The Transformers Legacy United line has had an odd release schedule with confusing waves. Initially, there were meant to be 3 core class and leader class waves with new characters, meaning wave 4 would only have deluxe and voyager class figures. But now that the line was extended into 2025 with 2 more leaders, the numbering gets all over the place. Hence why we are describing these new sightings as part of the initial fall wave which was just deluxes and voyagers. And both these classes have indeed been found at US retail. The deluxes were spotted at a Walmart in Florida while the voyagers were found at a Meijer in Illinois. The sightings were by bruteslayer101 and Chicagolander respectively who posted their findings here.
The toys found include:
G1 toy deco Metalhawk
Animated Universe Decepticon Motormaster
G1 toy Optimus Prime
G1 Quake with Heater & Tiptop
Cyberverse Slipstream
The deluxes have this case assortment:
3x Optimus Prime
2x Slipstream
3x Quake

Looking at those pics and comparing them with others, this might simply be a Japanese release of the Toy Colors giftset that Hasbro already put out in their own markets. The main clue is the silver hood with the offsetOvercracker wrote:Takara Legacy United Menasor Boxset incoming.

EDIT: Yeah, these are definitely the same vehicle mode stock photos.

But they have made it to the West at a local Walmart as I was able to pick up Slipstream and Quake, the only figs I wanted...awesome finds 'nuff said!!!

must have been a mistake.
Nah, big retail stores often do that for reasons.
It was also the case with MPM Starscream at Target. Furthermore, if a toy wave arrive late, even if that store never had it before, it will often go straight to clearance.

oh well, he will remain on shelf as a rival for Core Volcanicus. Hoping at some point in the future we get a better Dinoking that scales with previous Generations combiners.

This thing is a mix between the "upgraded" form of Optimus at the end of the last animated season and Cybertron Optimus. And DAMN, does this thing look cool.
And of course, the kit is more expensive than a leader class Transformers but oh well...
Mine arrived today. I love it, to be completely honest. Really, really impressed with it!

Not sure why they didn't offer these with the retail release? Its not like the complexity or "parts count" would have broken the bank at between 10-12 dollars for a core figure.
I think it is as simple as making the extra parts exclusive for Pulsecon. I believe each Pulsecon exclusive so far has had some exclusive parts or tooling that has only been used for Pulsecon. Hard to put a Pulsecon premium price on a simple receco without something extra.

Never had owned the Core Dinobots before, I went blind.
I had to look up the instructions just to see what accessories went to each bots. Once that was done, I just referred to the box if I was stumped.
The transformation of each bots was easy enough to figure out, but the combine mode wasn't that easy. Still, I just looked at the box 2 or 3 times before figuring everything else.
It was quite fun and it makes me want to hunt down the regular Core dinos and the upgrade kit so that my Dinoking can have a rival.

First up, SDCC Megatron is an alright figure, and his accessories are the best part. Love the sword.

Next up, a Legacy Cybertron groupshot

I also think i finally found my Lockdown setup I like

SDCC Orion Pax is super cool, so glad i didn't get the MMC one, they did him nice

some more Lockdown

Cybertron vs Legacy Hot Shot. I think both have their merits, though I think Legacy actually edges out Cybertron as my favorite

Cybertron vs Legacy Vector Prime. I think we have a similar case to Hot Shot, both are great, but I think I like Legacy more

I also got the new Thundertron leader set. I like this Thundertron for Prime more, I put him there and moved the voyager release to my generations con set. And Calcitron went to the rock lord/Junkion shelf

Touching on G2 for a sec, I like how this little squad came together

I also got Road Pig. he is pretty nice, love the colors on him. And he looks pretty decent compared to his OG self too

Ferak is definitely the best use of the Cyclonus mold

Got my Straxus, he is perfect

also got Flame and Xaaron. They are both really fun, I love this set!

Mayhem bludgeon is cool

Combined Tidal Wave and Megatron

Got my dinoking, this is a great set, and I would argue the combined bits here are better than the DNA upgrade kit

Speaking of, here is Volcanicus in his perfect form

and some side by sides

I also got Ruckus, who is decent, but very boring

Finally, Tidal wave by himself is super cool

I wouldn't waste anymore money on a Quake. Mine is pretty loose in the legs as well, also has a strange neck ball joint(we really need much better range of articulation with neck joints, looking up/down etc, while I'm at it more wrist swivels). Worse part is the cheap KO quality of the plastic. It feels like a toy you would get from a gumball type machine for a quarter. I don't know what happened with Quake, holding it in one hand and Needlenose or Blaster in the other, they don't feel like their from the same toyline. His bot mode looks so badass though, just don't touch it. Hopefully its an anomaly and so far has been, since most figures, especially SS86, have been killing it.

His more "futuristic" cybertronian form is yet to be made.
If they do, let's hope he will be his own mold, not a lame-ass repaint of something else.

Really no room for improvements at all? I feel more superior articulation alone makes for a great reason to get a modern version. Well let's see what 2025 brings!

Drift was the first big addition to the G1 lineup in years, they even retconned him into G1 stories. And then... nothing, just one figure from Hasbro and nothing else, not even a version of Deadlock. Meanwhile, how many Windblade figures have we gotten since 2014? Four if you don't count Takara Tomy versions and repurposed figures. Heck, Cyberverse is now on her third figure, all different molds. At the very least newer fans deserve an affordable option.
Emerje
True. IDW Drift is super popular, yet he basically have just 1 figure.
Meanwhile, Windblade. Windblade everywhere.

TBH, I'm surprised they haven't made several all gold deco releases from that one episode. It's an easy thing to paint all one color, though maybe demand isn't there due to scene specificity. Yet they don't mind doing battle damage versions that are likely more costly. lol
After getting RID Strongarm I'm kind of wanting that version of Drift.

Hero Mashers was the perfect place for that, and they totally missed the boat.

Well, it was also the only Galvatron that that GameStop had. They also had one Leader Soundwave (which I also bought), two Core class Energon Galvatrons, and one Deluxe Quake. Very few TFs overall, but all ones from that same wave.Nemesis Destron wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I wanna say sometime during the beginning of December. Incidentally, I picked up my Galvatron at Gamestop the week before Christmas (no Soundwave) but never saw him or Soundwave at retail before that. Have not see Deluxe wave 4 or any of the final wave stuff yet at retail. Now that I think about it, on Studio Series I haven't seen a new Core all year or a Leader since Concept Megatron. Thankfully nothing has been too hard to find online this year.

I was curious to look up Smyths thinking it was just a retail store but I was really surprised how huge they are not just in the UK. It clearly took me back to when Toys R Us once existed here coast to coast and now just memories of what once was.

I would totally make it a point to shop at one if I ever took a holiday to the UK and I wish for you all that they never go under!!!

They slowly moved into the gap left behind by TRU, for sure, and are about the only physical store you'll fairly reliably find retail TFs at here, outside of the most basic for-kids lines. Wish we had more options but glad we have this one!
(Not that it's all sunshine and roses - a retail price Leader is still $70 over here...)
