Shockwave is nice, but nothing beats Jazz!
Posted by Prowl1529 on April 26th, 2010 @ 12:48pm CDT
I have nothing against Demolisher but chose between Jazz and Sockwave is very cruel to complicate even more probable we will see some other company putting other exclusive like Prowl, Bliztwing, Astrotrain or Wheeljack. I hope someone cracks this exclusives so by this way we will have all of them!

How can they not see this will cause backlash from the fans? All these characters should be available up front. At the very least, all these added characters should be available via download, and the retail purchase character is just saving the user a few bucks when they purchase the others.
Whoever birthed this concept in videogames needs to be fired.

This is why I usally opt just not to buy from anywhere at all and just do without. Life's too short to be wasting time on figuring out this nonsense.

...Screw it, I'm going with Jazz

Posted by Jenus on April 26th, 2010 @ 1:53pm CDT
This is my favorite character and I already have this pre-ordered at Gamestop. I was really getting to like the idea of playing as Shockwave but now with Jazz I want him more. Why oh why do they have to do this to us it's torture.

Oh man that picture of Jazz looks awesome.

A month or so after it's released you'll probably have full access through the online stores anyway.
However, as good as Jazz looks I am tempted...

My thoughts exactly. It would be an ignorant move for Activition to allow ONLY one extra character. These "exclusives" are just a way to start you off while giving you an option of buying the rest as DLC; the icing on the cake. Only issue for consumers is deciding on which to get for free with the game in choosing the respective retailer. Being a Jazz purist, I'll go ahead and purchase the game at Best Buy. Honestly though, the wait until June is killing me.

Will there be bonuses or unlockables or what not for specific stores here?
I missed out on a special edition of a game a few months back b'cos in my excitement to buy it from my local store i didn't know there were 2 versions...

Futurama quote FTW!
Jazz looks sick. I'm sure we'll be able to unlock all the characters eventually...I suggest putting the codes up in the Video Games Forum here eventually so we all have easy access without having to dig it up on the net.

To all the people who complain about exclusive characters, it's a business. Companies are willing to spend extra amount of money to get consumers to buy the game at their place. Like people said, all the characters will probably be downloadable or the code to unlock them will show up a week later after the game launches.

Games companies dont make 5 different versions of the game just put a different slip of paper in different batches for unlocks.
No need to get bent out of shape

AutobotOutlaw wrote:From what I can tell this looks like the same thing they did with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, in that different stores had specific character codes in them that allowed you to unlock said character early. However it was just a button input code that could be used by anyone, so once posted online anyone could unlock the characters from the other store releases. That was also an Activision release I believe, so I think they're doing the same thing here. So in the end I think everyone will be happy and have access to which ever character they would prefer.
Hmmm...
Unfortunately, not all of the MUA2 exclusive characterswere unlocked the same way...
As I recall, although Hulk, for example, merely required a packed in code or the fulfillment of certain in-game objectives (that's right, you didn't actually need the code to unlock him), Juggernaut pretty much necessitated actually preordering from Gamestop because you had to register your game and they had limited 'supplies'.
So the big question, to my mind, is which, if any, of the characters will require this sort of registration?

I dunno how Best Buy is, but i know with Gamestop, the $5 you put down on the pre-order goes towards the purchase of the game when it comes out.

Jenus wrote:I was wondering has anyone gone to Best Buy to pre-order this game from them? I went in the other day and they told me they didn't have a pre-order for it yet even though when I type in my zip code and there is the store next to me I went to.
I don't think all places will have the pre-orders up yet. In fact, you might only be able to set up a preorder for this game only through websites right now. Not sure though as I don't work at any of these places, but I DO know that most places have stock items listed on their websites long before they have them available. So maybe the preorders won't be up until the middle of May. Again though, I can't really be sure cause I don't really know, just speculating and assuming and guessing and other words that mean I know nothing.
