Doubt it. Those come out too soon for this to be it.

Perhaps a new series name? I know it's not traditional, but things like "Super God Master force" or whatever have happened...maybe they want something fresh...

TRANSFORMERS: Power Core Combiners :-?

Or just a little sub-heading like "powerlinx" for toys...

Here's hoping things go better with these combiners than with the Energon line...

Hmm, "power core"? Maybe Hasbro is coming up with an improved version of the combiner hub used by RiD Landfill/CR Build King!

this has ROTF repaints of Armada/cyberton/energon powerlink figures all over it

I hope not, the basic powerlink figures don't have the ROTF feel and the combiner teams have been over done. Do I need a 4th of the barricade/heatwave/onslaught mold? I doubt it.

Head/Target/Powermasters?

Just a thought.

The first thing that jumped to my mind was the Squawktalk/Beastbox type combining.

I thought of more modern versions of the Energon figures. The state of the art has really advanced in the last six-eight years since the Energon figures were designed (remember, if they came out in '04, then they started to be designed **much** earlier).

If this means a re-release of the RID Optimus Prime/Ultra Magnus Combiner, I'm in! (been looking all over the net for this, too expensive...)

I'm guessing this will either involve Powermasters or combiners with an additional spark crystal gimmick.

That sounds good to me. Core combiner sounds like they'd be joined by a central hub like that. It might be related to the Arcee combiner.

Whatever it is, if it is old school style, and not the bayformers, they're sold.

Perhaps the that strange Frenzy/Rumble prototype who turns into what appears to be a lumpy chunk has something to do with this. Just a thought...

anyone who's listened into these trademark things before knows that the trademarked idea sounds way cooler than it actually turns out to be... I expect nothing spectacular.

"Power Core Combining"? Sounds like slash fic terminology for something else.

:D  glad to know i'm not the only one who thought that. But seriously "power core combining" i'm thinking something like head/target/powermasters you remove the core and transfer it to a differnt bot to activate different power ups(maybe the blue one makes guns pop out and the red one makes blades pop out) and you combine the two core for a minibot assistant. I'd buy something like that easily.

Wonder if they'll have individual bot modes...

Greatness! The word combiner, love it :).
Hopefully it won't be overplayed like the energon deluxes. But I don't think it will be a 5 robot combiner thing.
Gimmick stuff like minicons/cyberkeys is cool, the keys didn't get in the way of a good robot mode.
I'm looking foward to this new line, but will it be out before the next movie? I mean, that would be Universe and Animated left overs, in the middle of this new line and the launch of Movie 3 bots. How is a backwater country like Holland going to get that right in stores?

Can't wait for Rumble/Frenzy :s
Re: Hasbro Trademarks "Power Core Combiners" (1019767)

I think this is probably just going to be some over-gimmicked line that totally ruins every toy in said line for the sake of said gimmick. I'm think it's similar to powermasters and brainmasters, but a little basic. I see it like this: You get a little robot who turns into a block(Power Core), then you stick it inside the actual transformer and it activates the lights and sounds.

Either that or it could be a total rip-off of Mugenbine. Where you just have a non-transforming block that holds all the electronics and then you take the parts and combine them with the block to form the different modes.

Ooh ooh ooh.....

Maybe it's new Orbot tech.

Apower unit has to be combined to a central unit to allow him to connect to his gestalt limbs.

They would have trademarked this a while back if it had been intended for the biker threesome. Hasbro has to trademark names and such almost a year before they can use them simply because the toy design to production time takes so long.

While we are making guesstimates of what this means, I wonder if this is Hasbro's way of getting around the 'kids do not know what cassettes are anymore' and are going to release a Soundwave, Soundblaster and Blaster whose minions transform into rectangular 'power cores' and attach into the chests. Horribly optimistic I am sure.

Maybe at some point Hasbro considered bringing over the Hybrid Style figures from Japan. But then they remembered, " :o) Durr...small toys = small parts. Which means we probably can't sell these, at least as childrens toys, over here. Some kid might swallow Primes fists. #-o "
