Black Friday may be five months and one week away, but why not party early? Hot Rod and Rodimus molds have been painted black and purple, then reiterated into evil clones, or other characters altogether. Oddly enough, these Black Rodimus figures continue to be exclusives time and time again. With this latest entry, Gentei Wildrider, Animated Black Rodimus and G1 Black Hot Rodimus make their way into the illustrious toy galleries of Seibertron.com.

Gentei Wildrider was a 2008 Chara Hobby Show exclusive, using the Classics mold. This year, Animated Black Rodimus was a Hyper Hobby exclusive, and of course, a repaint of Rodimus Minor. And lastly, way back in 2001 the Tokyo Toy Festival offered 1500 Black Hot Rodimus figures. This toy is a straight black redeco of the G1 Hot Rod figure, and even uses the same stickers!

And what would all this talk about exclusive Black Rodimus figures be without updates to the gallery of Shattered Glass Rodimus? Check out all the Decepticons in their glory below!

I have the G1 Black Rodimus. Totally missed out on Gentei Wildrider (I wants!!). I have no interest in Shattered Glass Rodimus & Animated Black Rodimus. This is like Optimus having his own series of Nemesis Primes except Rodimus is having his own evil twin. There's something about giving the leader 'bots a nemesis that's just really cool. I mean, it's not enough to give them Megatron or Galvatron to fight, we now have to give them a Nemesis Prime or Nemesis Rodimus also.

Really wish Gentai Wildrider hadn't slipped by. That and I wish he wasn't crazy money after all. Why is he crazy money? At the time he was the only Stunticon available for Classics/Henkei. He's still only got Drag Strip for company as it is. I could understand the insanity of it all if there were a complete roster of Classics Stunticons but there isn't. Not even close.

You shouldn't have to resize pics. I think the site does it automatically if you upload an image that is larger than the specs I provided.

I don't have any of the black Cybertron or Robot Masters figures ... yet. The Robot Masters ones aren't that expensive to get, but they're just black versions of molds that are rather terrible.

Fang Wolf Black looks pretty nice. What's his story? Is he a Decepticon or just a black version of the same character?

Thing is, it may resize, but it rejects anything above 256 kb. I had to shrink them down to 25% original size, but it cuts the file size down to an 1/8.

Black Fang Wolf has no backstory at all, in fact his box is the same as the regular Fang Wolf, only with an additional sticker. It's safe to say he's the same character. He was fairly cheap, probably because he wasn't a major character. I paid slightly over what a regular imported GF toy would cost, should you be interested in hunting him down.

Hybrid Black G1 Convoy does have a backstory however, saving Ultra Magnus from Galvatron II with his new gun, which uses sunlight for power. The black is to get the most out of it, since black is the only color that totally absorbs and doesn't reflect.

Yipe, forgot about another black repaint for sale "near me" in Amsterdam: Robot Masters RM-11 Black Beast Convoy. The mold doesn't look too bad actually... I still think RM Lioconvoy is the best, and yes, he does have a black repaint as well, as a Decepticon.
