Master Piece Rodimus Prime out in UK retail

Thanks to seibertron.com member Pretender Skywarp, we now know that the Hasbro version of Master Piece Rodimus Prime is available at UK retail. The figure is available at toysrus.co.uk as home delivery, but only in select stores for GBP 59.99. No word on if this will see wider release in the UK soon, there is, however, an interesting little difference to this toy compared to previous Hasbro TRU exclusive MP figures in the UK - the box is a Euro box in all 12 languages like the rest of the European Transformers releases. This might be a sign for a Europe wide release of Rodimus Prime in the near future. So keep your optics sharp!

Clearly they go on the arms somewhere but why the Decepticon logo???

Nothing in the instructions I take it?

Mrs. S said I could have one as my consolation for missing AA, I had held out for the Hasbro one as I couldnt justify the extra £60, just for the trailer. The Firebolt is neat, but I can see why people don't like the colour scheme.

At least it made some significant difference between the Hasbro and the Takara one.

Takara box MUCH cooler. Trailer much cooler. Offshoot, just a little too bright, but how can you pass up a Masterpiece Nebulon partner?

This is the first Masterpiece figure where I havent bought the Takara version, the prices are just getting stupid now when you consider that Prime, Megatron and Starscream etc were sub £100.

£60 for masterpiece hotrod is a joke. I wouldnt mind so much if he was the same scale as MP Prime but he isnt!
Its HOTROD not masterpiece Rodimus, if there gona call him rodimus i want the damn trailer and not that stupid oversized targetmaster

will wait till this guy starts getting sold for £20 like what happend with skywarp

Cheers pretender skywarp for that. I'm heading to TRU for the little ones birthday present tomorrow so may have to take a detour down the TF aisle and see if he is there. Only thing is I'm still leaning more towards the TT version for the full Rodimus experience.

Check the website first and do the click and collect if you can, it'll show you what other stores near you have stock too.

Actually after seeing those pictures I think I'll pass.

In my opinion they have completely ruined him by not painting his face and hands, that really was a big fail. Not including the trailer was a mistake as well, and for that they're charging £60!

I have to say, it doesn't look much on the shelves, especially when compared to the leader class figs. £50 would have probably been a more appropriate price point.

Cant say Im too bothered about unpainted hands or face, seems the Takara version has grey hands and face too. I agree that it could be £10 cheaper but then everying could be £10 cheaper and people would be happy.

The Hasbro version doesnt have black shins which is more like the G1 toys.

Im trying to transform him and he's about to go out the window. I cant get his hands to hide away neatly, the connector pieces for his feet are in the way.

Update: Oh no, its done. Wow, they are a fiddle. Had to made sure the feet connector pieces were as far as they can be to the centre of the car.

QC Issue. My figure is missins some orange paint from the piece that sits between the engin and the windscreen in vehicle mode. Looks like its painted clear blue plastic. I dont think you can see that part in bot mode when its in the box.

I took my boy to our local TRU in Tamworth today and rather surprisingly for a smaller TRU store they actual had MP Rodi' in stock.

Having seen him in the flesh today, I definitely decided to pass, he looked very poor quality for a MP IMO, especially when compared to MP Grimlock, who for the same price looks significantly more substantial.

bought MP rodimus and MP grimlock last night in sheffield Toys'r'us. (tried adding sightings page, but it wouldn't let me)

Grimlocks mint, the transformation is very much like his G1 version, but its grimlock, so still great! (though there is a rattle in his right foot, cant find any screws missing, but might take him back and see if i can get some money back)

Also got rodimus, smaller, hard transformation, really got stressed and just put him back in his package and on display. offshoot however is great. (when turning rodi into his car, flip the hands around so you have the welder/buzzsaw holders outside the arm, its not shown in the instructions, but makes it alot easier)

Interesting bit of information mine has #32125 on the inside of rodi's leg and on offshots, is this numbering individual or just a referance for the models? Just wondered if they've tried to match them up.

Overall still far happier with my takara MP01 prime.

No MP Rodimus at Clifton Moor TRU at all, but quite a few MP Grimlock instead, so I bagged one. yeto get him out of the box but it looks good to me.

Decision made, TT MP Rodimus it is then!!

interesting, so there are approx 32000+ TRU rodimus's not that rare then really.

Also took my Mp Grimlock back due to the rattle and the fact his head fell off when you looked at it.

Got a new one, no rattle, and head appears to be secure

Though they wouldn't offer me a discount on the old one, and he seemed to just go into the bin, wonder what else are in Toys'r'us bins....

There is one (yes a whole 1!) in the TRU Croydon if anyone is interested. I was thinking about getting one to keep in the box....and then I actually looked at the box and decided to stick to my "60notes is TOO much" for more than 1 policy and walk on by.

I somehow doubt there are 32,000 of these things - you'll be lucky if you shift 2,000 at full price in this country - maybe that's the worldwide total......or a meaningless serial number.

Waiting for MP Grimlock to go on sale before I pick up another one of him. TRU has a bunch of them just sitting there and you just know they are putting off cutting the price on them.......
