In keeping with the trend of Siege Leader Class figures, this figure appears to be a Voyager size figure with additional accessories and/ or armor, and in this case, it's Prime's iconic trailer! He also features a gun and shield.
While Roller is not included with this iteration of Prime and his trailer, it does come with the Combat Deck, doubling as a repair bay.
Moving along, we have confirmation of three figures that were leaked in a listing last week, the first of which is Voyager Class Grapple!
Continuing on to Deluxe Class, we have something of a new character, Ironworks! Formerly a Micromaster base, Ironworks has been given a robot mode, and looks to be a similar style to the Weaponizers of the Siege line, being able to be taken apart to be rearranged into base mode. Maybe this will be a big feature of the upcoming line? And if I'm not mistaken, it looks like Ironworks has connectors that will allow connections to base modes of figures from previous lines...
Being that Ironworks was a Micromaster base, it seems only fitting to keep including Micromasters in Earthrise as well! Big Daddy and his buddy Trip-Up are heading up the Hot Rod patrol.
So there you have it for the first glimpse of Transformers War for Cybertron: Earthrise! No doubt we'll see at least a few more reveals at NYCC 2019 this weekend, hopefully some Decepticons among them.
What do you think, fellow Cybertronians? Are you excited about this new line and these new figures? Please let us know below, and feel free to speculate away on what the next figures will be!

Basically, it feels like if the Classics toys had recreated the original character designs instead of making updated versions then the current toys wouldn't have to keep going back trying to recreate what the Classics toys opted not to do.

- Big Daddy's buddy is Trip-Up, though it remains to be seen if he actually keeps the name
- Now we know the reason why "Irontread" is named as such: trademark nothing, the base is named Ironworks now. Coincidentally, this lines up with the BotCon 2012 Invasion story.
Definitely gonna try and get Ironworks and the Hot Rods. I'm content with my Henkei Convoy and RtS Solar Storm Grapple, so no need in getting the Earthrise ones.

I wanted a proper CHUG Prime and now they won't stop coming.

It's time they made an effort to hide his wheels in CHUG too, at least for one Prime figure.
And why the MP-10 style head again? They just used something like this for PotP & Siege. I think they should use the MP-44 sculpt for inspiration. (And while they're at it, I'd love a Starscream with a face-sculpt that does him justice, and a fun transformation for the canopy.)
Grapple looks great, too! Like a simplified version of MP-35 (but not too simple.)
I wish all this stuff came out like five or ten years ago.
BTW, you know who'd make a cool weaponiser or whatever's the next comparable thing?

Autobot X.

I dont need another optimus prime...
I dont need another optimus prime...
Danggit!
Grapple is a must get. I love tgat Ironworks matches Omega Supreme. Looks lime he has both the TR and Omega Supreme's connectors

Ironworks...very brave trying to get a 'base' out of a deluxe sized figure (thought TR would have been a good lesson that they need to be Voyager at the min) but it looks good and definitely what I was wanting out of the line to give the micromasters some purpose, plus a robot mode to and still weaponiserish parts.
Primes Trailers looks small

As for the toy line name, could be worse.

Earth prime... well ne makes siege prime completely redundant....
Ironworks is one of the cleverest updates of a g1 concept....
Posted by Cobotron on October 1st, 2019 @ 1:26pm CDT
We also kinda nailed it on Ironworks!

So Weaponizers have been traded up for Baseinizers? Fortinizers?
Whatever they are, count me in!
I hear what you're saying Sabrblade about these vs. Classics, but I'm no less excited. I think that Grapple looks pretty fun.
Hope we see more of the line by the end of the weekend.

Not too sure about TR: what look like TR connectors are actually halves of Omega's. TR connectors are the same throughout, but the halves are split between "male" (the "C-shaped" ones) and "female"

Anyway, it looks like Leader Optimus may be my son's first "major" Transformers toy. I got him PotP Leader Optimus, but I felt like it was too complicated for him and thus it sits in my closet.

Or a preliminary name that was changed before finalization, like how "Titan Wars" and "Prime Wars" were changed to "Titans Return" and "Power of the Primes", respectively.ZeroWolf wrote:So the armageddon name was fake then, interesting.

-Prime: looks ok, but the head is terrible. Most likely a pass for me.
-Grapple: looks great, but I wish he was a modern crane truck and not so G1-y. I will be buying him.
-Ironworks: I really am liking this figure, but I did get my hopes up when i read that it could have been a code name for Ironfist. He is an instant buy.
-Mircomasters: They look nice, but I am getting sick of that same base mold they both use along with around 3 from the siege line. Will pick up if I see them in stores.
Overall, I really wish they would just stay on Cybertron since I don't want to buy the same figures all over again once they are slightly remolded to there earth modes.

I dont need another Optimus Prime
I dont need a DANGIT
That is an oddly large opening between the trailer wheels. Probably a cost saving measure, but I would love ro see a Roller that goes in there.
Grapple is a must have
I love that Ironworks matches Omega Supreme. Lioks lime he has both the TR And Supreme track adapters? Whats the head? He sorta looks familiar?
And the crane piece would be a fantastic piece for a Hoist. Just saying.

Does Ironworks base mode still have the attack mode?
The Hot-Rod patrol looks to be reshells of the sports car patrol member with bad arms.

