He's so clumsy with the figures in his reviews and when somethings not going the way he wants it to he gets rough with them and basically starts hitting them (see skylynx and trailbreakers reviews). He also can't seem to hold anything still. He tries showing off a portion of the figure but in doing so he flails his hands in front of it and keeps spinning it around. It makes it hard to focus on anything.

Oh yeah, this was the guy that was randomly hating on Sky Lynx because it's not an exact G1 representation and the packaging wasn't as good as Takara's wasn't it?

Yeah. I saw the Soundwave review some days ago, and it was not amazing. It seems almost like he just glances at the instructions real quick before filming, and then tries to figure out how the hell to transform it on camera. As a result, it makes it less like a tutorial, and more like watching your dad try and transform it for you.
Also, did anyone see that video by the Toy Spot on Unite Warriors Devastator? It was funny because he made it look so bad.

Unfortunately Laserbeak really continues to fail. He needs a LOT more red in his colour scheme; not necessarily in the same places as he had in G1, but just enough to evoke the character. The classic layout of Blue Soundwave, Black Ravage and Red Laserbeak is really taken down by quite a few notches here

Because almost no one is impressed by either version of the mold, and needs additional motivation to spend hard-earned money on it

I have a very low tech, very low cost fix for Scourge's bobble head. I took a business card, colored it blue with a sharpie and cut little squares. Then slid them down the sides and back of the Titan Master Socket. Now he isn't a bobble head. Best part about it. If you need to redo it at some point, just pull out the old card stock and add new.

I believe he is the superior mold too. He looks more like Blaster (in both modes) than Soundwave looks like himself. That said I did buy him for a little over $30 US and I would not have spent more. He is not an impressive toy and just does his job and not much else. There is nothing original about his transformation and not everything is flush. He has more gaps than the G1 toy and the connector ramps dont sotre well in alt mode (they cause a lot of pressure). Thses very much follow the trend of the CW leaders like te Seekers and Megatron of doing an ok job at being the character, but being very simple in design and not awe inspiring.

I got Scourge and Blurr yesterday. They're fantastic! Blurr is wonderful. Scourge did have some issues, but I was able to fix them fairly easily. He had a bobble head that I already posted in this thread how I fixed. His wrists were also loose. They're easy to pop off and fix with a little scotch tape square or some clear nail polish.

I have to ask, given earlier grievings about him - is Blurr's colour scheme much better in-hand, or is it just that people put up with it because they've gotten all their annoyances out about it at the photos pre-release?

It's better in person. It's very saturated in the early photos we've seen. No, it's not cartoon accurate like the Legends version, but I think it still looks pretty great. The figure is so awesome though. To quote Scotty_P: If you need it to be exactly like the cartoon, get Takara. If you just want a fun toy that looks great, get Hasbro.

Ya other than the bobble head (nice fix BTW Rod Con) and wrists. Scourge IS rockin' the bee's knees. and as far as QC on Blurr, I can't see any. I've said it before, but will say it again, what Blurr lacks in paint he more than makes up for in sculpted detail and an awesome robot mode design.

Thanks for the opinions guys!
But yeah, I was mostly just considering Takara's Blurr not necessarily because I'm a stickler for cartoon accuracy - which, in fact, I'm absolutely not - but because from pictures Takara's just looked better whether you like cartoon accuracy or not and Hasbro's just looked a little... bad and bland. But yeah, if you guys say it's great I think I'll save the money by going Hasbro then!
The only accuracy I'd really be wanting would be IDW; with hopes that Shapeways or some third party company would later make an IDW Blurr head. I know the Generations Drift Retool exists, but this body matches up with the IDW version sooooo much better.
Funnily enough, for the most part I'm preferring to go with Hasbro for most all the figures so far. Most of Takara's decos are either sort of better but not enough to go over the Hasbro version (like Scourge), are appealing to fans of a cartoon I never watched or care to watch (Chromedome, Mindwipe etc) or are... just worse in my opinion (Hardhead). The only ones I've been interested in are Blurr, Galvatron, Shockwave, Skullcruncher and Ginrai - and of those you guys have clarified Hasbro's Blurr is fine, I'm only interested in Skullcruncher because of the better head but I think I'd go Hasbro anyway, Shockwave I was purely interested in because I'm having trouble finding the CW version anywhere, and while I still want Takara's Galvatron, I still like Hasbro's much better and just want Takara's because it's closer to the Marvel Galvatron II colouration. Ginrai's still an absolute winner though.
It's kinda funny since I was interested in literally every UW release over their Hasbro versions bar Defensor and Bruticus, and now it's pretty much flipped for TR. Hasbro's really putting in the effort this time.

I think the Legacy Headmasters, those that were never a Headmaster (Blaster), or those that were some other type of master (Powermaster,Targetmaster) are pre-tools of the classic Headmasters. For Example:
Blurr= Brainstorm
Scourge= Highbrow
Slapdash?= Chromedome
Obviously in the case of some like Hardhead and Skullsmasher, the classic Headmasters were released first, but I do believe those molds will be used for other figures down the line. My gut tells me Hardhead will be turned into a Warpath, CW has gotten us used to the idea of a Warpath without a cannon chest, and Skullcruncher just might be repainted into one of the long-nosed Sharkticons.
Obviously in the case of Blaster= Soundwave, that's just what I'd call a duh repaint. It's just so obvious it has to be done.
Rumours have already gone up about Skullcruncher and Hardhead into Krok and Quake, respectively.
And Chromedome will be turned into getaway
I couldn't think of the name thanks. I also think it'll be criminal if Blurr isn't retooled in Arcee.
