Next Year's 3 Studio Series Leader Class Toys Confirmed Through Listings

Posted by william-james88 Jul 3, 2022 at 8:01pm CDT 35,832 views
While we knew these were coming through a list of rumours from reputable sources, we now have the product listings from Walmart for the three leader class Transformers toys coming out in the Studio Series line. They are 86 Snarl, ROTB Scourge and ROTB Primal. Remember, these are meant to be in scale and Primal should be the same size as Prime in this rendition, so expect him to be similarly sized as the previous Studio Series Optimus Primes with some additional accessories. We do not know how much bigger Scourge will be yet. As for Snarl, well now you can recreate your favourite 3 shots from the movie when he appears. The names of the two ROTB bots are coded in the listings but we've known which characters the codes refer to for a while now.

We thank JTPrime17 for the news.

He's a Voyager in name only, he's actually the size of a Core because of that ridiculous parts count.

I'm glad to see the big bots of the next movie are going to hit Leader class. Can't even begin to imagine how they'll get Primal up to that price point. Extra stuff aside he isn't a figure that traditionally requires a high parts count or complex transformation and what we've seen of the character in other toys and art it doesn't seem like anything has really changed. Maybe whatever the McGuffin they're after gives him a temporary upgrade that can be snapped on.

And we can finally put that false but still perpetuated rumor (started by PvP) about Snarl being a Voyager to rest for good now, right?

I thought that the rumour had always been about Swoop being a Voyager rather than snarl

Originally, but in one of PvP's videos he baselessly said Snarl was also a Voyager which was then repeated as a legit rumor including on these forums a few times.

Hadn't seen this before, found it on Mandarake. Takara Tomy is already moving their wave 29 (Wheeljack, Brawn and Sweep) over to windowless boxes, I suspect Hasbro will be doing the same by the end of the year or next year. Wheeljack is the only one I've seen, but I assume Brawn is also this way, not sure about Sweep.

That's how past Buzzworthy store listings were/are formatted.

Yes, but the use of "Nest" is why we're all guessing it has something to do with the recent NEST Bumblebee and Universal Studios. Even if it didn't say Bumblebee we'd probably still draw the same conclusion.

I thought SS BB could refer to a studio series figure of a character from the Bumblebee movie.
Wouldn't it be listed as "TF6", then, like the other Bumblebee movie character toys?

Yeah, your right.

This is awesome! Definitely a prepaint for DOTM core Bumblebee!

They recolored the 2007 render for the boxart right? Although the figure is clearly Bumblebee's DOTM body. Love the little living room used as a "backdrop".

It's the little girl's bedroom.

On September last year, we gave you a preliminary list of case assortments for 2022's Transformers Studio Series line. You ca find it HERE. While wave assortments slightly changed for which figures would get repacked, it gives us a good idea of what is left to be seen in 2022. One of those was core class Laserbeak. Many assumed it would be a robotic bird of some kind, as we saw in the films, but no. Instead it turns out to be based on when Laserbeak turned into a pink Bumblebee toy. Takara already released a deluxe commemorating that moment and now we have a core class figure. This is, as written in the title, just a redeco of a core class Bumblebee toy that is released first. We had quite a few "Pre-Decos" back in Titans Return but we had not seen on in a while.

If you are wondering, the other SS core class figures yet to be seen are 86 Rumble and Wheelie.

Thanks to JTPrime17, we now have multiple new listings for the 2023 Studio Series line. They include beasts in various sizes and more Bumblebee. Along with a coded character we don't know of yet, Appolo. We also have a non ROTB Bumblebee, which is labelled as WFC within Studio series. It will take time to see how this all plays out but now we have more of an idea of what is coming out next year.

TRA Gen Studio Series VOY TF7 Butch (Cheetor)

TRA Gen Studio Series VOY TF7 Appolo

TRA Gen Studio Series DLX TF7 George (Bumblebee)

TRA Gen Studio Series DLX TF7 Titan (Airazor)

Gen Studio Series DLX WFC Bumblebee

For reference:

Wish the Core class was that shade of pink and not magenta, but it's a good looking figure regardless. Not crazy about the weapon, wish it covered his hand. Also looks like it splits in half for some reason?

It's interesting that they're using the "Apollo" code name again, they last used it for Age of Extinction for Dinobot Slash. I wonder who it could possibly be this time around? As far as we know BW Dinobot isn't in this movie, certainly not Slash.

Many code names are being reused this time around, from previous code series, like George.

Was George used before? I tried looking it up and only found "Costanza".

So since Goldbug happened, could this WFC Bee be a reissue of the VW mold? Or will it be yet another mold besides a Camaro or a jeep?

You know, a reissue of the VW mold would make a whole lot of sense since that figure was previously sold in the Netflix line, whose actual proper name was "Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy". It would explain how and why there is a "WFC" in the listing if it's supposed to be a Studio Series release, in that it would be a toy originally first released in the "War For Cybertron Trilogy" toyline and of a character from one of the theatrically-released feature films.

...well I said I would have to get Laserbeak if it did turn out to be Murderbee, so that's happening.

I'm guessing Apollo is gonna be that tow truck Battletrap, since I believe he was the only RotB cast member that hasn't appeared with a codename in the RotB stuff we've seen before now?

...WFC Bee could easily be related to the recent WFC and be boring, yeah...but JTPrime speculated when the listing was discovered that maybe the Studio Series WFC Bee is as such because it's based off the High Moon Studios WFC game, and that's probably not likely...but I can't get the thought out of my head now.
