Holy crap them wizards at Takara never cease to amaze me.

I still wonder if Star Saber can hold his sword edge facing forward and not with the blade wielded at its side. That and where did that shield come from?

I knew Star Saber was big, but the Brainmaster himself is as big as the standard MP cars? That's just wild(ly awesome).

I think the Brainmaster is the little dude, kinda like a Powermaster, Headmaster, or Targetmaster. Star is the same of the deluxeish size bot, if mnemory serves, And Star Saber is the deluxish folded up into the larger armor. At least I think that's how it goes.

And, whoah. This is looking awesome!!

Since we're getting technical, here are the official names:

Tiny figure: Yuuki no Brain (Brain of Courage)
Intermediate figure: Saber
Full combined figure: Star Saber

The term "Brainmaster" is used in a gimmick describing sense only.

Very nice so far. Hopefully Takara makes a Masterpiece Victory Leo, so that we could get a Masterpiece Victory Saber. If it doesn't happen, maybe a Third Party company could make their own Victory Leo. Anything is possible, so it could happen. :D

Oh, that's it, thanks! I should have remembered that too, what with Saber Blade being said so often (even in Japanese) in the Victory cartoon. Plus, I was expecting correction from our resident Sabrblade, and his awesomeness in not having to reference the Wiki. (Is TFwiki wired directly into his brain? Image )

So, it was Saber, combining to become Star Saber, then combining with Victory Leo to become Victory Saber. (Plus the Yuuki no Brain initial combination with Saber.) It was weird to not see the little guy emphasized more, what given the characters in Masterforce. Perhaps they wanted the Brainmasters, Multiforce, and Chestforce (or Breastforce, depending on the translation viewed?) to be completely separate from Masterforce. Or perhaps they are all assumed to be transectors? Something tells me I am losing something in the translation of the subtitled episodes...

I wonder how the shield will be incorporated into the jet?

As for an MP Victory Leo, that's hopefully a 50/50 chance but given the projected response maybe 90%?

Hopefully not a repeat of Starconvoy that didn't get a Grandus re-issue

Yeah, Xephon0930 mentioned this too. From looking at the pictures, it looks like the huge forearms may be the culprit. It's hard to see if the handle of the sword is long enough for the guard to clear the forearm.

Hmm, it doesn't really look like he'll be able to hold it straight. Kind of a silly design, but the original was like that too.

One thing I'm glad for is the movable antennae. It was kind of bugging me how far they pointed outwards, so I'm happy to see they can point out to varying degrees.

I also really like how well the spaceship mode all fits together compared to every other version so far. Finally, no huge gaps!

All signs are pointing to this being one of the best MPs ever!

On the original toy the blade went into the hilt a different way so it faced forward, maybe that can be done on this figure too.

The way I always viewed the Brainmasters (after watching the Victory cartoon, that is) was that the little brain guys weren't their own persons but were more like manifestations of the larger robots' minds or minds and souls (or maybe, retroactively, their sparks, but that's a different can of worms), with the larger robots being the true versions of them.

After all, during the transformation sequences for each, the smaller dudes were often seen changing into some kind of energy form prior to entering the chests of the larger robots. Though, there were some occasions that the stock footage transformation sequences weren't used and did show the actual, physical brain robots to be inside the chests, but I still think that they're just emissaries for the true selves of the larger Brainmaster Autobots.

Plus, they don't actually have real names of their own, just decriptors for what kind of brains they are (Courage, Skill, Strength, Intelligence).

TF Yuki on twitter has posted a nice side by side comparison of the original with the Saber robot from the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber. A while back TF Yuki tweeted a size comparison of the full Star Saber which stood slightly taller than his original predecessor however the Masterpiece Saber robot is quite a bit smaller. On the upside, it is a lot more detailed which is to be expected with a Masterpiece.

You mean without his Star armor? On the odd occasion. There were even times when the Star armor was needed for other reasons and Saber would fight without it.

