The North American continent has been seeing the new Generations Combiner Wars Leader class Megatron for a little while, and its seems that Australia is also receiving its batches, too! Courtesy of Seibertron.com board admin Burn, we have confirmation of the Decepticon founder arriving down under without too much to wait compared to elsewhere in the world. Check out the image below, taken at a Toys'R'Us in Cairns, priced at AUS$ 89.99 (approx US $69) - and maybe join Australian fans in weeping over the retail price of MP Ultra Magnus, too (approx US $ 230).

Remember, to help out your fellow fans and collectors, make sure to flag any sighting of this or other toys in the regional forum boards here, and in our ever-growing database here!

Yeah ... I only sent Va'al pictures of Magnus weeks ago, didn't bother taking photos of both Megatrons back then.
My bad.

I just felt I had to quote the whole thing. First, your leader class prices are... painful to say the least.

And even tough MP UM look expensive as fawk, it's great you guys can have it LIVE in store! And even tough you have to pay your local sales taxes, at least you don't have to pay extra customs and shipping fees. An Aussie buying MP UM live in store will end up paying way less than me, if I bought it from BBTS!

Still worked out cheaper to import it directly from Japan.

Leader wise ... might save $10, but have to wait for months.

Just to have an idea if it's just the toys and video games that are expensive in australia, or if it's EVERYYTHING, can you tell me something?

-- The average price of a mass-produced 650g loaf of bread in Australian $.
-- The average price of one liter of 2% milk in Australian $.
-- Also, the minimum wage in AUS$/h.

For reference, in Canada, the bread cost around 3.50$CAN and the milk is around 2.50$CAN. And the minimum wage is 10.35$/h for Quebec.

Knowing those 3 facts give a good idea of what is the cost of living in each parts of the world.

This might help for prices - min wage is AU$16.87. Also note all prices are inclusive of tax, unlike over on your continent.

Just pointing out that non-candy food does not have tax over here.

Still...

Milk (regular), (1 liter) 1.42 A$
Loaf of Fresh White Bread (500g) 2.79 A$

Holy F... From now on, I forbid you Aussies to ever complain about the price of toys.

I mean, damn! It took me 10 years to land on a salary bracket that is just a few cents below the Australian MINIMUM wage! :BANG_HEAD:

That is not what makes Australian an expensive place to live. Housing prices have gone up something like 600% while wages have hardly moved. There has been an unprecedented number of families losing their houses in the last 10 years which has forced more people into renting and that has seen landlords raising rental prices due to higher demand. That has made having a place to live difficult to say the least.

Then there is electricity, a previous government allowed a few overseas companies come in and do a heap of un-needed upgrades to our network. Then to recoup their costs they raise prices (by 6% I think) every year and a metre box was added to many houses to supposedly help prices drop but it just let power companies double prices. I noticed one family have their 3 - 4 month bill go from $400 to $800 from one bill to the next. There are many people here who can no longer afford to run a fridge because then they can't pay their rent.

We also have a completely screwed up tax system.

Milk and bread tells you nothing about living costs

No wonder Burn is always cranky :P . Good thing you're not as cranky. And...........I take back a previous statement I made about you Aussies being lucky to have official Hasbro/Tomy releases.

I picked up mine at a Target in Adelaide on sale for $70 a few weeks ago. I've seen them for weeks in Toyworld, Target, Big W and Kmart. What I'm hanging out for is Wave 2 so I can get Air Raid and finish off Superion.

I'm just as cranky (and probably 10x as crazy), but don't post as much so it doesn't show :P

There were a couple of documents released in the last (I think) 6 months comparing costs of living for different countries and they always conveniently left out important facts which annoyed me greatly.

As for the topic, my UM pre-order with BBTS will be kept. With current exchange rates he is about $15 cheaper shipped with a high end shipping estimate. Will just have to wait a while to build up my PoL.

