

I have 3 of the titanium Scourges, and I really like them for my sweeps.
This guy will be my Scourge.

As for the lack of paint apps on Hasbros' part (for which they really do need a swift kick in the ass over) i'm sure reprolabels may solve that problem for us, unfortunately.
I'll just buy one Scourge though and use all my G1's for the sweeps. Do a real Generations display.

We know. But that's not really the point.
We shouldn't have to look on the otherside of the world for this kind of thing.

And paint shouldn't be so expensive to use!

BTW, the next time someone complains about "hair" on a Transformer, I'm just going to point to him and Wreck-Gar...

Something really irks me though- I thought only the testshot/prototype seen at KO-toys would have blue eyes.
But this seems to be the retail version, and the blue eyes are still there.
Red eyes would really look so much better...
(yeah, yeah... I know, wait for the Takara version, and with the US versions you unscrew the head, put red stickers on the eyes, screw back on... I know, but still.)

Then I'm going to sit him in the microwave until the plastic warps and bubbles.
Then I'm going to hang that matrix form the Battle In Space set around his neck!

Just don't do it in a microwave you intend to use for food, plastic vapor can be toxic.

I'd prefer to have this as scourge, and the botcon ratbat molds for sweeps, but thats expensive as hell, ah well.

Stickers? Naw. Break out the paint pens and be done with it.

I think peaugh mentioned that the real life prototype of this craft design features an abrupt paint app edge along the wingspans, so whatever, not a big deal for me. Most likely will unscrew the head and paint the eyes red, even though it isn't that big a deal for me. Hopefully some gundam marker paint does the job, i'm much too lazy to bother with a brush.

EDIT: I see someone beat me to it. By a while. I must've missed that post.

Toys R US is having a sale on all Transfomers Generations ($8.99 down from $12.99) that ends on 1/8. Maybe this is to clear space for the new lines??

This.
I know, it's not like a tiny bit of paint is going to add an extra $2 to the cost of the figure or anything. You know what I think it is? They can get things through the assembly line quicker this way. That's the only advantage I can see. And it results in really cheap-looking figures sometimes, because a lot of great detail just gets left unpainted.
But yeah, in this case it's a good looking figure anyway.

Hmmm...good point there. Usually that's what they're up to when they have a sale. But my TRU only has Generations Cliffjumper and Thunderwing, the rest being Animated and, oddly, ROTF deluxes (not the NEST figures either). It is unlikely that even if their surplus is put on sale that anyone will go out and buy any. CJ and Thunderwing will probably go, but they usually leave the TF deluxes sit and rot even if there are a little as 2 or 1 left total. They are really shabby restockers.
