TransformersMovie.com in changing, maybe even transforming, but not much anyways. When you go to the website it now mentions the third movie's title "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" at the very top of your browser in the title bar. To view the site click here.

This also confirms the next installment's title, if we need more confirmation anyways.

Oh yeah! The title has grown on me a bit and the title even looks cool! With that big picture of the moon within the words!

Wow, that title looks great, slick! Not sure about the wording of the title, makes me think of the Pink Floyd album, Dark side of the moon, I'm an old G1 fan, but that's not my generation, is it a reference to Pink Floyd? What gives?

EDIT:- I just couldn't help myself...

It's an astrological phrase.

http://astrology.about.com/od/foundatio ... rkMoon.htm

The dark of the Moon is the most powerful time psychically. It seems to lure us toward the deepest self, the longings of the soul, and restful listening is a great way to receive these messages. It's been compared to the dormant seed under the winter snow, or the cocoon holding the butterfly. You might feel tired, or crave quiet solitude. It's important to make space for the unfolding of the spirit at this time. Like death itself, it's preparation for the new beginning that begins with the crescent.

http://willowsweb.blogspot.com/2009/05/ ... on-in.html

The Dark of the Moon is a time of allowing the previous lunar cycle to fade to black. It's a time of inner stillness and wrapping up when we function on emotion and inner knowing regarding what needs to happen (if anything) to complete the lunar cycle and prepare for the New Moon. With the connections to Mercury, Uranus and Aquarius, we are preparing intellectually, emotionally and physically for the changes up ahead. It's a busy Dark of the Moon, but in Taurus, it should have a nice, sensuous feel. All in good time. Kick back and let this cycle wrap up as it will.

Dark of the Moon - Another name given to the new moon.

http://www.answers.com/topic/dark-of-the-moon-astronomy

Dark of the moon - The time period of approximately a week at the time of a new moon, when the light of the moon is absent at night. Any period in which the light of the moon is obscured.

And now the "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" website, TransformersMovie.com has been updated as well to reflect the title change, as noticed by fellow Seibertronians gigazarak and SlyTF1. Hopefully a teaser trailer won't be far behind! Christmas? Superbowl? When do you think the first trailer will debut?

Thanks for the definition, and here I thought it was all about Pink Floyd! Oh well, I still think it's worthy of mashing up!

I like it! The logo looks cool with the moon in the background.

The subtitle sounded a little cumbersome to me at first, but it's growing on me. It's different and has a slightly sinister sound to it.

I like it. It's flashier than the bland gray of the previous 2. For the first movie it was alright, because it was new, but for RoTF they could have changed the color.

As for the name, it's alright, I guess. at first I was undecided on it, as i had high expectations, but it wasn't a big disappointment. Now, with they way the logo is, it's good.

I used a Transformers font I downloaded aages ago (just did a quick search, you can get it here), so I used the font, and retyped the whole thing, no hackery of the existing text required, experience has told me that it never usually works out that well!

The only problem with this is that the font inst as wide as the font they used in the original image so I scaled the width of it, a bit brutal, but it got the job done. Added a bevel effect and a gradient overlay, and it looks passable as the original. If you PM me, I can send you the original PSD if you're curious!

EDIT:- I used Photoshop CS4 btw...

If by "call in to work" you mean have a quick visit to work on a day off then no. :P
(Because that's how I interpret "call in to work")

But yeah, chuck a sickie is to have a day off when you're perfectly healthy. To make it worse, I can't even go see it that night because I won't finish until well after 8pm, the nearest theatre is an hour away, and I really have to be there the next day!

The 30th of June 2011 is a Thursday in Australia, so I guess that's why we are getting it a day earlier over here.

Movies usually open on a Thursday here? Or Wednesday midnight? That's right isn't Burn?

China and Japan get ripped off tho! Do they figure it will be bootlegged in those countries long before that date anyway? Curious...

Always a Thursday. SOME movies, depending on their popularity, will get a Wednesday midnight release, though most of them are taking on a more "pay more to see first!" attitude.

I'm glad there's a connotation to Pink Floyd up top. But technically, astronomers don't call it "dark of the moon." There's no absolute description of it, but we generally call it the "far side of the moon" since it faces away from the Earth.

But that's just because I worked in a planetarium and my husband has a bachelors in Astronomy. And I cannot wait to see this movie. 8)

Im gonna have to say the Super Bowl. 1- Its the most watched tv event in the US all year and there isnt a better time to do so. And 2- Thats when ROTFs trailer came out last year and they even built up the suspense leading up to the debut of the trailer with reminders that it was soon to premiere. I was almost as excited about that as I was about the game!

I'm Australian, and I didn't know this! Good one!

I live in Melbourne, so while being jealous of you, I would'nt have made it all the way to Sydney for the premiere, I don't think my fandom extends that far, but if they came to Melbourne... :P
