The Idle Hands blog has a picture up of the anticipated Rescue Bots Optimus Primal toy, which is supposed to be available in fall of this year. It’s a large-scale figure and transforms from robot to TRex with one touch conversion. It will feature lights, over twenty sounds and phrases, and a working rescue drill.

Transformers News: Even More New Product Info from the UK Toy Fair

Idle Hands is also revealing that they got a look at some sales sheets, which showed a schedule of upcoming toy releases. If this list is correct, this will be a big spring/early summer for releases. See the list below:

The title made me exited, the content just confused me.

Is that a rescue bot thing? It looks to have BW Megatron's transformation sequence, well just with the arms switched and no alt-mode shells.

I'm not really sure what line this is supposed to come out under, which is why there isn't a statement to Rescue Bots, etc.

Edit: We have confirmation that it is a Rescue Bots toy. So updating original accordingly.

At least I had the good sense to hold off any criticism until I was able to take a closer look at this toy. It's very obviously a Rescue Bots toy so with that in mind I'll have to say that I absolutely love this. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about it. Cool concept, great design... Keeps all the recognizable "Prime" elements while giving him a Beast Mode that's easy for the youngsters to deal with. I may have to get two. One for my own Prime collection and one for my nieces' son.

As far as any negatives go... I'm saving those comments for those of you who actually have the balls to dump all over a product intended for a 5 year old. I mean come on, I'm an ass but even I have more decency than to rag on a toy meant for a 3 to 6 year age range.

If the Kre-O sets are anything to go by, Galvatron (either a brand new Decepticon leader or Megatron reborn) is indeed going to make an appearance... with a bang.

I thought there weren't any Decepticons in the Rescue Bots series. He'll probably use the drill and T-Rex head to rescue people from burning building and such.

Kre-O Glavatron Factory Battle - March

Seems like Kre-O is struggling with how to spell Galvatron. The customizer sets misspelled it too, but as "Galavatron".

Incidentally, I wonder what the Kre-O sets will be like. I doubt they'll make anymore "make a giant robot out of bricks", so I guess smaller Kreon-based playsets... but that's a pretty broad idea. Could there still be really big sets (like Lego does), or will they stick to $15 or less (like the few VS sets they've done). Regardless, I hope they take the opportunity to catch up on the first 3 movies worth of bots.

We’ve previously mentioned the Transformers Battle Masters in our coverage of the UK Toy Fair, and subsequent toy mentions, but we’ve now obtained some good pictures of both packaging and the figures themselves.

Over at the Idle Hands blog, there are pictures of both package designs and each of the Battle Masters available. The Battle Masters can be operated with two game controllers that are interchangeable. There is also an app for iPad/iPhone to complete the battle. The starter pack includes two bots, “The Diesel Destroyer” Optimus Prime and “The Calamity of Humanity” Megatron. Other single pack bots that will be available include Starscream, Prowl, Bumblebee, and Barricade. Battle Masters are set to be available April 2014.

Via - Angry Birds Transformers – Toys Coming, Can A Game Be Far Behind?

The Idle Hands Blog has come up with a copy of the Hasbro line-up for this years Toy Fair. But if you scroll down past the My Little Pony Flip And Whirl Rainbow Dash Pony, down below the Nerf N-Strike Mega Tunderbow… even below the Spidey Kapow Action Plush we get to what might be the big news item:

Angry Birds Transformers!!!

Racers – September
Battle Packs – September
Energon Multi-Pack – September
Bumblebee Blast – September
Telepods Optimus Raceway – September

If we are seeing Angry Birds Transformers in a toy line, its not a far leap to speculate there will be a video game offered up as well. Looks like September should be fun.

Is this even a transformer product, or is it some other toy brand that hasbro acquired then slapped TF colors on them?

Aside from Optimus, nothing looks like their name. Heck where's Starscream's cockpit. That could have saved more cost by simply repaint the same mold with different color and call it Metroplex, or Arcee.

Either that or these werent originally going to be a transformer product but due to poor testing (or just speculation that these wouldnt sell) they slapped on the TF brand to try and make them sell. The names should be: "Red and blue bulkhead", "Evil purple bulkhead", "Yellow Bulkhead", "Orange bulkhead"...

For me, the essential things to get right on a transformer are the general color, relative size, and the design of the head. I'll give you that, for the game, they need to be the same size. So they needed to get 2 things right.

Except for Optimus, these are a whole load of fail on those criteria.

Could be either or. I've seen Star Wars Angry Birds, so I kinda know what to expect here: Big Red as Optimus Prime and the King of Pigs as Megatron.

Angry Birds Star Wars is brilliant, Rovio did a great job of capturing the characters and turning them into their own birds and pigs.

So I have a lot of faith in them doing Transformers justice. Can't wait for them!
