First up on the chopping block is Transformers: The Last Knight, coming to a theater near you in just one short month. There's a new international trailer out, and we dissect it for new details, plot points, and anything else we can spoil for our (soon to be not so) loyal audience.
We need a trailer for this trailer...
In the context of the trailer, we mention a few interesting articles in Empire magazine, including an interview with TLK producer Ian Bryce and some of the TLK writers. What tidbits do we take away, and how does this new information color our understanding of how the TLK sausage is made?
Surprise!!! It's Bumblebee!
After our thorough discussion of the movie itself, we move on to one of the quirkier aspects of modern movie culture: promos. There's the Chinese Coca-Cola raffle, the Singaporean Coca-Cola steelcase, and Japan's 7-11 Dark Optimus exclusive. Also, international distribution is weird. We're totally feeling the zaniness.
Product placement to the rescue!
This all leads to a discussion on how these contests, and international distribution generally, is a function of Transformers being marketed to an overseas population where dedicated collecting is less a phenomenon. With a Screen Rant piece about Wonder Woman as our guide, we achieve total brand awareness.
That's good marketing.
On to comics: specifically, Lost Light #5. You can find the Seibertron.com review of this issue here. How does the Twincast crew feel about the Functionist Universe, and are we on board with Rung's newly revealed abilities? Where's Orion Pax? Is Terminus a good addition, or does he just need to shut up?
Today shall now and forever be known as Brainstorm Day.
Optimus Prime #7 is next on the chopping block. You can find the Seibertron.com review of the issue here. We take a slight turn towards the political (in a non-partisan matter, we assure you), and discuss bias and the way that real world concerns seep into the content of this surprisingly compelling story. Also, Jazz.
That Matrix is definitely messing with Optimus' brain.
We conclude with our freestyle segment: what's everyone going to bring to the table this time? Rotorstorm's all about Toxitron, Dr. Va'al points us to Lindsay Ellis & her TF-related video essays, Mr. Starscream's planning his own con, and Megatronus <3 Sharkticons.
This is another seriously brilliant video essay!

This was great to listen too. (Also thought Va'al would sound more like a wise doctor or something so I'm genuinely surprised)

Glasses off suddenly, inexplicably gets closer to Daniel Craig. Probably. Definitely.

Well, that assessment of my identity is mostly correct, so sure. ALLOWED.

I always knew James Bond was a Mary Sue.

Rolls of thunder
and skies of fire
for the Biocombat.
Between two enemy ships
a battle erupts
for who will take over
the whole galaxy
and while the battle rages
they land in a world
from four thousand years ago
There are prehistoric monsters
on that planet
No trace of humans,
what a shame (I lol so hard at this every time..)
The two landed ships
are damaged
so the Biocombat
stay there.
Rolls of thunder
and skies of fire
for the Biocombat.
A thousand roars
of fury
in the darkness.
Landscapes fit for the bravest
the more adventurous
brimming with difficulties.
Rolls of thunder
and skies of fire
for the Biocombat.
Neither faction
knows where they are.
Both factions are
tested hard.
The two landed ships
are damaged
so the Biocombat
stay there.
Rolls of thunder
and skies of fire
for the Biocombat.
A thousand roars
of fury
in the darkness.
Landscapes fit for the bravest
the more adventurous
brimming with difficulties.
Rolls of thunder
and skies of fire
for the Biocombat.
The Maximals are great
COMBAT.
The Predacons are strong
COMBAT.
Who knows who will win?
COMBAT.
And who will repair
their ship
Rolls of thunder
and skies of fire
for the Biocombat.
A thousand roars
of fury
in the darkness.
Landscapes fit for the bravest
the more adventurous
brimming with difficulties.
Rolls of thunder

Unspoken in Lost Light 5 is that it doesn't work for Six-of-Twelve because he's wearing the fake that we learn about in "Shadowplay". "Shadowplay" is also where we see bots with Rung's same body style in the Relinquishment Clinics.
Remember that the whole reason it got stolen in the first place was that it was being used to create new Transformers through Cold Construction, particularly those that were serving the bad guys. Rung is revealed to be able to replicate a similar process, and this is also now supported by the Luna 1 scenes from way back in "Remain in Light".
What does it all mean? We'll have to wait and see, but Sweeps have to come from somewhere.

That flows like a river of gravel. It's also amazing and I love it.
