Today at a press conference about their third quarter earnings Activision officially announced that the company, not Atari, had acquired the rights to produce a video game for the upcoming live-action Transformers movie. No plans for the project were released during the meeting. This is Activision's first statements reguarding the Transformers franchise. During previous reports of them aquiring the rights to the Transformers Activision had refused to comment on the matter. Click here to read IGN.com's Jeremy Dunham's report.
