Transformers: Power of The Primes Figures Sighted in Peru!

Posted by WreckerJack Apr 17, 2018 at 8:43pm CDT 14,974 views
Thanks to the Facebook group Transformers Peru we are now aware that Power of The Primes figures were seen at PLAZA VEA on Guardia Civil Avenue in Chorrillos. We have posted a photo that was taken at that location. We are told that these figures cost 79.99 soles which is about 24.83 USD with the current exchange rates. We would also like to mention that this is the first wave of deluxe class figures containing Autobot Jazz, Dinobot Slug, Dinobot Swoop, and Dreadwind. Hopefully the second wave of POTP will show up in the area soon.

If you find any new figures, please let us know or use our sightings page! Happy Hunting!

This does beg the question.. why is the one figure that USED this gimmick to begin with, Ultra Magnus, not being incorporated into it, lol... I get that we already have a UM fig with Minimus Ambus, but this gimmick was his to begin with.

KVO PRIME
Because Ultra Magnus (and the equally applicable Star Saber) lost the fan vote to Optimus Primal. Magnus was one of the options in that poll, and if he had won, we'd be getting a new Evolution toy of him instead of the actual winner, Optimus Primal.

I get the feeling that that John Warden and his team were hoping/anticipating the likes of either Star Saber and Deszaras "Unknown Evil" would win instead.

I'm surprised they didn't just fake Star Saber winning. Or just made Star Saber anyway.

They still could. Since Star Saber doesn't really evolve so much as power up with armor they could easily make him part of the War for Cybertron line and he'd fit the theme fine since the line doesn't have a unifying gimmick. We know Hasbro designs these before the pole results are revealed so at least some of the hard work is already done.

I hope so! Not going to lie: sure, I'm a Beast Wars fan and voted for Primal but back when I did it was under the idea he'd 1) never win and 2) didn't know about the gimmick. Not that a single vote mattered but still...

It was the same with the trypticon vote, preliminary work would have been done on omega supreme and scorponok, so they are just sat waiting for their time to shine (in fact I'd better that one of them is going to make a debut next year)

I can see whatever plans there were for Star Saber showing up in the Generations WFC (I'm just going to call it G-WFC or pronounced as Gee Wufca...yeah I'm weird) since Star Saber isn't an Earth Vehicle in the first place.

Star Saber is definitely a guy I can see showing up as a Leader or gimmick-gutted Voyager in future lines, especially if they choose to remove his Saber-to-Star Saber gimmick which everyone think would have been perfect for 'Leader Evolution'. There's the potential to simply make him re-imagined as one larger spaceship, which would make his design a bit less like the Victory anime/toy and a bit more like his crappy comic self.

Design-wise there have been far less terrible re-imagining, really.

Yeah but when I look at leader POTP optimus and rodimus I'm thinking they could have done a better job its like their alt modes were an afterthought
Especially optimus primes
Its like they got lazy

I really think they did an amazing job for Rodimus' alt mode. That cybertronian winebago is easily his best looking mode.

its lazy because they made hotrod just attach to a camper and didn't at least make the car section a little more truck like, everything else is fine though
Hotrod buy himself is really good rodimus prime botmode is ok

And yet, no one complained years ago when FansProject did the exact same thing in their making their Protector armor trailer attach to Classics Rodimus's vehicle mode.

Turn the car 180, flip up the back, add a new front piece...

Nope, impossible

I disagree. There is a transformation aspect to the Cybertronian winnebago mode where the tubes connect to give the impression of a continuous vehicle. I much preffer this to the major cheat that was MP 09. So yeah, with no exageration, POTP Rodimus' alt mode is above MP quality engineering.
