Also solicited were Barricade and Brawn, which could mean a predictable redeco/retool of the Swerve Legends mould for the Minibot, while Barricade is a bit more vague, could it be an update of the old Micromaster, in time for the (also still rumoured) Titan Wars? Or could it be something else entirely? Finally, a couple of days ago we also saw Backtrack and Autobot Wheelie join the groupings. Tell us in the forums, what do you think will come out of these Trademarks?

Trust me I love Seacons as much as the next guy but I don't know if titan class would be right for them. That being said if we were given the choice between titan or nothing then I'm damn sure going to pick titan.

He has to be able to hold couch sessions with Fort Max. Anything smaller would just look ridiculous.

Hasbro brings back Action Masters only so they can continue to keep Rung's alternate mode a secret.

Punishment brought about my favorite version of Barricade. I loved what they did with him. It is also possible that we have a new decepticon combiner coming and he could be part of it.
Would also love to see the beast combiners. except for the Technobots, we would have all the regular combiners

HA!
In all seriousness: Roberts needs to reveal what his alt mode does so they can make a toy of him and make it work. I honestly believe he has the ability to fertilize sparks and essentially create new life. (MTMTE 17 has him stepping off with Rodimus, so maybe he revived Luna-1 sparks). Makes sense why the Functionalists would hate him too. I hope so: Rung has been such a good character that I hope he really does get a moment to shine (and a toy I can add to my Lost Light crew

Combiner Wars/Generations updates to the classic characters
The Reality:
RiD easy-to-transform garbage that doesn't even get released anyways
An actual Generations bad-cop Barricade would be pretty neat, especially with CW Brawl around the corner. Maybe then we could get Blackout, Bonecrusher, and Frenzy...

Why? It would be easy to do with them what they did with Devastator, which is basically make oversized versions of the G1 figures.steals_your_goats wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I couldn't care less about the others, but a Titan Class Predaking would be so much awesome.

1. Bonecrusher is one of the Constructicons.
2. Frenzy and Rumble have mixed up their colors so many times that any toy of one (maybe except the movie Frenzy) could be repurposed as the other. So that means that with the rumoured TW Rumble, you have Frenzy.

A Classics Barricade would be pretty cool though he could be a new character in RID. Not sure who Backtrack is and a new Classics Wheelie could be cool, While Brawn would be awesome since the old classics toy isn't quite as cool as it used to be

I know it would be easy but it wouldn't really fit. Devastator was the first combiner so him being giant kinda makes sense and if they do titan Predaking that too would make sense because he was the largest combiner. If they did do a titan Piranhacon I wouldn't think twice about buying it, I just don't think realistically they Will.

I don't think it would work very well to have a voyager size guy be a weapon for Piranacon. He'd definitely have to be a single guy at deluxe size. At that point, why not just do them like everyone else with a repaint of legends Shockwave since they were originally scramble city style combiners rather than separate like Predaking and Devastator.

Making the combined mode more proportionate would work. At least lengthening the upper legs in combine mode.

You guys have to calm down a bit. Trademarks arent filed at the tail end of the production cycle so I am not sure we would be getting these so soon. Also, Hasbro did say there were no plans for Beast combiners and a firm no is rare from them (instead of the typical we'll see which give hope that never pans out). And if Predaking is released, I am pretty certain it will not be typical scramble city. Hasbro said they will make one titan a year and there arent that many to go around. Pradaking would be much better served as a Titan. I think this trademark is for a titan predaking, not sure if it will come out next year or the one after (with Fort Max probably coming out next year).

Hasbro has given us deluxes in the past that barely transformed such as movie scorponok and ravage. They could also go that way with Rung and simply give him a different mode to be in rather than a new full out alt mode.

Rumble and Frenzy have been rumoured to already be part of the Titan Wars line to fit into Blaster/Soundwave. We already have Buzzsaw so it makes sense that these are going to follow.

Such a colour scheme will get old very very quickly.
It also reeks of laziness.

Yeah, but considering, before legends nemesis, it was (I think), nemesis leobreaker, and armada nemesis prime, in the last 15 years, I think we could stand to get at least a couple.
And, as mp 10 black proved, the paint scheme can be made in such a way that it doesn't seem lazy (those subtle, yet incredible teal accents)
I mean, no one says you have to buy every nemesis type character that TT makes, but, being able, and knowing, that you can choose your fav mold, or coolest update (aoe nemesis for me) is really nice

And really, I don't want to hear "reeks of laziness" until we discuss this issue of 9+ seekers across 3 size ranges in the last couple of years (foc, legends, leader, armada)

My guess is that "Backtrack" is a new trademark for "Outback," which can't be trademarked anymore (for easily understandable reasons). The name is similar enough, and his G1 mold sire Brawn has been renewed for trademark as well, so make of that what you will.

True, but I don't think Hasbro is renewing that name to release a new version of an Armada minicon or make an addition to the expanded universe of the live-action movies. Fallback has been a replacement name for Outback, yes, but it doesn't mean it has to be forever. Maybe it's not trademarkable anymore for some reason. Other characters have gone through multiple renames over the years too. "Fallback" as a new name for G1 Outback is as good a guess as any at this point.

You can blame things like Nucleon Quest Super Convoy or Black Landcross & Six Turbo for that I guess as much as the more usual answer which would be Nemesis Prime is cool.
It's OK that there is lots of reasons for things to be Black too from the simple Stealth Explanations to exotic armours.
Also I like that Black Reral Rex - and I'm still very happy to see repainted official toys too. I'm not the sort of person to complain every time Soundwave gets a Black paint job - I'll positively welcome it for the Titan Wars one too - seems like a shoe in that Blaster and Soundwave will get their usual repaints at some point either from Hasbro or Takara.
I'd be quite happy to see the rest of the Minibots repainted Black too but that is a conversation topic for another thread.
