Greetings Seibertronians!

Fellow Seibertron user, Nemesis Primal, has alerted us to a reveal we'd all been waiting for, that of Transformers Generations Selects Deluxe Class Magnificus!

Instead of being revealed this past Thursday at the pulse members only reveal event (which showed off quite a different beast), it happened at the MCM Expo in London.

The pictures were taken from twitter user, @ZakuFan0079.

This ends the initial mystery we had regarding the line this figure was destined for, with some speculation that it was intended to be Shattered Glass Perceptor.

Preorders on Pulse will be opening on Tuesday, 1st November.

So what do you think? Will you be getting this figure?

Not to be snarky (I already got accused of that once today), but I wouldn't doubt they're going to reuse that Optimus mold.
Oh I absolutely wouldn't doubt that either, but considering how rare new molds are outside the retail lineup and the weirdness that's happened with Netflix Soundwave "belonging to Walmart" and stuff, I can see why he thought it was an important confirmation to give.

I've seen rumors that it's the Amazon Prime design, but that one was a licensed truck alt mode, and I haven't seen if this one is.
It is. It's a licensed Volvo.

Wait… is this then the first time we are actually seeing the Amazon mashup Optimus mold?

Looks good. Probably will look better in the Amazon color scheme.

Definitely getting my hands on Magnificus when he drops. I was never really big on Perceptor but for some reason this color scheme and head sculpt is really doing it for me. :CON:

Magnificus looks good, I did not get SS86 Perceptor but I will get him for the con shelves. Or maybe repurpose him, not sure yet

So since magnificus is gen selects he should be on Amazon at some point right?

I'm seriously considering getting Magnificus, slapping an Autobot symbol on him and calling him my G1 comic Perceptor. Since he was almost all blue and we know they used blue in place of most black back then.

Not via Hasbro. A 3rd party seller may choose to list it on Amazon, but the price is usually more expensive. Gamestop has Selects on occasion, Places like BBTS will have them as well

Depends on the character and the length of time. Some Selects are on there now, sold by a 3rd party but at prices that are close to or less than the original retail.

True, some older Selects will go on sale.to try an get them out of warehouses. But I figured the OP was looking for an option on Amazon when a Selects is a new release, which generally dosen't happen, unless it's a higher price than what is on Pulse and most other online retailers.

Basically, you won't find any seller on Amazon offering Magnificus for $24.99 or less from now, until well after it's release date, and If it sells well, possibly never at that price or less.

Thank you both for the responses, i greatly appreciate it!

I'd go through pulse but they no longer have free shipping so I'm thinking bbts may be the cheaper way to go

Preordered Magnificus, I think that despite his con badge, i will go somewhat with the fiction and make him a Diaclone Autobot, following his betrayal and being kicked out of the cons. I know the "betrayal" part is the only part that is accurate, but I think it can make sense that he would turn

Not to resurrect a slumbering thread, but I've been eyeballing Black Zarak over on TFsource and am really considering ordering him or Deathsarous, it's tough because they're about the same price. So really just want the word on the street from you guys who might own Scorponok or the repaint! I think he looks p cool so far, and BIG, even if the scorpion mode is a liiiittle blocky

In this case, if you have any inkling about getting Deathsaurus, go with Deathsaurus. Black Zarak will still be available on the market for not-too-terrible prices for at least a while. Deathsaurus, however, is made-to-order. if you miss out on the initial preorder, you will not get another chance at him at his base price again, as he will skyrocket on the secondary market due to his significantly more limited production numbers.

You just can't compare a standard Titan to a HASLAB even if they are "the same price."
If it's just a matter of budget, back Deathsaurus NOW and wait for Zarak. Zarak is less popular than I thought and you'll have a second chance later with him.
Not so with a HASLAB.

Can't argue with that logic. Back Deathsaurus ( or any time before it ends). Black Zarak is a great toy, however it should still be available for a little while at least. The Haslab ends on December 12th at midnight. If you don't back it before then, you won't have another chance at that same price.

BBTS just notified me that Magnificus will be processing soon. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at this point when something is 2 months early. Maybe it's time for Hasbro to reevaluate their release date estimates, it's been a long time since anything hasn't been early online.

Maybe making up for all the times past when items were 2 months late

Seriously though, I know it's tough, and there really is no win. Being late = frustration and postponed expectations. Being early can compromise a budget if you aren't expecting it.

I prefer to be charged right away for my purchase even if it's a pre order months away so as not to worry about it. But I know a lot of people don't want that either, and it's pretty split as to which companies charge up front, and which wait until they actually ship the item.

I prefer being charge now as opposed to later because then I know it's been budgeted for rather than a bunch of preorders getting charge at the same time due to shipping issues, Granted that seems like a limited experience in 20/21 due to outside forces. Yet I can't help wonder it could become more common considering what's going on and just how dependent some Countries have become on others for goods instead of being more self reliant. I'm of the mind it could get worse before it ever get better.