The first Masterpiece figure that's actually smaller than the original G1 figure.

Yeah, I'm only referring to Saber. I'm well aware that this figure's Star Saber form is just a smidge taller than the G1 figure's Star Saber form.

Though, Saber being this small makes him about the same height as the MP cars, such as Wheeljack, who was about the same height at Perceptor in the Victory cartoon, who was about the same height as Saber:

I have no connection with this character mostly for the fact that I don't know much about him growing up in G1 only. With that being said, I'm really excited and cant wait to see an official press release, fully colored, etc.

He also appears to be one of the tallest MP figures, looks to be as tall as MP 5...

Once again coming at us from Hisashi Yuki on Twitter, we get some comparison shots of the third part of the prototype for Masterpiece Star Saber - and it's Yuuki no Brain, Brainmaster of Courage! Check out the images showing the tiny figure alongside its predecessors and some other size comparisons.

TFYuki is Hisashi Yuki, not Hideashi Yuki.

Also, when did MP Star Saber get the designation of MP-25? We still don't know what designation he'll get as far as I've heard. Ultra Magnus is MP-22. Granted we don't know if Star Saber will be MP-23 or something higher yet, but last I heard he wasn't stated to have a number yet.

I was wondering where MP-25 came from as well... For all we know, it could have its own numbering system like the movie 'MP' figures. But if site staff know something we don't, then who the hell is MP-23 & 24? Spill it!

I'm getting a bad feeling that MP-23 is the brainmaster unit, MP-24 is Saber, with MP-25 being Starsaber.

Anyway, I think we'll be seeing a Victory Leo and possibly a Dai Atlas in the distant future.

They wouldn't give separate components of a single Masterpiece release individual ID numbers. When Rumble and Jaguar were packaged together, they were both given a single ID number of MP-15. Likewise for Frenzy and Buzzsaw together as a 2-pack being MP-16.

As far as can be told, the "MP-25" thing is incorrect (no offense intended towards the news crew).

It's not like the brain is even supposed to do anything anyway. It's not even a person; just the core component of Star Saber that goes into his chest.

You're talking about something that is half as tall and half as wide as the Armada minicon Ramjet figure. This is a fgurine that would be the right size to fit onto a HotWheels car, or an HO scale model train. Which is 1/87th of your size. To put it bluntly, and with as much sarcasm as possible:

The hell else do you want?? :P

Given the size,I don't think it will be feasible to give the Brain of Courage full articulation. It's like hoping that the "Spike" figure in MP-10 to have the same features (which will rack up the costs)

Dr. Wu is a 3rd party company, those guys can charge as much as they want. They aren't tied up as much as Tomy has to deal with costs despite the typical stereotype against multinationals/big corporations short selling us.

Remember how there were such big plans for UM? But costs was the primary concern in one of the interviews released.

And one thing, just what else can you add to such a wee wee figure? Head articulation? Remember, he already carries the face/brainmaster gimmick etc.

Besides, if I/you have Starsaber now, I'd be playing with his default/super mode over the Brainmaster.

I'm saying it's possible and feasible to give a small figure articulation. I'm sorry if you enjoy the crappy Spike that doesn't even look like Spike or have a face (!), but wait, not sorry.

I'm saying it's possible and feasible to give a small figure articulation. I'm sorry if you enjoy the crappy Spike that doesn't even look like Spike or have a face (!), but wait, not sorry.

FACE PALM!

Nowhere did I say I enjoyed the MP-10 Spike figure to a point of putting it on a pedestal.I used it as an analogy about incorporating too much impractical features to an accessory that will, if at all,add to the awesome playability of an already great product....the MP-10. I bought MP-10 for Optimus! Good that Tomy included Spike........period. Could they have put more articulation? Maybe? Add more facial details? Doubt it....the scale is just too small (by the by, if you mean details like the figs in Human Alliance.....well no thanks)

Speaking of details, I'd rather the type used on the KISS Players figs.