I picked up CW G1 Megatron a little under a week ago and I freaking love it. I've the standard complaints of the ankle tilts, part of me wishes that the thigh-calf ratio was slightly different and that the elbows had more range but that's just me. It's a fantastic figure in terms of aesthetics and posability, and because I like fiddling with Transformers figures and making up other altmodes, I cobbled together a pseudo-Metal Gear thing. I could attempt some pictures if there's demand for them

Starscream and Thundercracker are no brainers out of that mold. I'd imagine we'll see all three of them get released somehow. With Starscream receiving a rerelease of his MP at TRU (MP-11 mold), I'd imagine CW will get in on the action, too. I can't imagine them not doing so.

If the Leaders weren't quite so big in comparison to the rest of the CW molds, chances are I'd buy 'em, but with Hegemon as my Decepticon leader, these guys are just too out of scale.

I like the figure quite a bit. The modding done to Armada Megatron makes him just different enough from G1 Megatron that he's not obviously just a green repaint, and I suppose that my only complaint with them is that you can't move the arm cannon over enough to have it truly be on the outside of the arm. I guess I wish the forearms were a little longer as well, as his arms do seem kinda stumpy. I like that there are two viable options for the tank treads in robot mode so G1 can have them together and Armada can have them separate a bit to look a little more like the original.
All in all, I think they're good toys. I like them, at least, and they are a lot nicer than the official photos make them seem.

I'd say no on Leader Starscream confirmed... for now. But that comic is the reason why we have that Leader mold, just not as Starscream: the red and white would have made him too similar to last year's Jetfire, he wouldn't stand out as NEW! to impulse or uninformed buyers. So we have the blue guy instead.

Although it was presumed it would happen, since he was eyeing new bodies an issue or two ago and one of them was this one, and since the Thundercracker mold exists, and Hasbro likes to make all their seekers, it was a logical conclusion......
Nonetheless, it was technically a spoiler and I should have masked it. I'm sorry.

That may be why we got it as Thundercracker initially, but I'm confident we'll get a Starscream (and maybe Skywarp) out of this mold before too long. Botcon will tell us more.

Does anyone else find Megatron a little limited in his posing? His thighs and shoulders both suffer from restrictions keeping them from going far. It's not horrible, but is there a workaround I'm not seeing?

His posability IS limited. The leg's ratchets should have been softer, he should had some sort of ankle tilt, and the knees a a bit sacrificed due to the working threads.
Is it a big issue? HELL NO!
Megs is way too awesome as he is and I LOVE the working rubber threads! Plus, Megatron is a WARRIOR, not a ballet dancer.

Ya, his pose-ability is a little limited, but he makes up for it in so many ways. I find the position of his shoulders to be a little funky too. They're too low. Again nothing I can't forgive.

One detail I think is real nice, is the way the thighs are constructed. It's cool how the plate extends up in the front of the thigh to cover the pivot joint. Good little bit of design problem solving.

Ya know at first I was all about flipping the canon around so it looked more old school, but now I'm all into the ridiculous extend-o-canon.

Normally the poseabilty wouldn't bother me. I think I have the same issue I did with Jetfire. They're good enough figures but for the class and price point, little thing bugs me more. They would be great Voyager classes.

I do like Megatron. In fact, I have both the G1 and Armada version. They're both on my desk, plotting.

I use the extendo mode for the Armada version, and other way around for the G1 version.

The longer I have leader Megatron, the more disappointing it becomes. I can't get over the crappy cannon, and now the legs are starting to bother me. I really loved this figure at first, but as the newness wears off, the flaws are really taking over. :-(

Anyone care for a new video review to entertain their Friday? Fellow Seibertronian PaxCybertron has posted a look at the retool and repaint of Generations Leader Jetfire - the wonderfully blue, screenwriting, handsome as an F-22 jet fighter Combiner Wars Thundercracker! Check it out embedded below and let us know what you make of it in the Energon Pub.

Yup, and they have a brand new, hassle free website! Before, I was stuck googling what I needed. Now, I can just search the site iteself in a very NORMAL and convenient way. I just hope some older pictures get updated.

Anyway, I so bought the upgrade labels for Leader Megatron. Sure, 21$CAN shipped is really expensive, but this will give me the Megatron I truly wanted!