So much for all the goodwill and potential Siege garnered. Hopefully Part Three of the trilogy will be something interesting again that isn't the same old tired designs spat out again...

What's not to get behind? Is it the complexity of the transformation, or the redundancy of the figures?
With the notable and understandable exception of Springer, I've liked all of Siege's transformations and robot modes. The Autobot alt-modes are great. I made a decision a few years ago to stop collecting Masterpieces for a bunch of reasons, but the main one was price, and this is exactly what I've been looking for.

Nope. Just more GEEWUN forever and ever because Warden is allergic to anything not GEEWUN and because we still buy it anyway.

It's the fact that there's basically no innovation in terms of design. I just don't like the lack of new designs because part of what was fun about T30 and some of PW was the new designs that still had elements from the classic designs

As for Ironworks, I'm wondering if this will be a new trend: instead of vehicle it animal alt modes, industrial or building like transformers to fill out cities of the City Bots (Titans) to make bigger playsets. I would be all for it
Posted by o.supreme on October 1st, 2019 @ 3:49pm CDT
Anyway, it does seem kind of a downer, but expected. Still as Siege showed us, they will give us a few offerings outside of the 84-86 core group. The 2021 line will no doubt offer more from futuristic shows/lines like Victory.
There's only been a handful of reveals, while they don't exactly excite me, I'm sure Thursday morning there will be much more, plus the last wave reveals of Siege show that there is a lot of potential for this line (Snapdragon, the rest of the Autobot Targetmasters etc...)

We got plenty of that before, with Classics, Universe 2008, and Generations up until Thrilling 30. "Innovation" in design of older characters. Classic/iconic features mixed with modern alt-modes and reinterpreted or stylized elements. It's only now that we're getting G1 done the way that many, many fans have been craving: a real update of the original G1 toys and cartoon character models with modern toy technology, creating figures that really capture the looks of the toys and cartoons that started the whole franchise. Yes, we had Masterpiece before, but this is a retail line that can put out more characters faster and costs the consumer significantly less money. Sabr said it earlier (possibly in another thread), but what many fans feel is that THIS is the way Classics should have been back in 2006. It's not more of the same to us, it's been a long time coming!

Earth is, in terms of creativity, the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Transformers. By the context of the setting alone, I won't have any part in Earthrise. If I wanted to look at outdated planes, trucks and cars, Well, that is what MPs and Reissues are for...

I feel like the third part of the trilogy may have what you want, though we'll have to wait till this time next year to see if it pans out.

Actually the opposite, this thread was already split from the fan vote thread at its beginning. Give it a day or 2 before others realize that thread is specifically for the fan vote now and the next line thread is right here.

I think so too. The Tetrajets and Shockwave were such a huge step in the right direction. Alogside those, Jetfire and Omega Supreme being literally all you could ask for in a modern update of a classic figure. Meanwhile, Earthrise gives you 1984 Optimus Prime, 1985 Grapple and 1989 Micromasters (albeit upscaled, a bit). Figures that exist already, in multiple lines.

Would be cool if the third part gave us "Tales of the unknown" themed stuff, such as "remember in beast wars we talked about rugby base? Well these are based off that" and "remember Velocitron? Think fast because here you go" and "remember kiss players? Well that's good and buried. But here is stuff based off Alternity" or even, "remember that one time that one background character that only appeared in one panel of that obscure comic mentioned that one planet that has never been mentioned again? Here is a whole wave for it." I'd like things we've never seen before, and maybe the Titan can be Majin Zarak and another Titan could be a Pirate ship whose base mode is a desert island... Someday

Having the truck side/arm kibble on the back puts it in line with the KO Oversized Classics Prime that came out a year or two ago that moved said kibble to the back where it should've been.
What's weird though is that the front of the shins look like they're reused from the Siege voyager. It has what is the old trailer port on the outside of the left knee with the indent for it on the outside of the right knee as well as the effect part pegs. It also still looks to have the flaps on the knees as well as what was the pin hinge for the truck side flaps on the inside of the legs too. However the new trailer hitch is smack dab in the center of the legs cut in half so it's definitely not using the old port as those wheels are not switching to the other side of the legs as can be seen from the placement of that square hole between the wheels. It doesn't switch its placement between robot and truck modes as it would had the wheels switched sides this time.
So the feet, shins, and head? are reused.
I love how the Ironworks base has a robot mode now. It's one of the few G1 things I have left so I'm excited for an update. Grapple looks amazing. I can't wait to see the flood of Solar Storm Grappels for sale soon.
I wonder if the Micromasters still turn into guns.
However, I'm upset that they've moved onto Earth modes already. I was hoping for at least a few more Cybertronian molds. Especially if they're not doing the battle damage anymore. It makes me want to strip it off the other ones even more now.
It sucks that they never "finished" the seekers either. I wanted at least the Elites/Coneheads to go with the Aces, Rainmakers and Redwing. Then maybe the Welcoming Committee quartet as well. Seven seekers a year, that's a good number. The last year could've been the stragglers. Slipstream, Sandstorm, Air Warrior, G2 Ramjet, G2 Starscream, AM/SG Thundercracker and...black death Starscream?...Ghost Starscream?...Botcon Dirge?(assuming Dirge and Ramjet would've been retooled differently as they should)
