Gah! More friggin' repaints! Why?!?

That being said, they couldn't have picked a better mold for Roadbuster.

I don't mind repaints. s someone said in a notherthread its a way for Hasbro to make money on their molds. And then gives the collector things like Targetmaster Cyclonus.

And I'm sure I'll pick up the Road Buster vs Dirge set. If only for the Cyb Starscream mold.

I still don't get why hasbro just refuses to produce a general release of an individually packaged Cyb Starscream mold.

I hope these are easier to find than the Vector Prime vs Starscream 2 packs from Cybertron.

As for Ratbat and Springer, I might pick them up. Since I missed both molds back in Cybertron.

Come on. It's Hasbro. Repaint is their middle name. Diggin' the Dirge repaint colours though. I must say.

I like that we're getting comics. And since I missed out on the StarScream mold in that size, and like Cybertron Sideways even though this looks like a gay pride version, I wouldn't mind getting either of these sets.

I will probably pick up both comic two packs and I'm especially excited about the War Within pack, although I think it's kind of sad that Springer can't triple change.

Looks like I'm getting my wish, in a way, for War Within characters that are not Titanium.

Every one of those repaints rock, and they couldn't have picked better figures. The "Comic-Packs" are a great idea, and I hope to see more of them.

If anything, all these Exclusives should be an indicator of how wildly successful the TF franchise is right now.

I wish there was a way to get the comics without buying the repaint, I already own 3 of the 4 molds(PM me with the right answer of which 3 I have for a free prize!)

Ah, these look much better than the pictures from Botcon. Springer and Ratbat's colors are much richer, and Roadbuster doesn't have green wheels!

That Roadbuster repaint looks a lot better than it did in the pics from Botcon. I'd still love to see Roadbuster get a new mold, though.

Anyone else think Roadbuster looks more like Springer than the BotCon repaint did?

I'll probably get these because I like the molds. And I've been wanting a Evac repaint.

Darn it, I thought since animated was coming out I’d have money I wouldn’t spend, but then Hasbro makes all this good stuff and takes it anyway.

I like these repaints more than the original toy colors.

Plus, with the sets costing $20 each, and that old Target store coupon for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more, you can get the whole set of 4 for only $35! That's $8.75 a figure for 2 Deluxes and 2 Voyagers!

Roadbuster looks pretty cool. An interesting character. The display model at Botcon had a different color scheme.

These are all superb! I want a new head for my Roadbuster, but otherwise, yesssss....this is a much better mold for Roadbuster than Springer, and Evac is much better as Springer, but Energon Bulkhead is still the best Springer, since G1 Springer.

And I have to figure out, how does one make Dirge a conehead from this?
Re: HASBRO continues updates with Target Exclusive Comic packs (689216)
Posted by Gasper on April 28th, 2008 @ 7:24pm CDT
Both sets look pretty good, and the price is damn good too. And Roadbuster makes a good sub for Springer. And Ratbat is PERFECT. Dirge will make a addition to my Classics Seeker corp, despite him not being a Classics Seeker mold.

Cool. Im not a big fan of repaints but i never got that Starscream mold so ill be getting that one. Only time repaints are goog is when they are old molds or ones that most people couldnt find.

Even if they are repaints, it still rocks to have a Wrecker.

I do. Not having green wheels helps too. As for the Springer/Evac figure, this was the most exciting news from Botcon for me.

Everyone but Dirge cause it origionaly came in a overpriced 2 pack for a fig you just paid an arm and a leg for in Supreme Class.

I'm going with that cause it's the only reason why I don't have that mold(I thing the only Cybertron one I'm missing).

Roadbuster, Ratbat and Dirge all look cool IMO. Springer's okay, but could be better. And the comics are a nice addition. I'll definitely be picking up both sets come the Fall.

Not totally impressed with these...
I'll have to have some extra extra money to sway myself into buying them.
Unfortunately, not all of my summer job money can go to collecting toys.

I think that's the reason most of us, including myself don't have that particular mold.

I had a chance to buy Supreme Starscream but passed and got Primus instead. Better choice I think.

Still again I ask, why is Hasbro so intent on not releasing this mold by itself. Only in weird 2 packs. Hope I can find this 2 pack this time around.

I think these look good, I didn't pay too much attention to Cybertron so I'm not worried about them being repaints.

Although Springer makes sense because he features in the comic, I would rather have had a repaint of Evac as G1 Whirl as I like the slighly more obscure figures (like they did in Classics 1.0 using the legends figure).

I really like Dirge, though I'd have liked a slight remold to give his head a conical shape! But then I'm not familiar with WW, so I have no idea how he appeared in it.

Gotta love that price -- and thanks for the coupon, Scaleface!

Joy! The Dirge-Roadbuster pack is perfect for me, since I always wanted both molds but didn't have the money back in Cybertron. And Dirge is one of my favorite Seekers. Primus has smiled upon me.

These are a great idea. As soon as new product starts to hit the shelves, it can chase away the last remnants of the cursed movie line, and there will be joy in my Transformers collection once again.

Love the idea that we're seeing Springer and Ratbat figures. Niether have seen alot of action with their characters in the toy world since G1.

Kinda lost on the other set, neither figure looks good in terms of color.

I'm also wondering about the price point, since these sets claim to have a voyager and deluxe figure plus comic. Does that mean $30+?

I believe they’ll be $20 each, like the Skywarp and Magnus set from early last year.

The display at Botcon said $19.99, which was the same price as the Ultra Magnus/Skywarp set back in Classics.

So buy both at the same time, use the coupon Target distributed online earlier this year to get $5 off, and you pay $35 for 4 figures and 2 comics!

That's how repaints should be sold, in bulk for a discount price!

I'd have rather they made one of the Evac redecos a Decepticon. Instead of Blades, they could have made him Vortex.

Hmm. A Search-and-rescue chopper doesn't seem like a very Decepticon'y choice for an alternate mode.

Those four repaints are all excellent, way better than the originals even.

I'll try and buy both sets.

Watch out, they have expiration dates. Mine is June 26, 2008. The cynic in me says its so that we'll be forced to use them on the various movie repaints, since Animated won't have wide coverage by then and Universe won't be out yet. I've got $50 that I'll have to burn on repaints... :-?

The combiner limbs are pretty obscure choices but my reason for Whirl was to go with Roadbuster (then we'd have both G1 Deluxe Autobots).

I was originally going to pass on all of these (I want Blades), but the more I look at Springer, the more I want it, especially since I've started collecting Springer toys. These repaints are pretty good though, and a great idea with the comics included. Reminds me of the Star Wars comic 2-packs they had a few years back. Sometimes I don't like bad repaints, but these are good, way to go Hasbro! They're really taking steps in the right direction after finally being done with the Movie. :APPLAUSE:

FYI, Star Wars and GI Joe both have comic two packs all the way up to the present...

So it is a good idea, and about time that Transformers did them more. :P

I think Vortex as a rescue helpcopter works great, because they turned Onslaught into a police SWAT vehicle, so Vortex is a rescue helpcopter, perhaps they could also repaint the upcoming Hound into Swindle! I'm sure there is an upcoming tank and jet they could make into Brawl and Blastoff too.
