Yeah, that's the first thing I thought, too. That's probably my most-anticipated Transformers Prime toy to date.

Since Optimus personally gave him the Key to Vector Sigma, I'd say Jack might take command. After all, it wouldn't be the first time that a human was Commander of the Autobots, and it would be an interesting take on Jack's character, giving him more responsibility and allowing him to grow and mature even further.RatchetXHide wrote:My only question is, with Optimus now Orion and with the Decepticons, who is in charge back at the Autobot base? And this may introduce Headmasters into the plotline as well. I do also think that Grimlock may take temporarily command of the 'bots while Optimus is out once they arrive. So they could either way with it, or not at all. We will just have to wait and see.

Headmasters? Godmasters? Please explain.

I'll explain Headmasters first since they're easier to understand. A Headmaster is a Transformer whose Robot Mode head detaches from its body and transforms into its own smaller Robot Mode. The larger body can transform into its alternate mode without the head.RatchetXHide wrote:Headmasters? Godmasters? Please explain.
The innovation of Headmaster technology led to the creation of other "-master" Transformers. The first ones to follow the Headmasters were the Targetmasters. A Targetmaster is a Transformer whose handgun weapon turns into a smaller robot partner.
After these two came the Powermasters, whose smaller robot companions turn into the larger Transformers' engines.
These three groups are usually seen as the "Big 3" of the "Master" technology, with many others usually being derivations of them. The aforementioned Godmasters are the Japanese equivalents of the Powermasters, though their nature is a bit more mystical than technological.

An Autobot......Or a human?
I don't think any Transformers series would ever get THIS dark mind you, but what if OP killed Jack? What would Arcee's reaction be to loosing another partner to the one mech in the universe she trusts above all others?

There's already been human casualties. Arcee unintentionally killed some MECH soldiers back in episode 9.Foxbear wrote:Dead Metal wrote:Remember how at the panel they said that one main character would die in Season 2?

You're right there, this series has been pretty heavy with the casualties, human and Cybertronian. But what I was specifically refering to was a situation where OP killed an inocent, not by accident either and one who the other characters and the audience had a substantial emotional investment in.

I have serious doubts that they would have Orion Pax/Optimus kill any Autobot or human. They could probabaly get awau with something like that in the movies or comic, but not a Tv series. I agree with Fox Bear that that would be to dark.
on a side note, anyone else thing that maybe this might be an entrance for Nemis Prime?
Yes i understand its the mind of Orion Pax and not Optimus, but maybe working under Megatron for a certain amount of time shifts Optiums ways a bit?
Posted by Red 50 on October 24th, 2011 @ 8:56am CDT
As for the Orion Pax figure. It'll probably be just a repaint of optimus with no mouthplate and a Decepticon symbol.
The S2 Character Death? Well, why not Fowler? I know and I like the guy, but what if a 'Con would kill Fowler and seeing it Orion would remember who he was? Or maybe Silas, with a short run with his P:Chimera and would then be destroyed along the thing?
BTW, is it really supposed to be an Autobot? Could the walking body be a 'Con?
A question to you, now: What do you think, will Orion have memory-flashes of Optimus Prime during the season? That he starts seeing memories of things he did, experienced, said and saw as Optimus?
By the way, is it certain that Grimlock will be joining the cast or does everyone think it's him due to him appearing in Fall of Cybertron?
Posted by Sabrblade on October 24th, 2011 @ 10:08am CDT
I just assume he'll show up since all word from the creators on the Dinobots showing up in Prime has said that they are "on the radar".Red 50 wrote:By the way, is it certain that Grimlock will be joining the cast or does everyone think it's him due to him appearing in Fall of Cybertron?

I've been thinking the same thing. Autobots have suffered enough in season 2, so to "balance" things it would make sense that it would be 'Cons turn now. But, they said "to except higher body count" (or something along that line), so I guess we'll see losses on both sides.Red 50 wrote:BTW, is it really supposed to be an Autobot? Red 50 wrote:A question to you, now: What do you think, will Orion have memory-flashes of Optimus Prime during the season? That he starts seeing memories of things he did, experienced, said and saw as Optimus?
I think that he possibly could have small flashbacks, maybe about right after he became Prime? Or Megatron is going to brainwash him well so he doesn't remember anything from his past life as a Prime. I'm interested to see if Orion is willing to fight against Autobots, if that will ever happen.

Though, these losses may be to side characters.

I see both sides having losses, but let's just hope that the Autobot's have less. As far as flashbacks, I hope he would have flash backs. If he doesn't then how will he ever remember who is who and re-join the Autobots?

The Key to Vector Sigma. The story line will lead back to Cybertron where Jack [hopefully in some kind of 'master' armor] will use they key on Nemesis ala Rodimus using the Matrix on Unicron. That would be cool, if done right... But it would most likely come off as a Deus ex Machina if not built up properly.
Now, something that hasn't been mentioned yet. What if Nemesis swings way evil and offs Megatron to take lead of the Decepticons?

So let's just say that Jack does use the key on Nemesis. How does that work and what will it do?

The creators could have put it in there as a Red Herring for us to all speculate how it would bring Optimus back, when it instead is for some other purpose just to throw us off.
I'd say everything is possible. Maybe it will bring Optimus' memories back, maybe it will help Autobots back to Cybertron. Who knows? IMO, I don't think it will bring Optimus' memories back. Wouldn't that be kind of obvious? I mean, after what we have seen in season 1, there's been lots of stuff that no one excepted to happen. Now everyone excepts the Key to bring back Optimus' memories. The writers have this complicated way to do things in Prime, so for some reason, I'm not convinced that it will be the answer.

That could either be very dumb or very awesome, depending on how they pull it off.Dead Metal wrote:Ever think of the possibility that Optimus never gets his memories back?
An awesome way would be for him to come to find more favor with Autobots than the Decepticons all on his own. Something like how BW Silverbolt willingly chose to join the Maximals after preferring their good nature over the Predacons' jerkiness.
And afterward, Optimus/Orion would thus begin a long process of trying to grow back into the leader he once was, but instead becomes an ever better leader than before (one who can show EMOTION). It would be a great chance to develop him from a youthful, relatable character into the role model that we all know and love (a la Animated Optimus).

This/\
In all the continuties the key to vector sigma was only that, a key to access another device. Never a repository of knowldge in of itself. Too much fuss was made over it for it not to be some major part of season 2. Perhaps it will play the role of proof. A scene where Jack confronts Orion about his aligence, and holds up the key "Look you entrusted me with this! Trust me now." type of thing.

Not sure the deaths in "Convoy" (or the potential ones in "Operation: Breakdown" or "Crisscross") were "unintentional." MECH has proven that they are pretty nasty characters, and somehow, despite Optimus' declaration that he "doesn't condone human casualties," I think even he wouldn't lose many tears over taking out a few of their number.

As much as I wish for Airachnid to die, I don't think it will happen. I just hope that no matter what happens, it will still be okay for me to watch with an 8-year-old. She has come to love the show and even wants to be Arcee for Halloween. The moment that it gets to the point of her not being able to watch it will be a sad one.
Another thing, I would HATE for one of the main Autobots to die. That would be horrible.
