Yet another amazing Protectobot and new team member for our standard combiners. This guy looks Amazing! That head sculpt just works so well and his weapon placement is new and pretty sweet. Hulk Hands? I think yes!
They are nailing the Protectobots, and I look forward to getting these guys. Defensor is shaping up to be my favorite combiner at this rate, mainly because each component is so different and each has been nailed, from head sculpt to vehicle mode.

I can't explain how or why, but Rook is my absolute favorite CW deluxe so far. As someones arm, doesn't it look like a Rook punch would hurt a lot?

Interesting that he has the Autobot insignia on his forehead. How many other Transformers have insignias on their head? The only one that comes to mind is Beast Wars Rhinox, with the Maximal insignia.

He can use Hulk Hands in robot mode and can be a Hulk arm in combined mode!

haha, "Rook Punch!" - Defensor's fatality move.
Bit of a backpack there - but I like the implications of that - easy to retool as you only have to replace that one piece and you've got a whole new vehicle... even add a tank turret perhaps?

Replace wheels with Treads and add a turret to the roof--Badabing! Brawl!
And thus, the entire "regular" combaticon team can be made from retools/redecos!

These pics are winning me over for Defensor (I was on the-FENCE-or
). Do you guys know wha is winning me the most about this figure? The arm mode, it looks impecable. He may have a backpack, but its nice and even and it works with the figure adding all around bulk and works so well in the arm mode.

gaddangit. I just had to clear space for Menasor and Superion. I even thought I wouldnt pick Defensor up to save space for the eventual Bruticus...now after seeing these...dang it. Need more shelves.

I think he's thinking of the eventual recolor wave that will have Sunstreaker and Ironhide. I think Prowl is supposed to be in that wave.
I honestly dont know if Rook will be Prowl. I thought It would be Dead End honestly.
He would make a decent Brawl though.

And indeed Transmetal Cheetor as well. He even got to use it as a G1-style scene bumper.

actually I think he will be offroad. From in IDW is an truck now I believe, unless they going for G1 with these.

If Hasbro wanted to give the Combaticons a fifth limb member then give this guy a new head and swords to stick in his wrist holes and I'll be more than happy to call it a G1-style Wreckage figure.
He also looks so much better with his foot/fist on top as his primary alt mode weapon, the same way Alpha Bravo and Blades are best with the part acting as landing gear.
